First, I believe you are a wonderful human being for choosing this profession. You don't need to be "perfect" to help patients. Truly caring about them is a super start.
Two, I believe you will see a bit of each character, maybe more, in each of your patients. Thinks lots of anger and anxiety.
They are damaged, some beyond repair, and it is our job to help them uncover, admit and deal with their demons.
It is difficult to see some of the beautiful, talented and wonderful human beings who would succumb to these forces were it not for mental health professionals. Think Heath Ledger.
I believe this show portrays an accurate picture from both sides of the couch...
