Serious withdrawal!
I don't know how you all are feeling right now but I can tell you that my Sunday night routine is disrupted with True Blood being off the air right now. I am going through some serious withdrawal...
I am watching the vampire diaries which is good but high school in comparison ! Doesn't quite compare and the vampire main character is no Bill Compton. I love Bill and am curious as to whether AB will play the story like the book or put his own twist to it.
Although I think Eric is attractive I don't particularly like him as a person but I do hope that it is not him that took Bill and it is instead Lorena, who like in the books will meet her end...sorry to anyone having not read those books....I just spilled the beans...lol
How about everyone out there? How are you fairing without our favorite Sunday night pastime? Are you as lost as I am? Until next time...:-x

True Blood season 1 & 2
Okay, for all you fans out there who have not purchased the DVD's yet, amazon has a preorder for season two for $38.99 and the first season is only $32.99. Both great prices if you ask me. Well worth it so if you need to buy them, consider it thru Amazon. I am not sure how long these prices will be good cause I have purchased other items which days later went up in price...So act fast!

well it has been almost a week
Okay we have officially started our dry spell...I am so sad that I will have nothing to watch this week on HBO. What will we do until the next season starts?
I hope that it turns out to be Lorena that takes Bills Like the books. I appreciate the fact that Alan Ball takes a bit of flexibility with the books but that is one part of the story that I would not like to see change.
I have started to get into the vampire Diaries on the CW and it is actually really good. It does not have the same amount of cleverness and humor to it that True Blood offers but because I am so interested in the genre, I watch it. It is a respectable substitute and I would recommend that if anyone is hard up for the vampire genre than give it a shot. You might be surprised. When I first watched it I was not so much interested in the main character Stephan ( he is no Bill ) but after a few minutes he definitely grew on me... I actually find myself somewhat attracted to him now.
What are you thoughts? How are all you going to spend the Fall? am reading Black Dagger Brotherhood and watching Vampire diaries, which definitely helps...]:)

Season Finale...
So what did everyone think? They didn't drag out the whole Maryann thing too long, thank goodness. I was sort of sad to see the demise of Eggs. He was pretty yummy but Jason got a little trigger happy. And I loved that Sam was the one that killed Maryann after all she did to him.
Poor Bill after feeding Sam, to be so weak and have Sookie not offer up her blood and then tell him to get rid of the body in his weakened state. Just a little insensitive if you ask me...
And Sookie, I wouldn't have even thought about the marriage proposal thing...Bill looked so utterly devastated when she said she couldn't give him an answer. Stupid, stupid girl...if you are worried about getting old, well then have them make you over. Simple answer to the issue.
I was unhappy to see Hoyt show up a little too late. I realize that what Jessica did was a little over the top but she is a new vampire and Hoyts mom is a pill. I think I could have done worse to her than what Jessica did. I can't believe I have to wait another six months before the next season and we find out what Lorena did to Bill...Oh what a tragic six months...

The Vampire Diarys
:-xOk, so after much questionable anticipation I tuned in to the Vampire Diaries on the CW. I have not read the books so I am new to this whole story. But having been an admitted fan of True Blood and Twilight, I thought I would give it a shot. Plus every review I have read gave it two thumbs up, not that I listen to reviews any ways.
The first day of school reminded me of Twilight but with roles reversed, new guy, vampire...I have not quite decided whether or not I like the guy playing Stephan. I think anyone who chooses to play a vampire has big shoes to fill because everyone already has a pre-conceived notion as to what they should look like. He is handsome, but not like a Edward handsome, and not a sexy Bill handsome either.
The few special effects were not bad, actually tolerable. In this version they can be out in the daylight with the assistance of a family heirloom ring. Might make their life a little less complicated. The "love" interest is a dead ringer reincarnation of Stephan's love from Civil War days. I like also that it takes place in a historic area that includes historical events. I think it adds something to the story, as we shall further see as the story goes along.
In some respects I feel like the CW jumped on board because of the success of shows like True Blood and the movie Twilight but kudos to them...the books from which this show is based came out years before Twilight so this carefully orchestrated release of the Vampire Diaries is long overdue, in my opinion.
Anyone looking for a different take and a new fresh show to tide you over while we wait for another twilight movie and another season of True Blood, might be surprised...check it out. Thursdays, CW PM.

A new take on Vamps...
So I am always on the lookout for a new vampire movie to "sink my teeth into" and I came across a trailer for a movie coming out this winter called Daybreakers with Ethan Hawke. As I am no great fan of his, I did however find the premise of this movie fascinating.
It takes place sometime in the future and humans have become extinct. Most inhabitants of earth are now immortal and hunt what is left of the human race. The only problem? They are running out of humans in which to feed on. Enter Ethan Hawke, who is a vampire and discovers a way of bringing the human population back from the brink of destruction. They have developed a serum for changing people back from a vampire to a human.
Sam Neill is the resident vampire who given the chance neither wants it nor finds it even remotely desirable. He loves being immortal and stresses that the cure to their problem is not in changing everyone back but creating something else chemically that will sustain them.
Maybe the vampires in Bon Temps should tell them about True Blood lol...
The movie looks action packed and the special effects are tolerable. I think the intriguing aspect is the story. It parallels what could happen to us if we were to continuously take without giving back. And the whole changing back prospect...If you were turned and had the opportunity to change back, would you? And would you start to age normally again or catch up for all the years you were stuck at one age? That would help me decide real quick...what about you?B-)

Does anyone know...
Hey does anyone know whether or not we will be able to buy True Blood the drink anyplace other than HBO? Just a bit curious about where it is being marketed.

