Who ratted out Bill & Family?

Roman? the security guy bill hired for his homes? Wendy the Jr. bookkeeper? Rhonda? Heather?
I'd love to hear what everyone thinks!

That's the way I remember it, too. Actually, she was "unbedazzling" the jacket she had stolen - picking out the sequins. No doubt the jacket was another example to Roman that Bill had taken the wrong path.

He didn't, actually. She was bedazzling some vest or other, while he made the call. "I would like to speak with someone about tonight's ceremony."

When Nicki almost in tears told her father that they are not protected like the compound, he tells Nicki he did it for her because he thought Bill was going down the wrong path. Then in an off-hand way he cautions her to never bring up the subject again. Rhonda overheard and later uses this to blackmail Nicki into convincing the family to let her stay or she will tell them what happened and gloats over her threat that if Bill finds out he will throw Nicki out of the family.

It was Roman. Well he had Rhonda make the phone call from what I recall.

If you check some of the thread names, like "Season 3??", you'll find out what little we know. This thread has nothing to do with that.

In summary, we don't know, because HBO hasn't said yet. The "projected" date is June, but that was before the writers' strike.

And btw, using all caps is "shouting" on line.

I wondered about that, too. Sarah told Heather she wouldn't help Rhonda because it might endanger her family, but she's going to out them? Hmmm....people are weird, so it's possible. It certainly would explain a lot.

Sarah was shellshocked when she found out. She couldn't even leave at first. I think the odd look that she gave Bill when he was saying that came from thinking exactly what I was thinking. You did this to your family.

I assumed it was Roman to begin with, in part because of Rhonda's reaction. Now I'm wondering if that was intended to deliberately mislead us, so we'll be shocked when we find out who it is, as we were with Wanda.

From what we saw in season one's finale it looked like
Roman was the culprit. Rhonda smiled in the corner
when he was on the phone, a payback for not letting her
stay like she "promised"? It seems ironic that everyone's looking outside their community when it was
Bill's Father-in-law.

I think Adalene's comment about her sister-wives suspecting her in Albie's poisoning is revealing
in that even the mother of the victim is suspect in their
twisted little family. I also believe the line was delivered so that it was clear that Nicki's brother
came from the same mother as she.

Wendy looked like she was going to expose them at
the Governor's Mansion but I don't think she got the
opportunity. She even looked sympathetic when Barb
left the building.

Or Nicki might have done it herself, in order to become First Wife. I hadn't thought of that, but it's actually a very obvious possibility. Nicki didn't want Barb to do the contest in the first place.

Regarding Nicki's gun-

Given the show's description as being about a 'family that works', I'm inclined to believe that they won't kill any of the wives. Even Nicki's habit of wearing her ovaries on the outside- which is awesome -generally comes short of any kind of actual violence. It makes more sense for her to engineer someone else's threats/humiliation/possible violence such as the Hummer Terrorist.

I could see Nicki's kids doing something with the gun though.

I had been assuming Roman did it, but tonight I watched Epi 13 again, and noticed two things:

1. When Bill says on the phone "I will do everything in my power to find out who did this to us," Sara gives him an odd look. She could just be reacting to her father saying something uncharacteristically strong, or could it be that she's the one who did it, in order to push Barb to get out of the marriage?

2. When Nicki talks to her mother, Adaleen asks pointedly, "Any idea who did it?" She could just be probing for gossip, or she could be the guilty one, in order to make Nicki first wife.

IMO...Roman did it.

What better way to humble both Barb and Bill, remind Nicki of her place and therby remain more influential than the lure of the more 'worldly things' Bill could offer Nicki, educate new-girl Margie as to who is really in charge while simultaneously instilling self doubt in Bill about his own judgement with an offering of condolences over his family's trials.

As to the gun there are many possibilities of course.
1. Nicki could go nuts and take out Bill and then herself (lets hope she leaves the kids alone)

2. She could start pushing Barb deeper and deeper into depression and have a gun handy when Barb decides to commit suicide, leaving Nicki the obvious choice for First Wife, giving her control of finances and security of a marriage license. And in that role she would be a perfect mole (unwittingly of course) for old Roman.

3. One of the older kids- Ben? Sarah?- could suddenly decide to be 'helpful' and go after Roman directly as a way to save their family before going off to begin their own adult lives.(least likely scenario imo)

I don't see Rhonda as a threat to Roman. She is still too childish in so many ways and far too catty. With Roman she knows that she is someone special- a wife of the prophet and his favorite according to what she told Sarah and Heather. Plus which if roman were to die- who other than Bill would take his place? Alby??? HA!! I don't see Rhonda, young as she is, stupid enough to risk being placed with Albert Grant and having to live with that moron for eternity. Can you imagine??-the sixteen year old child bride being the smart one in the family?

Good point Mar & I think this is one of the unintended(?) ways that the compound people keep these young girls in the dark -- whatever info does filter down to them is often seriously out of date. Their world is within this world, but seriously cut off from this world.

Withay, I didn't realize this when she said it, but those hotels no longer exist. They did in the 70's - in fact, I lived in one when I first came to NYC - but they have all long since been turned into condos or coops. So Rhonda's information is seriously out of date.
