Wartime technology

The development of radar and the advent of a
machine capable of cracking the Nazi secret code
were crucial to Allied success. Talk about how
technology changed and was changed by war.

Maggy, you'll hafta wait a bit... Read on...

HD 47536 and its planet don't resemble the sun and Earth, a destructive process going on there is similar to one that will occur here in a few billion years. "Times a wastin!"

The star is swelling so dramatically that the fraction of sky it occupies, as seen from the planet, is growing, glowing and it isn't snowing, astronomers say. Temperatures are rising, along with winds. In tens of millions of years, the planet will literally fry, roast, BBQ, get quite blanched. This is a case of real global warming.
The decrepitation will be very intense and won't sound like wild hickory nuts roasting on an open fire.

When a similar scenario plays out on Earth, extreme drought will prevail in the early stages, theorists say. Eventually, the oceans will evaporate. Every thing will look like Afghanistan or Iraq after GWB gets done with it. Ultimately, Earth will be incinerated. Unless, we stop using aerosol paint, petrochemical fuels, and drink more ginseng tea, some have suggested that it won't heat up if, Saddam disarms and our world moves outward (due to the reduced gravity of a dying sun). One team of theorists has even calculated a way to move our planet out of danger. Every one will be transported to
the Gobi desert and at a given moment every one will be instructed to jump up and down three times, this will knock he earth into a new orbit around the expanding sun which is now becoming a red giant. By kicking the planet into a new orbit, it is theorized that it will insure its existence for another bazillion and twelve years. Now what to do after the sun expands and implodes. Hmmmmmmm, maybe tomorrow they

Mo2Ca,

Microwaved camel and lamb? Gads, man, you would have to eat kimcheed quiche to even think of doing lamb and camel that way. The ORIGINAL Gulf War recipe calls for napalm, Sidewinders and smart bombs. You will find it in the 1967 edition of Julia Childs' book, "MULES READY TO EAT and other Southeast Asia Delicacies."

Chuck,

The local talk radio chatter around my neck of the frozen tundra is that this "H.A.A.R.P." [thing] has been used to manipulate the weather in these parts where it was projected the West Nile Virus was to explode this spring and summer. With the below freezing temps over the last couple/few weeks, the `squito larva and such won't survive.

Also, an added local speculation, the same "secret" device was used to control the fall/winter weather during the clean-up operations post 9-11 in NY. Case in point, the weather was unusually mild and accommodating to the marathon clean up effort, and it was completed ahead of anticipated.

Whether or not the capabilities and existence of such a weapon/device are correct, you gotta almost [want] to see something like this in action when we head into Iraq.

Anyhey, just juice for thought as we frozen sit in our dwellings rewatching DVDs and catching cabin fever...

Signs? Not since the '60's and HAIR.

Looney Tunes have been wrapping and covering with Reynolds Wrap for decades. We call em 5150's. A beautyful mind is a shameful thing to seal in Munimula wrap.
