The Neo-Fascist Takeover Of America
I have always liked studying history, so I decided to see if there were any parallels between what has happened here in the United States in the last ten years, and the past. One doesn?t need to go back very far to reach the conclusion that there are similarities between the past and the present. The first half of the 20th Century offers some parallels, for instance:

I have been watching a series of DVD?s called ?Through Enemy Eyes.? These are German Newsreels put out during the Third Reich for the consumption of the German public. They were re-released in 1996 by International Historic Films, with English subtitles and are of course in black and white. The film quality is excellent, and I highly recommend anyone who is studying World War II to watch these films for the footage alone. There are 14 Volumes consisting of 2 DVD?s per volume, so it is quite extensive. It covers the years 1939 through 1945, and was originally produced by UFA (Ton-Woche) under the eye of Josef Goerbels.

http://ihffilm.com/gerwarnew.html

What you realize as you watch these films is that their propaganda is very similar to ours. The major difference is that propaganda in general is produced for an audience depending upon their race, language, and religion. There are some truths among the falsehoods, which are never presented in the Allied propaganda. Like all propaganda, there exist both.

One is reminded of our own propaganda about the Gulf War and the invasion of Iraq. Our mainstream media used computer graphics to present an image of the invasion that was sterile of civilian deaths and appeared more like a computer game. As the bombs fell on Baghdad, talking heads of generals and other ?experts? would give the technical aspects of the invasion, while ignoring the tens of thousand civilian deaths occurring because of it. Any bravery was exhibited by U.S. forces using the latest in weapons technology, not by the civilian population who was being pounded into submission. The media never once questioned the necessity or justification for the invasion, nor presented anything but a biased one-sided presentation and glorification of the war. Only American deaths were important and to be counted, but even these were smothered as the toll grew with the occupation.

There are other similarities to be found in other places such as Hitler?s Mein Kamph, and the Neoconservative (Neo-fascist) ?Rebuilding America?s Defenses-Strategy, Forces and Resources For a New Century.? A Report of The Project for the New American Century September 2000.

An Excerpt:

?Further, the process of transformation,
even if it brings revolutionary change, is
likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event ? like a
new Pearl Harbor
.?

Page 51

It certainly looks like the Neocons got their new Pearl Harbor!

It?s not as if this wasn?t thought of before: Operation Northwoods, or Northwoods, was a false flag conspiracy plan, proposed within the U.S. government in 1962. The plan called for CIA or other operatives to kill American civilians and commit apparent acts of terrorism.

EXAMPLE:

?It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States to Jamaica, Guatemala, Panama or Venezuela. The destination would be chosen only to cause the flight plan route to cross Cuba. The passengers could be a group of college students off on a holiday or any grouping of persons with a common interest to support chartering a non-scheduled flight.

a. An aircraft at Eglin AFB would be painted and numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft belonging to a CIA proprietary organization in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be substituted for the actual civil aircraft and would be loaded with the selected passengers, all boarded under carefully prepared aliases. The actual registered aircraft would be converted to a drone.

b. Take off times of the drone aircraft and the actual aircraft will be scheduled to allow a rendezvous south of Florida. From the rendezvous point the passenger-carrying aircraft will descend to minimum altitude and go directly into an auxiliary field at Eglin AFB where arrangements will have been made to evacuate the passengers and return the aircraft to its original status. The drone aircraft meanwhile will continue to fly the filed flight plan. When over Cuba the drone will being transmitting on the international distress frequency a "MAY DAY" message stating he is under attack by Cuban MIG aircraft. The transmission will be interrupted by destruction of the aircraft which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO radio stations in the Western Hemisphere to tell the US what has happened to the aircraft instead of the US trying to "sell" the incident.?

