Hi everybody!
Okay, an update huh? Well, since the premiere of the film, a lot has gone on for myself and my family. I competed in an obstacle race (jumping over cars and running through Central Park), I kayaked and camped in the US Virgin Islands/British Virgin Islands with my wife, I have done some fundraising for my fellow wounded military men/women, and I have dressed up with my wife as Vikings for Halloween!

I am headed back to school next semester (I took this semester off) for my degree in International Business. Aside from school and family keeping me busy, I have also volunteered to be the National Spokesman for Disabled Sports USA/Wounded Warrior Project. This will enable me to tell my story to help spread awareness as well as help raise funds for those that are still needing to get their lives back together.

As for the film, I am very proud to have participated in it and I think HBO did an excellent job with it. The whole purpose of why my wife and I decided to volunteer our time to this film was to spread awareness to America about the eyes of war. So many people shut their eyes, turn the other way, or live in utter denial that we are even in war.

This film was intended to share the truth about what can potentially go on over there, regardless of your personal beliefs or stance on the war. Men and women like myself deserve to be heard and taken care of the best way America knows how to- for we (and our brothers before us) have provided freedom to all.

I am pleased to see the positive feedback this film has received and also to see that so many Americans have soaked in it's true purpose, it's ultimate goal.

Other than that, I am doing fantastic and my life is complete. I have the best wife in the world that supports me (even when I am having a PTSD spell) and loves me unconditionally. My children are the light of my eyes and I miss them so much when they are not with me! I can't wait for a new addition to the family because there is nothing quite like being a parent! I am optimistic about my future career and I am proud of all I have accomplished so far. My life has taken some nasty turns but I have fortunately learned and grown-up from each one of them. I have no regrets from my past and I work everyday to be a better person and to not stoop to anybody else's level.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for acknowledging this film. This film deserves an Emmy so keep up the support and vote for it when the awards come around next year!

God Bless you America-

R-SSgt John P. Jones
