I remember during an episode a few months back when Bill raised the question of why anyone would say or even imply that they hate Hillary Clinton after he had heard of people saying that when discussing her as a candidate.

That made me wonder why anyone would hate a person they don't know, and why they would hate anyone who hasn't even had the power to effect their life or community. I realized that is very irrational thinking, and a feeling I would always be more intelligent than to give any real weight in my own life.

That is when I realized that I HATE GEORGE BUSH. I HATE HIM AS A PERSON. I HATE HIM A PRESIDENT. I HATE HIM AS THE IDIOT WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF SO MANY YOUNG AMERICANS SO THAT HIM AND HIS CHIMP VP CAN PROFIT.

Rationally, I realized that I hate him for very good reasons. He has effected my life directly when he lied to me, and the rest of the country about Iraq. He effected my Patriotism, which was sky high after 9/11.

So while I still can not understand why a person would hate Hillary Clinton, even though it is perfectly OK to think she is a corrupt bitch, I fully understand anyone saying that they HATE GEORGE BUSH.

P.S. I am veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was an Infantryman in the Army in which I spent a year tour in Baghdad and Karbala in 2003 and 2004.

In a way we've already nuked the Iraqis & our service people & mercenaries with the depleted uranium ordnance. I understand that this ordnance has serious aftereffects. Even if it's not used on you the pollution remains. Reminds me of Agent Orange. Service people will be "paying" for this misbegotten war with health problems a long time in the future.

34 U.S. Senators and 73 House Members will receive letters today informing them that federal dollars they earmarked for organizations in their home states or districts may be unconstitutional. The letters are signed by Lori Lipman Brown, Director of the DC-based Secular Coalition for America and. The Coalition reviewed 24 Congressional appropriations committee reports for fiscal year (FY) 2008 and found over 140 earmarks that may defy the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The $30 million in earmarks were in the budget bill signed by President Bush on December 26, 2007. A copy of the letter asking members to be more vigilant in selecting groups that receive federal funds is here.


?These earmarks may be common,? said Brown ?but our research shows they can be downright unconstitutional.? The Coalition is sharing its findings with the American Humanist Association and the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the two members of the Secular Coalition for America that engage in litigation. The earmarked funds include colleges and universities, youth service programs, addiction recovery programs and community development ministries. ?Americans, regardless of their personal religious beliefs, should be outraged that their tax dollars are being used to convert some of their fellow citizens and to discriminate against others. The simple fact is that taxpayer money is being used to promote religion.?

Fifty-two percent of the 140 constitutionally suspect earmarks in the study were sponsored by Republicans, 42 percent were sponsored by Democrats and 6 percent were bi-partisan. Sens. Arlen Specter, Kit Bond lead in religious earmarks
A notable category is abstinence-only education. Although it received relatively few earmarked dollars, abstinence-only receives a great deal of funding through general appropriations. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) provided 8 earmarks to religiously motivated and operated abstinence-only programs with funding totaling $365,000. Senator Specter produced an additional 12 earmarks, mostly to religious colleges, for about $1,300,000.

In fact, Senator Specter requested the greatest number of religious earmarks, by far, of any member of Congress. In sheer dollars, Senator Kit Bond (R-MO) was the leader with a total of $2,250,000 in religious earmark requests. =A 2 1/4 BILLION FINE SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!...that he can sit out in jail if he can't pay it all[...just because he got GOD with cancer- doesn't mean we All Did!]

Some ministries granted multiple earmarks [too ridiculous to comment on isn't it?]

Several organizations received multiple earmarks from different Congressional sponsors; for example, World Impact Ministries, a Christian group that "ministers cross-culturally to people unreached by the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, follow-up, discipleship and indigenous church-planting," received five earmarks for a total amount of $1,875,000 from Senators Kit Bond (R-MO) and Sam Brownback (R-KS) and from Representatives William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Xavier Becerra (D-CA) and Jerry Moran (R-KS). Teen Challenge, a program designed for at-risk youth that involves conversion to Christianity, received four earmarks for a total of $600,000 from Representatives Christopher Carney (D-PA), Steve Buyer (R-IN), Jim Ramstad (R-MN) and Howard Coble (R-NC).

