After you learn what's on it you can go and any direc- tion you want. For the maximum benefit I strongly suggest that you should pick a foreign langu- age that's widely spoken in your area.
I've been studying this stuff for a few years, so I have a lotta different material on the Arabic language now, (audio's, books, other CD roms from different companies including Rosetta Stone and etc) but this is the best starter on the market.
The reason I like Rosetta Stone's CD Rom set is it teaches you the language of your choosing in the same manner that you learn your first language. Using pictures matching what you see with the word.
When you think about it, you learned to speak English on your own. NOBODY taught you how to speak English.
Nobody made any interpretations for you.
You automatically learned how to speak English by merely growing up in a household where the English language was spoken.....But,..
As far as starters go I still think Topics entertainment instant immersion beats Rosettta Stone hands -down, I have them both. In other words if you were a foreign diplomat and had to learn a foreign language quick I would suggest Topics entertainment instant immersion CD ROM.
What ever language you decide to pick you should be speaking it relatively well after just two weeks
My original starter two disk CD Rom set was bought have a few years ago, It would now be classified in the category they now call 2.0.
