Bill heads to Juniper Creek to attend the funeral of his father Frank's first wife Roberta, and to make Roman a settlement proposal he may or may not be able to refuse. Lois sees Roberta's demise as an opportunity to rise to First Wife. Meanwhile, Barb bails Nicki out of a jam at Home Plus, and Ben ponders whether he has what it takes to follow in his father's footsteps.

Bear, > Monogamous marriages are broken up by the conversion > of one spouse all the time. Yes, they are, but if there's enough love people get through it. I'm wondering if all three wives would stick with Bill. I get the feeling that Barb and Margene both would, but that Nicki would go scurrying back to the compound. Then again, if Bill embraced a religion that no longer allowed him to have three wives, what would he do? Just divorce them all, or pick one? Encourage them to remarry?

What if Bill has a crisis of faith, and decides to convert to some other religion, or no religion at all? What happens to the marriage then? Does he drop the wives, or will the love they share be strong enough to stand on its own, without religion to justify it?

There was the song the girl sang during the funeral, which I found out on Google is called "Will You Miss Me (When I'm Gone)" by the Carter family, but there was also the very start of another song at the very closing credits that I didn't catch enough of to find out anything about. I recognized the one the girl sang as one my grandpa used to sing/play guitar to when I was pretty little and talked to my dad about it and he said it was the first song he himself ever learned to play on guitar. It seemed like I recognized the very last song beginning they started at the closing of the show but now it's driving me crazy trying to find out the name, writer, lyrics and/or chords to. I know the last two posts said the song at the end was by June Carter Cash, but are you sure you didn't mean the song the girl sang during the funeral? The song at the very end seemed to be about two men, sung by a man. Anybody who could help me find this information out I would greatly appreciate it. It really irks me that there is no mention of the music on the show or on the website, if they are going to play such beautiful old mountain folk music they should not only have the information on the credits of the show but also a whole page dedicated to it on here. That's just my humble opinion. Thanks for listening. ~~Julie

The song is from that album "Wildwood Flower" by June Carter Cash. I found it at Yahoo Shopping and heard a clip. It is the right song. Why doesn't HBO ever reveal the music credits on their programs? They have some great closing songs during the closing credits but never credit them in the end credits.

i like the idea of a web cam too, especially if it was at barb's house when bill was over!! oh, i sound like a pervert actually typing > that out!! It'd be best at Nikki's because she's always up to something evil...Probably dull at Marge's house these days, what with Bill's peepee distractd....Would insist on it being fired up when Bill and Barbara are together!

Bill Hendrickson's religion seems to be a little confused. He believes in Jesus Christ, but ignores the words of Jesus. Yeah, but if they got it all just right and quoted scripture exactly you'd be bitching about their proselyting agenda. It's drama, which has to show some religious background in order to appear authentic. Go back to your church to get all just the way you like it. It gonna happen on HBO.

Mrs. Fisher I feel your pain. I only know maybe 3 other people who watch this show regularly, but I'm finding a lot of people are becoming intrigued by this show. This show is downright awesome! I had no idea how twisted the plot would get. I must say I'm hooked. I don't want to get ahead of myself but dare I say...Six Feet Under? This is very slowly becoming my favorite show on television. Oh and to all of you quasi-Christians who have a problem with this show I'll keep it simple....DON'T WATCH IT! Pat Robertson and his "believers" have their own station and guess what...I DON'T WATCH IT! You see it's easy. Give it a try.

Bill Hendrickson's religion seems to be a little confused. He believes in Jesus Christ, but ignores the words of Jesus. In Matthew 22: 30 Jesus said, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." Jesus was answering the Pharisees' question about whose wife the woman who had been widowed seven times would be in heaven.

I find Big Love fascinating and intriguing. I am against polygamy. God gave Adam one wife. That is how he intended marriage. Man's lust and greedy ego created polygamy hundreds of thousands of years ago. Things change. Man is just as lustful and greedy Toddy as they were almost from the beginning of time. . Polygamy degrades both marriage and women. There is no way it could be God's plan. I would like to present the following possible scenario for the past events of Big Love. Bill Hendrickson was a happily monogamous married man. When his wife got cancer he was forced to face the reality of death and an after life. He returned to the faith of his childhood much to his wife Barb's sorrow. He wanted to ascend to the top level of the Celestial Kingdom. Whether this is because of his desire to be with Barb for eternity or for his own personal reasons is known only to Bill. To achieve his goal he must have multiple wife's. The purpose of multiple wives is to produce children to build up the Kingdom. Love may be of little or no importance. Nikki and Margene become pawn in his plan to achieve his goal of the highest level in the Celestial Kingdom. Of course he take his obligations and responsibilities seriously. He finds Nikki and Margene sexually attractive and a boost to his ego. He is a driven achiever and tries hard to be a good husband to all three women. He loves only Barb. He is burdened and stressed out trying to provide for the financial, physical, sexual and emotional needs of all his wives. Added stress comes from running a business and dealing with a tyrant. He is haunted by his inner emotions. He misses his time with Barb and his simpler monogamous marriage.