The second to the last...
As I anticipate the next episode, I can't help thinking about the fact that it will be the last episode for about six months. HBO has some good programming to occupy my Sundays and the other networks are putting their shows back on with new episodes but I still can't help mourning the loss of my favorite show for the time being.
So do you think the next season will include Eric loosing his memory and a coven of witches? That might be interesting. Anything is better than that Manaed thing we have been forced to watch every week. I hope Hoyt comes to his senses and begs forgiveness from Jessica. His mother is a pill and I don't blame Jessica in the slightest for biting her.
I have seen enough "bad" naked in the last eleven episodes to last me a lifetime. Hopefully we are done with all the crazy orgies, unless there are beautiful vampires involved. lol.
Bill can just continue to be Bill, which is enough for me...I love him and I am saddened by the fact that he and Sookie may be breaking up soon.
Anyone as excited as me about True Blood the drink coming out this month? I am buying one for sure, just to check it out and keep it as a memento of my favorite show. Hopefully it is actually good and takes off like Red Bull or something.
I guess I understand their logic reshowing the last three episodes over a holiday weekend but it is a bummer none the less. Au Revoir BON TEMPS Fans...:-x

ok so I am a day early...
Is anyone like me, anticipating the weekend just to watch another episode of True Blood. Oh what will I do when we have the season Finale in two weeks? I don't usually like Sundays since it is the prelude to the new work week but since True Blood Came on, well I am so hooked on Sundays. I sometimes wish though that the premier episode was shown on Saturday night instead...
So I hear that a box set of Sookie Stackhouse books are set to be released in September. Early investigations have shown that it might be best to purchase books 1-8 at Walmart, all you fans out there. Just a heads up...
I have to say that I did not enjoy all the time Jason was at the Fellowship of the Sun but I think it may have done good things for him. He is stepping up to be quite a leader in the chaos that is Bon Temps right now. Sookie has been better the last few episodes too, not so whiney and a bit more spunk in here, fighting for her man...go Sookie.
As always...love Bill. Wouldn't do a thing to change him. Maybe book eight will reunite Sookie and Bill...one can only hope! Until tomorrow...]:)

Tonight's episode (episode 10)
Okay, just got done watching tonight's episode and I have to say that it was pretty good. The dream shots with Eric are getting more and more vivid. Sookie seems to be enjoying them too. No wonder Bill was a tad bit perturbed about it.
What the heck is up with all the meat and dead things on the alter? And Merlottes, again nasty orgy happenings in there. Very disturbing, to say the least. Jason however was a breath of fresh air, going in there all GI Joe, armed with the chain saw. Too funny! And the arms on him....whoa!
Lafayette talking about Tara's intervention...that was a classic too. There were a lot of very clever one liner's tonight. I am glad too that the cat is out of the bag about Sam. Couldn't help but do his shifting thing in front of witnesses. Oh well, this town has seen a lot of strange happenings lately so that shouldn't be that big a deal.
Hoyt's mom is a narrow minded bigot and that is one woman(and Maryanne too) that I wouldn't mind seeing killed off. The way she was coming on to Jason made me throw up a little in my mouth...lol.
Poor Bill getting sick after biting that nasty Maenad. I am afraid that Maryann is in it till the end. Hopefully the season finale will include her timely and long awaited demise? One can only hope. It would make the season finale more anticipated if we knew she would be leaving the show.
Maybe then we could get back to the heart and soul of the show? The vampires and their interaction with the humans. They got a little off track this season. I have read the books and realize that we should be entering werewolve territory soon, but werewolves and vampires go hand in hand, so that won't be too bad.
What did you all think about the show tonight? I thought it was good and look forward to the next installment next week...until then aurevoir!;)

