As unpopular as my opinion may be, I say James Toney won the fight. How any judge could give Peter 8 rounds is beyond belief. At best (for Peter), I was thinking split decision.

Sure, he had Toney hurt in the 3 and 4th with those clubbing, brawler-style, marginally legal punches behind the ear but on points...Toney hands down.

Toney's jab was impeccable. His defense was impermeable and his offense, more affective.

Makes me wonder about the corruption in the fight game. After all, Toney has more upside saleability than Toney, but on Saturday night, Toney won.

I've seen the fight 4 times and STILL don't see what the judges saw.

My vote? Toney 115-113. Even Al Berstein (who missed a few critical calls during the fight) agreed that Toney should have won. I guess he, not unlike Bernard Hopkins, pissed off one too many judges.

Please share your thoughts. I am a student of the game and would like some one (any one) to explain the judging to me.