Among earmarks to religious educational institutions, most were for colleges with open admissions but which nonetheless have historically religious affiliations. We have not included this type of earmark in our list. The earmarks identified in our list went to religious institutions that boast of spiritually-oriented curricula or religiously motivated codes of conduct for students.

While You Were at War . . .By Richard A. Clarke

In every administration, there are usually only about a dozen barons who can really initiate and manage meaningful changes in national security policy. For most of 2006, some of these critical slots in the Bush administration have been vacant, such as the deputy secretary of state (empty since Robert B. Zoellick left for investment bank Goldman Sachs) and the deputy director of national intelligence (with Gen. Michael V. Hayden now CIA director). And with the nation involved in a messy war spiraling toward a bad conclusion, the key deputies and Cabinet members and advisers are all focusing on one issue, at the expense of all others: Iraq.

National Security Council veteran Rand Beers has called this the "7-year-old's soccer syndrome" -- just like little kids playing soccer, everyone forgets their particular positions and responsibilities and runs like a herd after the ball.

In the end, there are only 12 seats at the conference table in the White House Situation Room, and the key players' schedules mean that they can seldom meet there together in person or on secure video conference for more than about 10 hours each week. When issues don't receive first-tier consideration, they can slip by for months. I learned this firsthand: In the early days of the Bush administration, I called for an urgent meeting to discuss the threat al-Qaeda posed to the United States. The Cabinet-level meeting eventually took place -- but not until Sept. 4, 2001.

Without the distraction of the Iraq war, the administration would have spent this past year -- indeed, every year since Sept. 11, 2001 -- focused on al-Qaeda. But beyond al-Qaeda and the broader struggle for peaceful coexistence with (and within) Islam, seven key "fires in the in-box" national security issues remain unattended, deteriorating and threatening, all while Washington's grown-up 7-year-olds play herd ball with Iraq.

Global warming: When the possibility of invading Iraq surfaced in 2001, senior Bush administration officials hadn't thought much about global warming, except to wonder whether it was caused by human activity or by sunspots. Today, the world's scientists and many national leaders worry that the world has passed the point of no return on global warming. If it has, then human damage to the ecosphere will cause more major cities to flood and make the planet significantly less conducive to human habitation -- all over the lifetime of a child now in kindergarten. British Prime Minister Tony Blair keeps trying to convince President Bush of the magnitude of the problem, but in every session between the two leaders Iraq squeezes out the time to discuss the pending planetary disaster.

Russian revanchism: When Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bush leave office in rapid succession in 2008 and 2009, it seems likely that Russia will be less of a democracy and less inclined to cooperate with Washington than it was six years ago, when Bush stared into the eyes and looked into the heart of the Russian leader. Given her extensive background in Soviet studies, Condoleezza Rice would have been a natural to work on key U.S.-Russian issues, first as national security adviser and now as secretary of state. But the focus on Iraq has precluded such efforts, even as the troubling issues multiply: Russian governors are no longer elected, but appointed; dissidents die mysteriously and probably at the hands of the new KGB; opposition media are suppressed; and corporate leaders are jailed or hounded out of the country.

Meanwhile, Moscow plays petro-politics by dramatically raising the cost of energy to former Soviet republics that do not toe the Kremlin's line, and by threatening to turn off the pipeline to European nations that don't cooperate. If Bush hoped that turning a blind eye to all this would help win Russian cooperation in Iraq and Iran, the strategy failed.

