How Will They Deal With Roman's Death Next Season?

Will they just pick up like a year later, Nikki is 6 months or more pregnant... and Roman is just the topic of occasional conversations?

Will they show Nikki and Alby's reactions to finding out the news and pick up right where they left off?

There are so many possibilities.

Personally I'd like to see them pick up right where they left off. I think Roman's character was so important to the show, they really need to show his family hearing of his death, and how each of them deals with the news.

JMO of course. I'm just concerned they will pass all of that great acting by, just to pick the story up after a lot of time has passed since his death.

Bill doesn't have to live on the compound to be the prophet or to be the leader of juniper creek.

when he changed his mind about going after roman at the trial he told barb that he had thought if he just protected his family he was doing what was right, but he realized he had a greater responsibility than just taking care of his own family.

Bill is already THE Prophet, at the end of the season finale he claimed the keys. there is only one prophet and one keyholder for LDS, juniper creek and the church of Bill. Bill has declared himself to be THE Prophet, at the same time the false Prophet (roman) was being killed. the writers wrote it for exactly that symbology.

I have a hard time believing that Roman is really dead.In TVland ,people seem to survive shootings, stabbings and in this case suffocation and miracously survive.Someone stated that Harry Dean Stanton may wish to step down as he's in his early 80's.That may be true.I also feel the Bill-Alby feud will come back as a power play of some sort or Bill's attempt to derail him as compound leader-But I don't think Bill want to run the compound or be the new "prophet".Barb would be flying out the door and running away before she would agree to move to the compound.

With Roman dead - perhaps he will appear in dreams or in flashbacks for other characters...

A question -
Did Roman ever actually unseal Nikki and Bill, or did his death end that storyline?

Um...cake.
Well - we're all out of cake- we only had three bits and we didn't expect such a rush!

I agree that JJ is going to be one bad guy. With Roman dead JJ will be sure he stays on the compound to work up as much trouble as he can. He even looks like trouble lol. Will be interested for sure next season! I can't wait!

Law enforcement is going to have a holiday next season. The ATF will be investigating the bombing that was meant for Adeline, which by the way, Nicki was a co-conspirator, and the District Attorney will be investigating Roman?s death. I wonder who will be running the compound next season. This is Bills big break to get that independent overseer for the UEB council with all the chaos that is happening in JC now. He has wanted to do that since the first season.

Good theory withay. Roman is gone, the only real question is how far gone is he? I don't think they can do the few weeks thing because those kids are growing like weeds lately, unless they get new child actors which is always a possibility.

The official Big Love synopsis says that Roman is dead so, as far as I am concerned, he's dead. I think the introduction of JJ is another way to add another villian. And I think JJ showed up with CaraLynn with ulterior motives in mind. He almost seemed to be "dangling" her in front of Nicki. He is (IMHO) going to use CaraLynn as bait to get something he wants in exchange for her...maybe being the Prophet of Juniper Creek?

Well we hope that Roman gets saved by the DA but if you Wikipedia Big Love, they list Roman as being dead along with Kathy. Yes it seems anyone can edit it and I don't know who did but seeing it was odd. They left him half dead in the first season to bring him back so let's hope they do it again.

There is also a cool chart showing familial relationships for the UEB challenged (tee hee). Sometimes it is hard keeping up with who begat who.

Found out JJ is Wanda's brothrer which explains why Nickki was friends with her (sis in law). Makes sense now.

This is silly, but Roman was singing in Spanish as he was strumming the guitar, just before Joey entered. I'm sure it was a love song, but the last words he sang were "Quiero morir", which means "I want to die..."

I think it will pick it up a year later

I think the only reason why season three picked up so many months later was the writers strike caused them to film later then normal and they had some pretty tall kids they had to account for

I think the season starts with the Feds kicking in the door at the Big House attempting to arrest Roman, only to find him dead. Then DA Ray has a murder mystery on his hands with many suspects. Alby and his wife? Bill? Nikki? Joey?

First let me say that I hope that Roman is not dead because I love the character. I know this may seem a little morbid but I am glad the character is perceived as "killed." The lone reason being that HDS is getting up there in age and I'd hate to see Big Love have to deal with a real life death like the Sopranos had to when Nancy Marchant/Livia Soprano passed away.

Maybe it's just me, but Harry Dean Stanton, superb actor that he is, may just want to ease out and take it easy. He looks a little frail to me but that's probably the make up. Roman already went through the near-death thing so I think he's gone for good now. that way we can watch the all the commotion as the new Prophet is decided upon. I can't see Bill living in the burbs, running Home Plus, running the casino, running his 3 wives and gaggle of kids and running Juniper Creek! But, knowing Bill's talents for dabbling, he'll have his "finger in every pie".
Will Alby return next season with a big scar on his face? That was a nasy gash he got from his bombing-gone-awry.
