For some reason I still cannot figure out why members of MSM, include TEAM MSNBC who had helped to sell the Iraq War get the love from President Obama, but not Mr. Maher...yet.
President Obama was right about the fallout of the Iraq War then, yet he is so quickly to diss those VERY few talented icons with reach to the mass who were outspoken against the "leadership of the country," at the time and paid heavy prices.
A new administration doesn't always renew the aspirations of ALL war weary Americans, especially after one of the wrong war(s). Divisions in the medias had successfully distracted the people's attention through perspective positions on various 'other' issues, with no viable alternative leadership against the renewal and expanding multi-national wars based on a decade old justification (our funding and military commitment had been extended to the minimum of the end of 9th year since invasion). The extension of this commitment is far longer to those nationals who continue to perceive us as invaders with certain indisputable validity. This is a grand contradiction to END a war by any logic.
Guess what the WAR weary Americans have in common? Nonetheless, we're caged in our perspective parties through traditional ideological differences , despite other commonalities such as the hardship of high unemployment rates and evaporation of our savings, etc. The MSM is very powerful because they control the arousal and focus of agendas of their choice.
Forget an explanation to the Americans, but keep in mind the world is taking notes on how the country that prides itself with freedom and free speech can be manipulated to be silent on contradictory actions and stretch the support for both a wrong war and the expansion of another one through thick and skull for at least ONE decade.
When will President Obama find it convenient or necessary to have dialogues with those who oppose resource hogging foreign commitments, escalations, and expansions to end a war he didn't start?
Who else would be better to start this dialogue, then the very few who had paid hefty tolls along the navigation of the same high road?