Did anyone see the scenes for the next episode? I swear that in all the confusing fast shots I saw Hoyt with sharp teeth. Or maybe that was just a mistake...I wonder if he asks Jessica to make him over or if he will stay human?
The black soulless eyes drive me crazy and freak me out just a bit too. Can't wait till Maryann gets hers and I am counting on it. So help me, if she is still in it by next season I will have to rethink AB's genius.
I am thrilled however to find out that True Blood will be back for season three, but sad to think that Sookie and Bill may be over after this season, if it goes the way of the books.
Eric is dangerous and nice to look at but he lacks compassion and I don't think that he has Sookie's best interests in mind. He strikes me as selfish and a bit detached.
Can't wait till tomorrow, until then...:-D

well thank you all...
I thought it was just me with my dissatifaction with some of this seasons themes but I am glad that there are others out there that feel the same way I do about it. I do not want to see this series end up like Deadwood and Rome, canceled after two seasons. I love the show and would be so sad to see it end so quickly. In the world of tv, two seasons is nothing.
I realize that all shows eventually come to an end but this one just got up and running.
I did read the books and I have to say that I agree that the character of Sookie frustrated the heck out of me after awhile. She was so chaste until Bill then after Bill, it is like she didn't care anymore who she was with or how many she was with. It got very troublesome to see her act like this and I hope with the next book that she reunites Sookie with her one true love....Bill. I just love him in the show and I have to say I saw Stephen Moyer on TMZ talking with his accent...sheesh. I know that if Bill had an accent like that if I were Sookie, I wouldn't be going anywhere with anyone else.
Eric's character is nice but he doesn't love Sookie for the same reasons that Bill does. He just wants what he cannot have.
Sam needs to be the one to kill off Maryanne and soon. I saw the scenes for this weeks episode and it looks like the vampires might get involved? Not sure but I think even Bill feels powerless against that freak. All I know is is that she has wore out her welcome with me!
Hope they continue with Hoyt and Jessica, as I find them really refreshing and cute together. Until next episode...ta, ta!:-x

Hello True Blood Fans, okay well first season anyways...
Okay, I am glad that after my last posting there are a few people on board with me about this seasons content on True Blood. I watched last weeks episode in unbridled anticipation that we would be done with the whole Fellowship of the Sun plot. It more or less came to a head but it is still not completely over. The whole bomb thing is sort of weak. I am glad however to see Jason come around and show some family loyalty towards Sookie.
Bill was much improved in this episode, more or less telling Lorena to buzz off and that Sookie is the current love of his life. Eric, well Eric is just fine. Loving him more and more each week. And Godrick...he is a tiny little man but attractive none the less. I think I like him and wouldn't mind seeing a little of him some more.
What a relief to see Lafayette back in the saddle so to speak. That is what made him so darned entertaining in the first season. Hopefully they will let him continue to play up his character.
Jessica/Hoyt is adorable. Last season I was not a great supporter of the whole Bill making Jessica thing but I will admit that Jessica does not distract Bill too much. I love that AB took Jessica and matched her with the Mama's boy Hoyt. It makes that storyline very entertaining to watch.
Maryann, not a big fan. Actually hate her and her stupid character. I hate what she has done to Tara and what she is doing to the towns people. The orgies are ridiculous and the vibrating...Lets just be done with her. I hope Sam will get the honors and soon cause if I have to watch her until the finale...I think it is a waste of the hour we are given to watch the show.
This show is about Bon Temps and Sookie and Bill's relationship. It has gotten of track and darned confusing at times, the way it jumps around. Still LOVE Bill though and although Sookie may eventually hook up with Eric I would be sad to see Sookie/Bill come to an end. He will forever be my Favorite vamp.
Sookie, talk about whining this season. If I was Bill, other than the sex I may be tired of her and her continuous whining about everything. Oh well, there is always this week...:-p

Last nights episode in review
Well I tuned in for another episode of my favorite show. Does anyone agree with me that it seems as though Sookie has taken a back-burner to all the other storylines that are going on in the show? It was about her last season with a little of other people's drama thrown in, now it is way too much other stuff going on and very little of Sookie. I think it is too much, they need to scale it back a bit like it was before.
Okay enough said...I did not like the side of Bill that they showed last night with Lorena. I realize that not every vampire starts out with a gentle nature but man...he was ruthless. I hate MaryAnn with a vengeance and if Sam or someone doesn't kill her off soon...well I will be bummed out. I feel like fast forwarding through all her parts but I am still to curious to do that.
I am not used to seeing Lafayette so weaB-)k around people. Part of what made him fun was his flamboyance. I hope he gets some of that back soon.
Well fans, tell me what you think...am I just being overly critical?

30 days of night
]:)I am a fan of all things vampire so it is only natural to want to watch all the movies about the subject. On demand had "30 Days of Night" and as I have not seen it yet, I had to watch it. The first ten minutes almost persuaded me to turn it off...(I abhor scenes where they mutilate, torture or kill animals) but I am thankful for the fast-forward button.
It was a clever take on Vampires and sending them to a location where they are free to feast for days and not worry about the sun coming up. Their teeth were a bit disturbing though, different from the typical "Vampire fang" instead rows of sharp, pointed teeth, like a saw. And their dialect was cool, sort of European sounding. The leader was scary looking without looking "vampirish" almost like a creepy 1950's funeral director or something but with a ghostly white pallor and bad teeth. It was what they described... "gore-fest" but for two hours (minus fast forward time) I was entertained. If you want to know whether it was worth it or not, well my friends you will have to decide that on your own. I on the other hand, found that it was a fair to moderately entertaining take on the genre.
