I am new to this blog and didn't realize you had written me specifically on 9/10. You claim I don't know you and can't judge your statement, then you proceed to make a ton of assumptions about me and how I think. I haven't been around the world as much as you, been I've been around some. I also work in an industry that has more employees from Asia and India than our own country, and I spend alot of time talking with them. I stand by what I said. Nothing in your message to me that you sent indicated that we have lost the Freedom of Speech in this country. A person is free to say whatever they want and I believer more so than in most any other country in the world. I can imagine you are probably in love with secular Europe (sorry if that asumption is wrong), yet even European newspapers can't put anything in about Mohamad without fear of the publicist being killed. So we even have more freedom here than there. Here, if you throw poop on a religious painting of Mary or Jesus it is hailed as art. There in Europe you would get killed for doing that to Mohammad. And this is just one tiny example in the supposedly most liberal continent (Europe) in the world. And if you are referring to Big Brother gov't listening in on your cell phone, well I have news for you, they don't care about our puny little lives, they only care about international calls revolving around terrorists. Seen any terrorist explosions since 9/11 in the US? Hmmm, wonder why. I don't doubt as an Army Intel brat that you have seen some interesting things. But your point to say we have lost freedom of speech is 100% false. Perhaps you have a say in the debate on loss of privacy - but not freedom of speech. Prove to me what is not allowed to be said in this country (excluding things that would harm others).
