I like the blue colors but I wish the indicator for unread posts was still red. It's harder to see it in blue against the blue.

That is a user option Mm. You can set it up yourself which direction you want to read it. Mine still has the newest on top.
Go to preferences.. up top under your login name. Down the page General Preferences.

The font is MUCH easier for me to read.
I didn't think the old format was great either so I'm just happy with the font.
What I hate is that you read the newest post on the bottom and have to go up. I think most message boards are the other way.

It is faster. I noticed that right off. It's not what it was, those good pictures are gone. But some of them are to be found elsewhere. They make the intention clear, do they not? We've all become the same. It works fine. But they sure did take the humanity out. At least I think. But it works, and we are all here, and that's what matters.

They do that so that it works on the old browsers in third world countries and oh bigger pixels and slow connections.. I was hoping they'd fix the wrap problem on links. The only thing worse than wasted horizontal space is hoggin it up so you have to browse sideways.. thats my pet peeve.... and they didn't fix that.

Great question JH. Actually, if they'd enlarge the whole page to better utilize the wasted space; it would definitely make it easier on the eyes. I might could get by without my reading glasses!
