Pullo's Prayer
Pullo's Prayer to the Gods.

Which was also his eulogy for his beloved wife, Eirene.

Pullo's Prayer:

"You gods that might know this woman as one of your own, please listen to me.
We here call her Eirene, but she was called 'Adela' where she came from...somewhere beyond the Rhine.
Not sure exactly where.
Anyroad, you'll know her.
She was a good woman.
She always spoke very highly of you.
So please....look after her...and our boy.
My name, is Titus Pullo, ex-13th Legion...her husband.
Wasn't always as good to her as I should have been.
I give my life to you to use as you like, if you'll see that she's happy now."

This was the most moving speech that Pullo has made, since his small prayer before the Arena Scene.
At least in my humble opinion.

[nobr]The Art of Whine[/nobr]
I can't help but notice, that these days it seems like only the whiners get what they want. If you try to be well-behaved and stoic.....you get left behind. The whiners are out there in the front running. They seem to get the grease. When did this happen? And what caused this to be? So I thought I should probably learn how to whine. There seems to be an art to it. Does anyone have any pointers? What's the best and most effective way to whine? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

[nobr]Ending without an Ending[/nobr]
This is just wrong..... This thing that happens when a Series gets cancelled without a proper conclusion to the main storylines. This is just....a wrong thing. It's nothing new. The broadcast Networks have been doing this for years. But when a 'Premium Channel' does it, it begs the question: ...is this what I'm paying for? So it's just very discouraging to think about investing time in watching a new Series, until you know that it's going to play out to the end. I don't think that I am alone in this outlook. It seems as though a new Series doesn't really take off until after the Second Season. When people can see that the story is going to continue. I didn't really get into watching the Sopranos until the Third Season. It's like we've got 'cancellation fatigue' or something. Gun shy, so to speak. I wonder if the corporate heads take this into account when they are deciding to cancel a Series? And you would think that DVD Sales would improve exponentially if a Series ran to its conclusion. This should be an incentive for finishing. You'd think. Are there any solutions to this? (posted 06/03/06) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, it looks like Deadwood is going to get a conclusion. It makes sense. It's not a 4th Season, but two 2-hour Movies will bring the storylines to a proper end. Hopefully. And there are things that can be accomplished in a movie format that can't be accomplished in a 50 minute episode. So, I am actually looking forward to it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I hope that ROME doesn't end with Season 2. Some say it will. I hope they're wrong. Personally, I would love it if we got a ROME Movie after Season 2.....that is, if there isn't a Season 3 or 4. It would just be a big shame if ROME ends with Season 2 without a proper conclusion to the storylines. I hate being left hanging. -- Edited by mjmd at 06/10/2006 12:07 PM
