Brightsky Productions, LTD Stages of baby boomer fattening:
1. 1960s: the PILL. Women take estrogen. They typically gain 10-20 pounds. Then they hate themselves and wind up on antidepressants, which cause weight gain.
2. Pain meds. NSAIDS, Aleve, Advil: can make people ravenously hungry. The stomach is irritated, demands bland foods like bread and potatoes, is never satisfied. They cause high blood pressure, ->people are diagnosed with it. ->They take more meds, which may cause more weight gain.
3. Use of STEROIDS for injury and pain: They make people ravenous, even when applied as a cream. They bulk people up (duh). Prednizone, cortizone, lotrin,
Reflex, many others.
4. Muscle relaxants for stress relief. Give people GERD if taken at night (by relaxing the esophageal opening). People have to eat more bread, crackers, bland foods, take tums or other anti acids, which usually contain sugar=calories=fat
5. ANTIDEPRESSANTS: Known to cause weight gain. Make some people eat obsessively.
People are usually NOT told their RX will make them gain weight. They blame themselves, feel horrible, out of control, self loathe and may eat more.
6. Postmenpausal hormone replacement causes weight gain of seven to ten pounds, typically.