There has always been Neo-Fascists in both parties. For each to claim that they represent opposite sides of the political spectrum is a lie! The same corporations that were involved in the plot to overthrow FDR still exist today in the form of the Industrial-Military-Congressional Complex. We might want to add the CIA, FBI, NSA, ASA, and ONI to this conglomerate as well.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=628728631767818729

So just how did the Nazi?s in 1932-33 and the Neo-Fascist in 2000-01 bring this about?

1. First they took control of the media. Josef Goerbels did this in Nazi Germany, and here it was done by the likes of Rupert Murdoch. As more of the mainstream media fell into fewer and fewer hands, it became nothing more than the propaganda ministry for the Neoconservative agenda.
2. Tarnish the previous administration so that a takeover of the apposing party is more likely. In Nazi Germany, they said that the Weimar Republic had ?stabbed Germany in the back.? In addition, blaming Jews and Bolsheviks also helped solidify the country for a right wing takeover. Here, bringing up impeachment charges against Bill Clinton for misdemeanors did it. Yes, he left himself wide open for this attack, but it?s interesting that all he did pales in comparison to what Bush has done.
3. Just in case, rig the election. The Nazi?s were very adept at this, and once they got their foot in the door, the Chancellery was open to them. Here, Bush did it with the help of his brother in Florida, and the Supreme Court. In 2004, the swing State of Ohio was wrought with voting fraud. The majority of the infractions occurred in minority areas where the Republicans do not hold a majority.
4. Stage an event that would give them dictatorial powers. In Nazi Germany, this was the Reichstag fire. Here it was 9-11. Anyone who has read the Neocon?s (Neofascist) bible (Rebuilding America?s Defenses) knows that they carried out everything they had set out to do, including ?an new Pearl Harbor.? This, like the Reichstag fire, was a ?False Flag? operation, meant to suspend human rights and establish a dictatorial Executive Branch.
5. Create an ongoing war that will increase profit for those corporations you represent and put you in power. This was done in Nazi Germany for Krupp, I.G. Farben etc. Many U.S. corporations profited from doing business in Nazi Germany, such as IBM. Thanks to their punch cards and machines, the Nazi?s were able to identify, transport, and execute Jews more effectively. Union Bank of New York (headed by Dubya?s grand daddy), helped launder Nazi money acquired in its conquest of Europe (along with ?Neutral? Switzerland). Even Henry Ford?s anti-Semitic literature was published in Nazi Germany. Here it was done for Halliburton, Black Water, etc.

Economics 1900-Present
I know that Eisenhower was the first one to warn us about the "Military-Industrial Complex' (he originally wanted to call it the Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex, but after all it was Congress he was talking to just before he left office). Things have gotten worse since, from ?The Plutonium Files? (as investigated by Eileen Wellsome), Vietnam, the assassination of JFK, MLK, RFK, Kent State, and Chicago 68, to Iran-Contra, Invasion of Panama, Ruby Ridge, Waco, WTC 9-11, and Iraq.

Industrialization at the turn of the 20th Century created a lot of problems. Problems that Karl Marx and Frederick Engel?s spoke about in the Communist Manifesto. This along with Marx's Das Kapital, and Value, Price, And Profit, formed the core of Communist/Bolshevist philosophy. Lenin's later work "The State And Revolution further spearheaded the movement to global Communism in the third world. One of the tenants of the Communist Manifesto was "Dialectical Materialism." This idea was taken from Feuerbach's Dialectic, and Hegel's Materialism. This idea was based on the historic assumption that there exists in society a constant conflict. Those in power were called the "Thesis" while those who were in constant conflict with those in power (i.e.. The Proletariat) were called the "Anti-Thesis." They would wage violent and nonviolent war until there evolved a new "Thesis" which would be an amalgam of the previous Thesis and Anti-Thesis. This new Thesis would however have it's own Anti-Thesis which would conflict with it once again to form a new Thesis. This would go on and on until one day (miraculously) the State would wither away, and the Proletariat would eventually rule. THIS NEVER HAPPENED! It didn't happen under Mao, and it didn?t happen under Stalin. The reason is quite simple: Power once instituted, will do anything to remain in power, even murder if necessary. This applies not only to governments, but corporations and religions as well. Unfortunately, the problems created for the working class as defined by Karl Marx were never corrected nor solved. Certainly, Communism as existed in the Soviet Union or China did not solve the underlying problems that unbridled Capitalism creates as it becomes international and more monopolistic.

