The latest rumor is Obama will be abandoning Health care reform altogether. Did I expect complete overhaul of the the health care system into an "one payer system?" Never. Did I expect the watered down "public option?" At the very least. Did I expect the President to make good on his words? I had doubts, but not anymore. So much for an ideal liberal. Hey, the only thing "dirty Dems" changed is the shade of their Kingpin. That's it, back to the ultra conservative Republican that I was. -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com

To Northlion, Yes, I'm backing my president on this one ALL the WAY. I've at least 5 counterspins directed at the effects of economic recovery on the pitch for health care reform right off top of my head. Our MSM v2.0 is asleep, or doing the usual drill downs in all the wrong areas. -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com

Larry King (the King of Media), is the King I turn to whenever I feel like...Rusty & Danny's Oprah scene in Ocean's Thirteen: Youtube Link Unlike Oprah, the King has far more history, experiences and wisdom. I guess the best example of this difference would be Wolf Blitzer's Late Edition and some succeeding show with some young jock whose name I can't even remember and don't bother after few views. IMHO, the King's unique TV personality brings out superior elation of the best and worse events/people in the news with certain natural drama that are provocative and entertaining, but never assailing. The King doesn't advocate or judge; his fair opinions had always been fluidly commingled admissibly with the interactions and correspondences. I don't glue to his show, but the aforementioned are the reasons why I always turn to his show to feel good. That's also the reason why I consider Larry King as the King of the media. --- That's also the reason I find Kathy Griffin's bruise intolerable, because she was sitting on the wrong side of the table. -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com

Reply from my sibling and her wife who used to work in ER. --- From my standpoint, this is often true. Americans have different view of dying than many cultures. Family wants to do everything. Medical sciences consider quality of care base on mortality and not so much on quality of life or personal value. There's more emphasis now on advanced directive so pts can determine what they would want in their last days/months. --- From: obfuscate e-address Subject: Can you and Moon read about this and let me know what you think? To: obfuscate e-address Date: Thursday, August 13, 2009, 4:12 AM WSJ Article: Life, Death and Money in the ICU Thanks. --- MSM v2.o is going to have a good time on this one. The right that is wrong, and the left that is not right will be having a lot of fun on this one. Now, we all know how the late George Carlin feels about this, but what would Mr. Maher say? -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com

Fareed Zakaria's, " The Capitalist Manifesto," is a good read. I tracked his GPS program on CNN from the very beginning. I loved it, but I'm certain CNN was a little skeptical because most Americans don't care much for int'l politics, except our wars and propaganda. Unlike uncle Simon, who raved over his book, I see him as a journalist who connects more dots, thus writes more comprehensive reports. I'm not sure why, but I hold an erroneous or even comical suspicion of him as some dude who is an associate of school of Kissinger or some shit like that. Call me a nutcase, but I actually feel like he is holding back on some of the contents in this article. I'm too lazy to express some serious and coherent interpretations and comparisons to the books I read by Dr . Brzezinski (aka the ZMan) . --- So here are some generic (non comical) counter spins: "More than 400 million people across Asia have been lifted out of poverty. Between 2003 and 2007, average income worldwide grew at a faster rate (3.1 percent) than in any previous period in recorded human history...Many of these countries had more cash than they knew what to do with. China sits on a war chest of more than $2 trillion, while eight other emerging-market nations have reserves of more than $100 billion. They've all looked to the safest investment they could imagine?U.S. government debt." That's why they should thank us for our "favorite activity: shopping." Hey, after all, "...None of this has happened because businesspeople have suddenly become more immoral. It is part of the opening up and growing competitiveness of the business world. Many of the old banks and law firms operated as monopolies or cartels. They could afford to take the long view. They were also run by a WASP elite secure in its privilege." Fareed just said it at the beginning of the article that the old farts had to deal with the challenge of hegemony, which makes it possible for them to, "...More broadly...globalized the economies of nations. Trade, travel and tourism are bringing people together." aka more ownership of the world to serve, "the WASP elite." I'm not even going to worry about some new economic wheel that had been never driven before. "The members of today's meritocratic elite are more anxious and insecure. They know that they are being judged quarter by quarter," and that's the reason why the WASP Elites print more money for us to buy, while telling the "yellow" to do the same so they can keep the big wheel spinning...a lot faster. Personally, I am concern about the speed of the big wheel that might kill the planet through just about everything we read in the news from CO2 to genocides. The wheel might slow down a bit, but don't count on counter spin, because...can you imagine, us, the WASPs smuggle ourselves into India/China to do jobs the Indians/Chinese won't do? Therefore, Fareed's comments about better global friendship blah blah blah do make sense. Oh uh, this is where the conspiracy theories about one global government comes in. I don't really believe these conspiracies, but according to the article, these "WASP Elites," do exist, and if they are around, I'd be on their good side. Any comments? --- "The failure of self-regulation over the past 20 years?in investment banking, accounting, rating agencies?has led inevitably to the rise of greater government regulation. This marks an important change in the Anglo-American world, away from informal rules often enforced by private actors toward the more formal bureaucratic system common in continental Europe." I'm going to agree with Fareed on this one. It's always the western empires fucking around behind the scenes. "It's always the fucking British." -Bill Maher -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com

Monday, August 10, 2009 Taiwan Mudslide May Have Buried 600 Villagers Along With My Dream Looks like mother nature wiped out my business plan for a coffee farm in Taiwan. Redundant sources of aids, finance, numbers, backup supplier chains to deal with natural contingency risks were addressed almost like SOP, based on agricultural plans, references and analysis I compiled. Nonetheless, mother nature took away the only rare stage of my life for it. Looks like local labor, retirement, and burial it is. The only only problem is, I really don't like my hood all that much anymore. -- http://msmcop.blogspot.com