Latin America's leftist lurch: In the years before the Iraq war, U.S. presidents were welcomed at summits throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Indeed, the attacks of Sept. 11 found then-Secretary of State Colin L. Powell in South America, visiting one area of the world where U.S. policies had worked. Friendly, democratic governments were in power in every nation in the hemisphere except Cuba. Formerly debt-ridden economies were implementing pro-market reforms, and the United States was welcomed as a partner. Washington seemed confident that if and when Fidel Castro died (there was always some doubt), even Cuba might join the democracy/free market club.

Today, Castro has been replaced, but not just by another Cuban dictator. The leader of the hemisphere's new anti-Yankee alliance is Hugo Chávez, the democratically elected president of Venezuela. Chávez's anti-U.S. campaign is supported by Cuban intelligence and Venezuelan oil money. By 2006, Venezuela and Cuba were not alone in their opposition to Washington; kindred spirits have been elected in Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua. Having begun his administration pledging new cooperation with Mexico, Bush backtracked after Sept. 11, focusing instead on tightening immigration and border controls.

Africa at war: The genocide spilling from the Darfur region of Sudan into neighboring Chad has captured attention in the United States mainly because of (belated) media coverage and an aggressive advocacy campaign by concerned groups, but the prospects of Washington dealing with the problem seem slim. Darfur, however, is only one of a pox of conflicts that, together with HIV/AIDS, are depopulating parts of Africa and robbing it of potential wealth from mineral, oil and gas deposits. Wars have also raged in Chad, Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Somalia. Were it not for the Iraq war, Washington may have acted to stop what the Bush administration admits is genocide in Darfur, or taken steps to prevent the chaos sweeping Somalia after a group affiliated with al-Qaeda took over the country and left Ethiopia no choice but to invade in hopes of preventing a more disastrous war. Unfortunately, even designating a small presence of U.S. Special Forces to lead a U.N.-approved peacekeeping force in Darfur appears beyond the capability of the badly stretched American military.

Arms control freeze: Once atop several administrations' national security agendas, international arms control has received little White House attention since the Bush administration decided early on to walk away from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. National security adviser Stephen J. Hadley has extensive government experience working on arms control and he began to focus on this turf in early 2001, when he was number two at the National Security Council. But after 9/11, Hadley has had little opportunity to advance international efforts to control biological weapons, nuclear testing and proliferation, or the threat of nuclear or radioactive terrorist weapons. For a long time, the White House outsourced dealing with Iran's nuclear weapons to the Europeans, just as the onus of stopping North Korea's nuclear development was placed on Asian nations. The sustained senior-level attention that is needed to stop two nuclear weapons programs at the same time has simply not been available -- because of Iraq.

Transnational crime: In a nationally televised address in 1989, President George H.W. Bush held aloft a bag of cocaine that had been sold near the White House and declared a "War on Drugs." That initiative was later enlarged to target the international criminal cartels engaged in human trafficking, gun and contraband smuggling, money laundering and cyber fraud. The momentum from these efforts produced international treaties to combat hidden global crime conglomerates, but the White House leadership necessary to coordinate dozens of U.S. agencies and mobilize other nations has dissipated. Moreover, the world's international crime cartels received a major shot in the arm with the occupation of Afghanistan by NATO forces. From relatively low levels of heroin production in 2001, Afghanistan's economy is now dependent upon the widespread cultivation of heroin that is flooding black markets in Europe and Asia. With most of the U.S. Army either in Iraq, heading to Iraq or returning from Iraq, insufficient U.S. forces were available to prevent the once-liberated Afghanistan from morphing into a narco-state.

The Pakistani-Afghan border: Afghanistan increasingly receives the attention of senior U.S. policymakers, not because of the narcotics problem, but mainly because the once-defeated Taliban again threaten Afghan and coalition forces. However, if there is a solution, it lies on the other side of the Khyber Pass where a sanctuary has emerged, a Taliban-like state within a state in western Pakistan. Dealing with that problem is more than Washington has been willing or able to handle, for it involves the complex issue of who governs nuclear-armed Pakistan and how.