In the 1930's during the Great Depression, the archenemy was Bolshevism and the fear that it might transplant itself here in the form of labor unions. The fear was felt the greatest with the bankers and corporate CEO's like Rockefeller, Getty, Mellon, Morgan, and Rothschild etc. Hence the creation of the "House On Un-American Activities" during the 1950's, where Tail Gunner Joe McCarthy persecuted so many innocent (and some guilty) of aiding Soviet Russia. One of the main reasons for the end of the Great Depression was WWII. The expansion of industry into a Military-Industrial Complex speeded up our recovery out of this malaise, and instilled a new paradigm into the equation: Namely that along with Roosevelt's New Deal, corporations would agree to Social Security in exchange for more power in the form of this new complex being created. However, in order to insure that this was possible, a new enemy had to exist. Joe Stalin gave this to them by throwing an "Iron Curtain" (Churchill's phrase) over Eastern Europe. This lasted until Regan's Star Wars, Solidarity (Lech Walesa & Solidarnosk in Poland), and the new Polish Pope helped bring about the collapse of Communism. It was also the fact that the Soviet Union saw how thanks to Nixon, China was going to get a part of the economic pie promised by the "New World Order" (Bush 89), that Globalization offered.

Globalization is the idea that huge international corporations backed by the World Bank, IMF, WTF etc. will control countries better than their own government could. NAFTA, and the European Union, are all products of this philosophy. The fact is that it does help elevate the overall economics of a country involved, but the country also looses a lot in the process. For one thing, they start to loose their identity and culture. As more McDonalds creep into their society, and the people become more obese due to the change in their diet, they also increase their death rates due to cancer and heart disease. But more importantly, they end up loosing their culture to crass commercialism, all in the name of profit and greed. So, China starts to dismantle its Great Wall and place it near their tourist centers so that they can increase their profit from tourism. What the tourist ends up seeing is not a true representation of China nor what it was or is, but a Disneyland version. This has happened in the U.S. as well. If you have ever been on a cruise to Alaska, and stopped off in Ketchikan, Juno, or Sitka, know that what you are seeing is for you the tourist, and not representative of what these towns were like when I was on Alaskan Fishery Patrols back in the early 70's. Even a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands will present the same scenario. And, Disney wants to take over our national parks and historic landmarks so that they can make a profit off the lost lives of those great Americans who fought and died on these battlefields. Globalization has created an homogenized world where one can go and see basically the same culture everywhere. Don't expect to go to China, France, England, or any other country and expect to see what they were like in your mind of 1945. Sure, one expects change, but not created by the minds of international corporations. Now they want North, Central, and South America to become one economic block similar to the European Union, with one currency, the Amero. Our Constitution will no longer be valid, and corporations (as stated so eloquently in the film ?Network?) will be the One World Government.

Another by product of Globalization is the ?Sweat Shops? that U.S. Corporations use overseas so that they can produce their products with such a large profit margin. The destruction of the Middle Class; the fact that our workers are more productive than ever, producing more goods and services in shorter time while getting paid even less as the value of the dollar shrinks due to the imbalance of trade and the deficit, ensures that unions and collective bargaining are a thing of the past. Another reason that corporations re-locate overseas is to avoid paying taxes, and the fact that environmental law as well as worker?s rights are non-existent. Just look at what is happening to China?s air and water supply. We are starting to feel the effects of their air pollution here in the U.S., as well as their lack of quality control in the products they ship to us. Lead in toys, chemicals in milk, baby, and pet food, all indicate their and our government?s carelessness about the health and welfare of their own people. We in fact are becoming more and more like the Communist (now fascist capitalistic) Chinese government.

