It has become painfully obvious that we have way too many ideas for what direction this nation should take, and not nearly enough ideas about how we are going to move this nation anywhere. At least when the first settlers started heading west they had covered wagons, and knew which way to go. We don't even have a starting point nor can we agree on a direction. Lets face it, this country is a giant collective of soft, ignorant, fearful people who if left in the woods for 2 weeks would die off at a better than 70% rate. This lack of any grasp on the varied possibilities this chaotic universe can toss at us is no coincidence. If you want control large groups of people there are two fundamental things that you must achieve; one, keep them ignorant (check) two, keep them afraid (double check). In the interest of brevity I will not continue by citing any number of examples of this deliberate subversion of independent thought, nor will I at this time provide my opinions on the very simple RATIONAL solutions to this all encompassing problem. I will however make one statement regarding the direction the popular media seems to want this country to turn towards; There is no country, no program, no business, no record EVER of any socialist program that ended as a success. If a person is rewarded for doing nothing, there is nothing to inspire that person to DO anything. Personal responsibility is a right no one should be willing to give up, and one that everyone should be willing to die for. Personal responsibility is the heart of the reasons the founding fathers fought the Revolutionary war. When Socialist ideas are made policy there are three fundamental things that always happen: Quality goes down, corruption goes up, innovation stops.