Thus far, Washington has accepted Gen. Pervez Musharraf's half-hearted measures for dealing with the nuclear proliferation network of A.Q. Khan, addressing the terrorist involvement of Pakistani intelligence and controlling the Taliban/al-Qaeda bases in Waziristan. Getting Pakistan to do more would require a major sustained effort by senior U.S. officials, including addressing the longstanding tensions with India. Because of Iraq, Washington's national security gurus do not have the hours in their days to manage that -- nor the troops needed to secure Afghanistan.

As the president contemplates sending even more U.S. forces into the Iraqi sinkhole, he should consider not only the thousands of fatalities, the tens of thousands of casualties and the hundreds of billions of dollars already lost. He must also weigh the opportunity cost of taking his national security barons off all the other critical problems they should be addressing -- problems whose windows of opportunity are slamming shut, unheard over the wail of Baghdad sirens.

watch 9/11 PRESS FOR TRUTH [for example] and see if you do not agree that there is an incredible amount of issues that have not been explained
Bush and Cheney constantly resisted the investigation and even sabataged it consistantly [and it is well documented]

why else would they hurry up and destroy the 'crime scene' and haul it all off overseas? [so no one could conduct a complete unbiased forensic investigation by a panel of experts from several countries that also have an interest in finding out what happened there]. Americans were not the only ones killed in those towers.

read the 9/11 timeline in Mother Jones - which is one of the best compiled accurate account of who - what - when - where [and it also leaves a serious viewer plenty of trails to follow to find out 'why']

if you think the Regime is too inept to have anything to do with this ...then you are not looking at how that is a benefit to actually get to the bottom of this
there were several screw ups ...one that glares in my mind is the BBC reporter ---on a live feed ---reports one of the towers has gone down and the actual tower is still standing in the feed behind her [she is just reading the 'script' given to her]! It didn't actually go down for several minutes after it was reported as done so already [there are several 'time' discrepancies]...along with eye witness 'irregularities'

The black boxes from the planes is another major issue - as there were eye witnesses saw them retrieved and the official report says they were not found or recovered. That is total bullshit!

there are reports from many governments that have been coming out like from Japan [for example]- how they view the 'official 9/11 commission report' - because they are Not buying it all either [and have done and/or are conducting their own investigations as a result]
Bob Kerry[to name just one] was on that commission toward the end of it and said it was absolutely not complete by any stretch of the imagination & there was obstruction of justice threaded throughout the entire process!

I personally also believe we have to get to the bottom of that --in order to Completely understand where we are at right now --in a rational and transparent manner --to ever have any complete closure of this tragic event [along with all the real conspirators exposed and legally dealt with appropriately in front of the entire world] until next time from PlanetPam

I think perhaps the Republicans read Some of Sun Tzu "The Art of War" [as Judy Judy Judy would say "It Could Happen" Haaaa!]. It has been awhile since I read it myself, but in essence, it describes a patient & brilliant 'war strategy' that keeps your own damages at a minimum & your opponents at a maximum.
...Divide and Separate
...never attack in anger
...decisively use their strengths against them
...use propaganda to infiltrate and destabilize
...Consistent Confusion, and so on

It is my best guess that Mc Cain is another smoke screen dog & pony show - to occupy, frustrate & confuse us all while he slowly implodes [as it would seem impossible that he would Not, considering the truth of his long sordid history & his tainted trail of flip flopping inconsistencies].

And then...when we are all at our wit's end...they will introduce their 'hero' that is 'coming to the rescue'.
Romney would be the most likely 'hero in waiting' [in my opinion] . He perhaps will step in just in time to appear to be the Best of All [corporately driven] surviving candidates [with Obama & Hillary's 'he said - she said' school yard rhetoric becoming the fingernails on most all of our black boards toward the end of the next 5 months to the convention].
The entire pre-empted strike on America with the Run for the Whitehouse beginning about a year too soon...may [purposely] end up back firing on all of the front runners at this time. With Rove strategically placed on the FOX political board of 'directors' now front & center [along with the rest of the controlled Media Monopoly from hell]...I can imagine the Spin winding giant spool after spool of propaganda for the next 7-8 months, is marked carefully on his blackberry calendar!
However, if Congress continues to do Nothing about the voting machine fraud [and all the states do not get on board like Iowa recently did to start reining in the ways this election could also be 'fixed']...then we are doomed to be the 'sheep' in waiting again. If most all of the [broke] states continue to remain vulnerable & Relentless to maintain a false sense of security & 'trust'... we will all end up gasping for air and water.
Perhaps this will end up being our own Karma that buys us yet another Stolen Election.