You cannot have constant population and economic growth on a finite planet. Sooner or later the oil will run out, and the planet will become so polluted with waste and chemicals that life will find it hard to exist. All of this due to the short-term profit goals of international capitalism, and the exploitation of the Earth?s resources and people.

Bldg 7 & the Collapse of the WTC
BUILDING 7, AND THE COLLAPSE OF THE WTC

Most demolition experts who have watched videos of WTC building 7 collapsing have stated that this was a controlled demolition. They also agree that the charges had to have been planted well in advance of September 11, 2001 for this to take place. The conclusion would therefore be that those who had the charges planted knew in advance that the WTC was to be attacked. This also raises the question that if building 7 was brought down by planted charges, then perhaps buildings 1 and 2 were also brought down by previously planted charges as well.

One thing is certain, a serious investigation needs to be conducted into what really caused the buildings to collapse, and those responsible brought to justice. Like the Warren Commission, the 9-11 Commission failed to address many questions. The collapse of building 7, and the money trail that financed the ?attack? were never investigated. If this scenario was in fact a ?False Flag? operation as many conspiracy theorists think, then it is THE DARKEST CHAPTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT! No one wants to think that the government is capable of doing such a thing, and the media has not wanted to touch the subject. For the mainstream media to even consider the issue would mean that the deaths of over 3000 Americans were possibly the result of conspiracy at the highest level of government.

There are several facts that were brought out and recorded during the event that warrant this investigation. Many of those on scene such as firefighters and others, have indicated that they heard and/or felt explosions before and after the second plane hit the WTC. Even reporters such as Dan Rather have indicated that the buildings appeared to have been brought down by controlled explosions. The videos taken of the event also indicate that this appears to be the case; with experts indicating that in order for the buildings to collapse at nearly free-fall speed would require a controlled demolition. The buildings were built to withstand the impact of passenger jets, and the majority of the fuel was burned off in the fireball upon impact. Firefighters indicated that there was still molten metal at the base of the collapsed buildings days later. This would indicate that something other than jet fuel caused this metal to remain molten and hot long after the event. Some have suggested Thermite was used as a cutting agent on the main structural members at the core of the buildings.

One hopes that a new more thorough investigation would prove once and for all that the buildings did collapse only due to the impact of passenger aircraft. However, for the mainstream media to turn away from the issue simply because it is to distressing to even contemplate, much less investigate, is for them to shirk their duty as one of the pillars of our democracy. Without a media pressuring the judiciary to investigate and bring to justice anyone responsible, it is doubtful that anything will take place. Most of the evidence at the crime scene was immediately hauled away and shipped overseas, and therefore cannot be used. However the paper and money trail can be investigated, and the information subpoenaed from the Bush Administration, and CIA. Failure to release this information in the name of ?National Security,? would indeed be a threat to our nation?s security in that we would have already lost our democracy!

This has been all about oil! Iraq?s oil reserve is second only to Saudi Arabia. The bases are permanent! We will never leave! You are all a bunch of liars and hypocrites! So now you have your Mid-East oil reserve, what?s next? Will you invade Russia in the future to control Lake Baikal, which has 20% of the world?s fresh water? All of these scenarios have been previously thought out (see the 1975 film ?3 Days Of The Condor). You say you care about the Iraqi people. You care about the oil; the people are just in the way. What is the total civilian death toll from the first Gulf War, the embargo, and the second Iraq invasion? You don?t want the world to know!

