This is the latest clip from HBO promoting season 3. As background, it shows Bill and Barb watching a news report about a raid at a polygamist compound were several hundred children are taken into custody. (Remember Texas) and Bill is having a discussion with Barb concerning it?s possible effects on their family. http://www.hbo.com/biglove

Niki has two > children, and Margene is pregnant with her third, > she's not beating Niki THAT much in the baby-making > department. I think the writers are accentuating a twist between the two characters -- you would expect Nicki to be more of a baby-maker -- given her background. And you would expect Marge to be more of a wild child, but as often happens, when you put two people from diverse backgrounds into a team situation they will attempt to acquire the others values -- and often there will be competition and hurt feelings as they busily acquire (and pretend to) each other's values. -- "I used to have friends ... but that's a small price to pay for having a purpose" My Margene Season 3 preview

Yes'm -- I've always contended that Nic's strong political survival skills are a function of where she comes from -- some look at it as a huge negative and a cesspool in which to raise children -- I look at it as honestly taking care of your own political survival instead of leaving it up to others (police, doctors, lawyers, what have you) Nicki has some huge faults and I do blame the writer's prejudice for that -- at least a little bit -- but those strengths are amazing and I applaud them for getting right something that most people just don't see. -- "I used to have friends ... but that's a small price to pay for having a purpose" My Margene Season 3 preview

Yeah!! I finally got to see the videoclips! I want to thank everyone who offered advice and assitance so i could see them. Also for those who offered me their moral support. Thanks a million everyone! On a sad note did anyone else see that Ginner Goodwin (Margene) broke up recently with her beau of 2 yrs Chris Klein.Too bad Chloe and Ginnifer are going through all this during the holiday seasons.Break ups although sometimes necessary, really do suck especially during the Christmas season or whatever holiday you are celebrating.Take care Girlfreinds we love you both!

These videos make me feel even more sorry for Barb. Plural marriage was not her idea, but it seems that Bill expects her to be the one to hold it all together, while he does whatever he wants. (And I'm willing to bet that he's "doing" Ana....I hope not though.) Niki hasn't changed a bit, lol. Love to hate that girl. I guess she can't help how she is considering who raised her. I thought Margene had matured a little, until the end. "I hope my fertility doesn't make you feel like less of a woman." What the heck? Niki has two children, and Margene is pregnant with her third, she's not beating Niki THAT much in the baby-making department. But anybody who hasn't watched the show before would probably think Niki was barren because of that conversation. -- "Knit your own sweater, Boss Lady!" -Margene -- Edited by Halodeficient at 12/08/2008 7:02 PM PST -- Edited by Halodeficient at 12/08/2008 7:03 PM PST

I think children belong to who the prophet says they belong to. If he tells the father to leave, the kids stay with the mother. If he makes the mother leave, they stay with the father. I don't think any of it will really be incorporated into the third season, unfortunately. They still have Margene pregnant in these, and we all know that the baby will already have been born by the time that season three starts, so I think this will all be over by then too. The only way I can see this becoming a part of this season is if (and it's a big if), Frankie was originally sent away to this compound (as well as the child that belongs to one of the wives that makes an appearance, that everyone is assuming is Nicki's), and Frankie is either too old to be taken by CPS or is somehow tipped off about it and escapes before it happens and returns to Juniper. It would explain why Frankie wasn't at Juniper creek when Bill's family was kicked off, plus there were children at the Texas compound that didn't seem to belong to anyone there. Just an idea. Personally, I don't think any of this will be brought up in any great detail in the season though. -- Don't Panic.

I just saw the next installment of Three Past Midnight. It looks like Nicki has family living at the compound that was raided. I wonder how much of this will actually be incorporated into the third season?

I guess you can see how torn and conflicted Barb is with polygamy. Remember is season 1, how she didn't even want to go there? She hated that compound. She told Sarah that they are completely different from them. But yet, you see her sympathize with Juniper Creek. Barb is very torn over where her heart truly is. She doesn't want Ben to be a polygamist but says she loves her new life. Interesting character. I think that is why she is so liked... Yes, very true, Barb is a compassionate person. Roman took her family in when she was sick and she returned the favor and did it with kindness.

> I thought it was odd how Barb looked kinda upset and > stressed while watching the raid on TV. I thought > she's be happy, since she feels Juniper Creek is a > "cesspoll" and all. > > Maybe she felt stressed that they would be coming for > them next? > > She just seemed so genuinely concerned about Juniper > Creek etc. It kinda surprised me. Barb cares about people. She may consider Juniper Creek a "cesspool," but that doesn't equate to wanting to see people hurt, especially kids. She was even compassionate to Roman Grant after what he did to her. She could have ordered him out of her house. If the situation were reversed Nikki or Bill certainly would have. But she didn't. That's why I like Barb so much. -- So I say live and let live. That's my motto: Live and let live. Anyone who can't go along with that, take 'em outside and shoot the motherfucker. It's a simple philosophy, but it's always worked in our family.