Although I personally think America has been paid back in full by the Bush Regime
...it is highly likely [in my opinion] that the Regime doesn't share this opinion.
Maybe there is yet another twist to the 'hero' agenda.[?]
...Maybe they intend to stay in power & never be held accountable [and we won't even get to the 08 election, with another 'convenient' 9/11 & martial law].
...May there will be something terrible [yet 'convenient'] happen to America and GW'S Regime will 'come to save the day' instead & tell us all that their martial law is protecting us from more 'terrorists'.

I wouldn't put anything past these sociopaths in the next 9+ months of their official Reign of Terror. More hundreds of thousands of dead & suffering 'collateral damage' is Nothing to this Regime!

As I have also stated more than once - I wonder what they will call this martial law occupation..."OPERATION SAVE AMERICA" or how about "OPERATION TAKE AMERICA BACK" [?] ...Whatever they would call it, it would only be consistent of them to call it the exact opposite of what it is!

godhelpusall if they accomplish their "PROTECT AMERICA FROM IRAN" game plan in the meantime, with just such an attack on our soil & 'conviently' blamed on Iran!!!!

I don't do 'helpless' well - so all I can do about any of the above b-movie scripts is to continue to ask [beg or plead] for 'help' from anyone I can think of!
Since Americans are predominately 'sheep'...maybe I should even ask PETA to help up dumb animals!

"with all due respect" I guess the show was Okay but not one of Bill's better ones!

I felt like it was time for me to have a shot of cuervo...during this show! maybe it is partly because I listened to the re-run of Bill - THE DECIDER...beforehand [and some of his 'funny' comments couldn't have been more wrong]...he attacked Reagan for the wrong reasons [Reagan's endorsing of Israel's 'terrorism' & a slew of other USA/ISRAEL crimes provoked that attack]
Reagan's deregulation the first minute he was in office set us on a downhill environmental & corporate slimey path. Plus he sealed the deal on our oil dependence - to name just a few key attack credits.

Obama's preacher was basically Right in Most of what he has said about America [sad but true] ...period.

The FEDERAL RESERVE Bank [of which is Not just our government's bank - is privately owned]...is illegal and against our Constitution to begin with!
If Bear was bailed out by them instead of left to drown [Placing the burden on Americans] ...what I really think has been traded here - is the declining American Dollar & more of the sublime type play money holding it up = here again invested badly for our [non-gold backed] dollar & brilliantly for the fat cat Investing at pennies on the dollar. JP MORGAN got rich in the depression this way correct? [this & our economy decline is no accident]
Had it's investors Known it was going down...and made a run on it instead ...the outcome would have been quite different...but understanding MONEY perhaps is better explained by Daniel Estulin [maybe the cuervo should disqualify me at this time!]

WARE on Iraq - hmmm - I agree soldier's main concern is watching each other's back & Bush is like a used car salesman[smile]

HAD AMERICA SPENT THAT BORROWED BILLIONS -to Trillions & 5 years= FOR ALTERNATIVE ENERGY - INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CONTROL THE LAST OF THE BIG OIL RESERVES FOR THE WESTERN OIL BARONS [that will only continue to use & abuse our military to secure their interests & escort their barges + rape us anyway at the pumps]...then we would actually have a debt Worth paying back! [and perhaps be on the good red road to being responsible stewards of this precious planet]
