Dear rcrickett, I remember your posts early in the first airing of Band of Brothers on HBO. There is an Easy Company Family group to whom I will pass on your inquiry. Maybe some among them will know, or can ask their dads. Someone may know about those wings. BK

Hello. I'm Moose Heyligers daughter and I'm searching for someone who might know what member of Easy company traded his wings in Holland with a British paratrooper. I've found those wings in an antique shop in Plymouth,Ma this past Monday while browsing with my bagpipe teacher. He bought them and we're anxious to know the history. Currahee

becky, Thanks for sharing your Father with us. I am glad he retained such fond memories. It was a true blessing. It is how he knew what he did was right. God bless him and your family. Maggie

I wanted to tell you a little more of my father's story (Roland Kimbrough)...One of the young women that befriended my dad and is in the picture drew him a beautiful picture of the savior and sent it to him after he returned to the states. We spent many hours looking at this picture and listening to my dad's story of it. My dad loved to tell us the stories of the wonderful Dutch family. My father passed away last year but was still telling this story and others of the war up until the day before he died. Two days before his death he began to have many WWII flashbacks remembering all of the guys he served with and crying over all of the losses.

I have to say I love it when the colonel talks like that. Seems like old times again and old times feel good just like a broken in pair of shoes or worn out underwear.

Yup fan and after training was over those who were not be very proficient would be invited behind the barracks for a Lucky Strike. Funny, never saw those guys again. Scuttlebutt is most were transferred out to a grave registration unit, or something like that.

'Tis a lovely sound indeed, JDK. Kinda brings back memories of the good 'ol days on these boards. Late night practices, rain gear and Colonel LJ barking orders.

"...Oh yeah, and it wasn't Easy Company that solely took on Germany, many other countries took on them. We British lost our empire while the bl*ody yanks and japs took it over and capitalized on our war in Europe. However, we have no regret of losing our Empire at all, we would rather have a small country and fight for what is right than to hide miles across the Atlantic and make money, for shame on you all yanks" Hey HistoryNerd, Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what? What has brought all this on? I
