I think Lura's sarcastic "Did you run over any ducks coming over here?" was asking if she got in a big hurry getting there after she found out Nicki was in Alby's house. Kind of like saying "did you bust your ass getting here?"

I asked the same question after someone else did. If you do a board search under ducks it will bring up all possible answers to Laura's duck question.

Makes me miss my mom. She would never use curse words and go to great lengths to explain what someone else said without using the actual word. "He called him an anus". "She said they are full of feces"
Margene used the F word in the first series. Then she told Ben "Please don't tell Bill I said that."

It's the same reason I never feel guilty for swearing anymore. It's a word, not actually trying to put a curse on someone.
I like Liz Lemon on 30 Rock always says, "What the WHAT?!"

I absolutely LOVE how they don't use curse words. At one point Lois said "that man is going to burn in H for what he's done to this family". (They don't even believe in "H" do they?) That cracked me up. The not using curse words almost makes them look crazier than if they did!
What's even more funny about it is that they're not using these curse words because of religious beliefs. Well, it's the intention that would be the sin. From what I understand, at least. It's the same as using those words..

That made me wonder, too. Maybe it's just Lura's way of throwing everyone off. Making people look odd in the strangest ways.
Loved it when Barb said, "What the fun!" It's that they really played with it this season, of them not using any curse words. Too much of that, I feel.
