Band of Brothers is an amazing mini-series. It is very well put together, and it it isn't hollywood, this is really what happened. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg did a great job with Saving Private Ryan, and they had another great sucess here with this one. Everyone who is very interested in World War II like me should watch this series.

Lissa, good on you for having the chance to meet Perco. And for conveying the appreciation of all of us for his service. And it's great that Perco is having the chance to be appreciated. Good on you and good on the production.

Yeah I'm only a 17 year old girl but I love Band of Brothers. It's the best thing I've ever seen. And tonight I went to my aunt's uncle's Wake and got to meet Frank Perconte who I'm related to. He is very nice and invited me to his house to talk and give me an autograph. I would give anything to live a life like he did. Being so heroic and doing so much for our country. He must be very proud and I envy everything he has gotten to do in his life, even being shot in the butt. Well, not really in the butt.. he got shot in the front and it went thru to his butt. But still, ouch. I liked the Airborne pin he wore on his jacket. I want one. But, after I get to go to his house and speak more with him I will have more to say.. not that anyone cares but that's erright.

LOL JDK, That is good unless the enemy is approaching in a jump to the left then right path which coincides with your left right blinking thus staying in your blind eye during the approach. Maybe you can adjust and go left, right, both. That should solve the problem.........but who's got your back?

JDK, OK. A secret mission of that magnitude should warrant an excusable absence from your sector especially since it was a successful mission. I don't think Colonel LJ is going to accept a "beware of kerchunking" sign as an acceptable replacement for a secure sector on the perimeter. Remember we don't want any Hinkles on our side. Sleep with one eye open. Doug, I've had a lot going on this summer and still do right now so I've had very limited time to spend on-line. I miss it too. Good to know you are still checking on this board to keep me and Kevin in line. Thanks. Lane

Lane, I was off on a mission so secret that even I did not know what the mission was, but the mission was accomplished---I think. I guess the "Beware of kerchunking" sign I placed at my post did not deter the unwashed. Anyway, we are back on post now and I trust LongJohn will understand or else I will be "Kerchunking in the Rain" a la Gene Kelley.

Lane and Jane, great to hear from y'all. And good to know that the center remains protected by ker-chunking. Good on y'all, Doug

Jane, Good to know you are still there. I was expecting some serious kerchunks in response to my mentioning the dreaded DVD but it seems there may be somebody a.w.o.l on the east perimeter. JDK??? You may have extra duty if Colonel LJ should hear about this. Ever practiced bayonet drills in a hurricane? Bring the rainsuit.

Wow, there alot of posts on this topic. I guess i'm a year or two late to be talking about the show now. but i saw it when it was on the History Channel. It was great! That was a completely different look on war. I read the book and i thought they did a good job. I brought the DVDs too.