We are worse than Rome! Let?s stop calling ourselves a ?democracy!? I have never been more ashamed of this government than I am today! The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 or Osama bin Laden. You are all in it together, and no matter what you say, there is no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats! It?s all smoke and mirrors. How long do you think this charade will last? Do you honestly think you can continue to bullshit the American people and the world forever? It is an insult to our intelligence for the Democrats to continue to ?protest? and call for a continuing ?debate.? Where was the debate when the Bush administration started talking about invading Iraq? Who really controls the government, the people, or the military-industrial-congressional complex vis-à-vis the Executive Branch? I think I already have the answer!

The mainstream media missed the boat when it came to asking the necessary questions about 9-11 such as how and why the terrorist were able to pull off such an attack in the first place. They would also miss the boat by not asking the hard questions about why we had to invade Iraq. About the only ones pushing for the truth were the "Jersey Girls:" widows of 9-11 who had lost their loved ones in the World Trade Center. When things started getting too hot for the Republicans, they sent their attack dog Ann Coulter out spewing venomous hearsay and innuendo about these women. Ann Coulter has no credibility and one wonders just why anyone on the Republican right would allow her to spread her garbage. Coulter does not deal in facts, just slander and vulgarity!

One of the first questions that should have been asked right after 9-11 is why the Bush Administration allowed members of the Bin Laden family to leave the country immediately after the attack.

Another good question is why were military jets so late in being scrambled to intercept the hijacked aircraft, when in the past they had been scrambled in less serious cases much faster?

Why did the smaller third building in the World Trade Center collapse? Why were security notices passed to military command about a potential threat to travel by air, but not to those taking the flights?

The 9-11 Commission report was as valid to answering questions as the Warren Commission report! They may have satisfied the government, but not the American people.

Bush, Cheney, and Rice all seem to be fudging to say the least when they say they had no warning. After the first tower was hit, why weren't the people in the second tower told to leave? This would have been common sense even if no one thought it was a terrorist attack.

When the government states that the acts committed by U.S. military personnel in Iraq against prisoners is un-American, they are acting as if this is the first time this has occurred! In Vietnam, operation “Phoenix” was a CIA controlled effort at taking out the VC infrastructure in South Vietnam. It involved assassination attacks across the boarder, as well as the kidnapping, torture, and murder of suspects. The CIA interrogators may not have dirtied their hands by torturing the suspects, but they were certainly present during the “interrogation.” Later, it was determined that many men and women who were tortured or put to death, were in fact innocent of being VC or VC sympathizers. The situation in Iraq has CIA written all over it. If only enlisted personnel are punished for the “un-American” activity, that would be a crime in itself. All involved, including Bush, Chaney, and Rumsfeldt, should be punished. If Martha Stewart can go to prison for lying, so should Alberto Gonzales and the rest of the Bush cabinet that were involved. Those enlisted personnel involved would only do these things if (higher up the chain of command) they were given either tacit or direct approval for these crimes. It was probably verbal and not written, although the "testimony" of the Attorney General leaves a lot to be desired. This had to come from CIA and civilian interrogators, as well as U.S. Army Intelligence officers up the chain of command with the understanding that this had the tacit approval of the Secretary of Defense, Vice President, and President! Lets stop deluding ourselves into believing that the government always acts in accordance with what we have come to believe are “American Ideals!” Anyone who has studied history knows that this is not true, and that our past is paved with good intentions that went out of control. The end never justifies the means because we live in the “now,” and must be held accountable for our actions. It is no wonder that the United States has not signed on to the World Court, as it is obvious that many in our leadership would be put on trial for attacking a sovereign nation based upon a pretext of lies.

Certainly most of the terrorists of 9-11 came from Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and if any country deserved to be invaded, it was Saudi Arabia. Iraq, which seems to be a fixation with the Bush family, should not have been attacked without UN approval, and certainly did not need to be attacked at that particular time. Of course, we will never attack Saudi Arabia, no matter what they do since they have invested so heavily in the U.S., and are a major source of oil. The first Gulf War had already made Iran stronger, and if any country has ties to terrorists, it is Iran. Certainly Iran should have been considered as a secondary target after Afghanistan, not Iraq! Iraq was being held in check with fly-overs and patrol zones, and embargo. The inspections were working as indicated by the lack of WMD (the first reason given for the invasion).

