I have PMd to some of you regarding Duets and her family in the past few days and I am opening this up to everyone now. One of our own is in need right now. I know we have different beliefs but they need Good Thoughts, Positive Energy and Prayers right now. Duet's husband was rushed to hospital earlier this week (I think Tuesday) and is in ICU. They have an idea what is wrong but cannot determine why and thus far have had no success in treating him. He is in terrible pain and is trying to remove IVs etc. There is concern about the quality of care, especially when she is not there. They have no family there and she is pretty much trying to do this alone. They also have twin boys (about 8) that she is trying to care for. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. -- I can be changed by what happens to me, But I refuse to be reduced by it. Maya Angelou

Thanks to each of you, Today, hubby came home!! The canceled the procedure (cyst wasn't big enough to fix/drain-today). As for the bleeding, the labs looked better today. TPN @ home, & tons of meds. He's very weak. They've requested a walker. We have to repeat the CAT scan in about a week. The boys went with me to pick him up this evening. They were so glad to see each other. The home nurse came by tonight to start the TPN. So far, so good. Thanks again to each of you, I really appreciate you letting my cry on your shoulder & express myself here. Your prayers are sufficient & I feel fortunate that you keep us in your thoughts/prayers. -- duets

Duets, I wish there was some magic thing I could say or do to make this all better and all over....It's times like this where I (and most others also) feel so useless and helpless. And Hubby won't be alone, all of us will be there with him in our hearts, including you. As for report cards and grades....there will be a time when that is important, but that time is not now. Right now their little world is in disarray. Let us know if there is anything we can do. I wish I lived closer and/or was more mobile... I'll keep praying. -- Well-behaved women rarely make history.......... Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

> I appreciate all of your prayers. One thing I read > today that really touched my heart. "God's will > never takes you; where God's grace won't protect > you". I believe that with all my heart, honey. Sometimes God's timing is much more long range than ours is and this causes frustration for us. But He is the source -- if we give up on His timing we are hurting ourselves much more than we are hurting Him. You are undergoing very difficult times for sure, but it is how our character is formed by these times that will be the thing that sticks with us in this lifetime and beyond. God bless you Du, I'm sure you will make the best of this. -- "You wake up one day and your baby has stolen a foot, where have I been?" Ruth Fisher (6FU)

Hello All, It's been a week today & he's still in ICU. He's to have another surg procedure done tomorrow. Today, 2 units of blood were needed & give. Internal bleeding going on?!?! Then another location of fluid found behind the spleen that has to be drained tomorrow. It's the week end & I have no one to watch the boys. I feel very guilty in that I won't be able to be there tomorrow. Our so called "friends" list has either gone sour on us or else everyone else has issues with family members being very ill, in the hospital etc. I appreciate all of your prayers. One thing I read today that really touched my heart. "God's will never takes you; where God's grace won't protect you". Another thing, one of my guys strolled in today with a progress report from school, he made straight A's all last year; today he had 2 "C's" & 2 "F's. Heaven help him & us. -- duets -- Edited by duets at 10/11/2008 12:48 AM PDT

Duets, I am so glad that everyone is home. I agree that being at home is the Best Medicine once they get you past a certain point. And Hubby has the added advantage of having a nurse for a wife so you can do more and see more than someone else. I was really worried about him having to be in the hospital alone and I know you were too. Along with the boys not seeing him for so long... You still will have a lot on your plate but at least the plate is in one piece! We will keep praying down here for his continued recovery. -- Well-behaved women rarely make history..........