One can be for the war against terrorism, but invading Iraq was a blunder, and anyone who feels it is a success is delusional.

Even if you didn't vote for President Bush, you have to admit that immediately after 9-11, he had the backing of the American people and our allies. Why he allowed Bin Laden family members spirited out of the country immediately after 9-11, is still a question that needs to be answered. Anyone who held a foreign passport, especially from an Arab Muslim country in the Middle East, should never have been allowed to leave without being first interrogated by either the FBI, CIA or both. The invasion of Afghanistan was justified, however one wonders why more troops weren't put on the ground to go after Al-Qaida and Osama Bin Laden. A three-pronged attack on Tora Bora from different sides my have yielded better results. There should have been more troops on the ground in Afghanistan in 2002, but they were being held in reserve for the future invasion of Iraq (the real target).

Then Bush started talking about invading Iraq, and I couldn't believe he was serious. After all, most of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia or Yemen, and one would think that these countries, or even Iran would be high on the list of those to attack. The idea of invading Iraq preceded 9-11, and was discussed with his security staff soon after he took office in 2001.

It appears now that 9-11 was all the excuse the administration needed for the invasion of Iraq as long as they could make it stick. By manipulating intelligence data to suit the mission and deliberately selecting that which supported their goals, the administration was able to go to the United Nations with half truths and innuendo that was compelling enough to support their claims. The resons given for the invasion shifted as the truth became known:

A. Iraq was trying to get radioactive material from Africa. This was proven false by Joseph Wilson, whom the Bush Administration tried to discredit and violated the laws of this country by outing his wife who was a CIA agent.

B. There were Weapons Of Mass Destruction (WMD) on the ground in Iraq. (Even though the inspectors such as Scott Ritter disagreed and said the inspections were working).

C. When no WMD's were found, the reason was changed to: Saddam had ties to Al-Qaida. This was later proven false as well.

D. When ties to Al-Qaida was admitted by Bush himself to be false, the reason for the invasion was the removal of Saddam Hussein, and regime change in Iraq. Bush stated that Saddam had tried to kill his father, and that it was personal to him to take out Saddam Hussein. Does this mean that Cuba has the right to take out our president because we tried to kill Castro?

Because of poor planning and not thinking this through to its inevitable conclusion, all of the above lies couldn't stop the Iraqi people from fighting back against the invaders. Not all Iraqis, especially the deposed Sunnis, welcomed us with open arms. The removal of the one stabilizing force in Iraq (Saddam and his army) resulted in the breakdown of civility between the Sunnis and the Shiites.

Several books have been written on the subject of the Bush Administration and the Invasion of Iraq. Some books are more credible than others, all are worth reading. Here are just a few:

Impeach The Son-Of-A-Bush!
It seems that congress is not capable of taking the stern action necessary to get this country and our government back on track as a representative democracy. It took a determined republican majority to support Articles of Impeachment against President Clinton for lying about sex. The crimes committed, and are being committed by this president far exceed what Nixon, or Clinton have done. What message do we send to the American people and the World at large when we fail to act in such a manner? What we are saying is that we condone all that President Bush has done, including but not limited to:

1. Lying about invading another country, and manipulating intelligence to connect 9-11 to Saddam Hussein and Iraq.
2. Violating the Checks-And-Balance of our three-branch government in the same way that the Regan Administration did during Iran-Contra, by thumbing its nose at congress and the subpoenas against the administration.
3. Usurping the Constitution of the United States by illegally wire-taping U.S. citizens, and violating Habeas Corpus rules of due process.
4. Violating the Geneva Convention and the use of torture of suspects at Abu Garibe, GITMO, and Afghanistan.
5. Violating the sovereignty of other countries buy using "Rendition" (the means by which suspects are kidnapped from countries and taken to secret torture sites in Eastern Europe).

Bill Clinton may have pissed on the Presidency by having sex in the Oval Office, but George Bush has shit on the Constitution of the United States! I served and fought in Vietnam for ideals, which that Constitution is supposed to represent. The same ideals for which our service men and women are putting their lives on the line for right now. We are all supposed to "Uphold, Protect and Defend" the Constitution, something which this administration has taken an oath to do, but has in fact violated! This is more indicative of a petty dictatorship than a representative democracy. What happened to congress's balls?

Network
Paddy Chayefsky’s satire “Network,” won an Academy Award for best screenplay in 1976. He was so far ahead of the rest of us in seeing what was happening to this country and the world that much of what was in the play has in fact happened.

There are two scenes that I think are exceptional. The first is where the character Howard Beale (played by Peter Finch) tells the audience why they should be concerned about the death of Marc Ruddy the head of the network:

Beale: “…Because you people and 62 million other Americans are listening to me right now. Because less than 3 % of you people read books. Because less than 15 % of you read newspapers. Because the only truth you know is what you get over this tube.”

“Right now, there is a whole, an entire generation that never knew anything that didn’t come out of this tube! This tube is the Gospel. The ultimate revelation. This tube can make or break presidents, popes, prime ministers, This tube is the most awesome goddamn force in the whole godless world and woe is us if it ever falls into the hands of the wrong people!”

The fact is that the media we have taken for granted for so long to be an unbiased part of our checks and balances in this democracy, has in fact been taken over and centralized. Powerful rich people like Rupert Murdock now control much of the “freedom of speech” in this country. Much of what took place in the play such as the superfluous crap that passes for “news” has taken place. Certainly, the major news networks do not question the actions of the government as in the past. Where was CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, or Fox when Bush was raving about going into Iraq? None of the networks even questioned the idea. About the only place you will get a differing opinion about anything is on Democracy Now, on Free Speech TV (FSTV) and LINK TV.

The second scene is where Howard Beale is asked to see Arthur Jensen (played by Ned Beatty):

Jensen: “You have meddled with the primal forces of nature Mr. Beale and I won’t have it! Is that clear? You think you merely stopped a business deal. That is not the case. The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country and now they must put it back! It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity. It is the ecological balance!

“You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no Third Worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems! One vast and immane, interwoven, interacting multi-variant, multinational dominion of dollars! Petrol dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, Reich Marks, Rins, Rubles, Pounds, and Shekels!”

“It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today. And you have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and you will atone! Am I getting through to you Mr. Beale?”

“You get up on your 21-inch screen and howl about America and democracy. There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT and AT&T and Du Pont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today.”

“What do you think the Russians talk about in their councils of state? Karl Marx? They get out their linear programming charts, statistical decision theories, minimax solutions and compute the price-cost probabilities of their transactions and investments just like we do.”

“We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime.”

“And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that perfect world in which there’s no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit in which men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused.”

“And I have chosen you Mr. Beale to preach this evangel.”

Beale: “Why me?”

Jensen: “Because you’re on television, dummy! Sixty million people watch you every night of the week, Monday through Friday.”

Beale: “I have seen the face of God.”

Jensen: “You just might be right, Mr. Beale.”

Globalization (“The New World Order”) has in fact created the situation that the character played by Ned Beatty describes in the scene above. The fact is that international banking, the Trilateral Commission, World Bank, WTO, IMF, G7, GATT, and NAFTA etc. do create foreign policy, even if it goes against democratic principles. The Federal Reserve does create domestic policy, even if it goes against democratic principles. Eisenhower warned us about the Military-Industrial Complex. The corporations that make weapon systems such as General Dynamics, Raytheon, McDonnell Douglas, create foreign policy.

That is why I am not so sure that those in power have not already selected the next president, and that what we will be participating in will be “smoke and mirrors.”
