The episode I'm watching now is "The Ceremony", and Wanda poisons Alby in this. Did anybody notice that the cocktail she mixed up for him was made up of only one part lemonade, and three parts of antifreeze coolant? I know she mixed it up with a spoon, but don't you think he would have noticed that it was not just lemonade he was drinking when he took the first sip? It was funny when Joey told Bill that Wanda had poisoned Alby. When Bill said "Alby's dead?!" the hopeful look on his face reminded me of a little kid who's Mommy promised him a trip to Chuck E. Cheese if he did all of his homework. I also noticed when Niki came out of Barb's kitchen looking smoking hot for the ceremony, Ben had his back turned after her saw her, and it looked like he was praying? Hmmm. I know that waiting for season four for so long really stinks, but I'm really enjoying the old episodes. -- "President Davis, are you asking me to tell you what kind of underwear I have on?"-Barb. -- Edited by Halodeficient at 05/31/2009 8:05 PM PDT

Nikki's daughter never lived on the compound. They were visiting from Kansas. Kansas had just been raided and for some reason JJ didn't want to go to Canada on Alby's insistance. Bill had an affair with Barb and another when he slept with Anna. Nikki kissed the DA. Big whip! The Anna affair was a big deal. And her affair with the good looking guy. Bill exposed them all to disease with all that. Why would Roman unseal Nikki and Bill? Doesn't make much sense unless it's to punish her for pushing him down the stairs. Although she's the reason he was free enough to get pushed. They kinda let that drop. Bill was in the area that night, he said they were going to get unsealed that night when he fell in the barn. I wonder if Bill will be accused of Roman's death? Why was he wearing black all last season? Anna's married to them and no one went over the process about finances, community pot, living arrangements, hierarchy? Antifreeze.. I thought they started putting stuff in it to make it taste bad so those accidents would stop happening. Never put something you eat or drink in a different container and vice versa. Why wasn't Bill brought to love court? That was bizarre. Why would Barb even go knowing the outcome? How come she got in if she couldn't "use" Cindy or her mom's recommends as they were there and using them? There is no time limit there. Will Bill admit to everyone those documents are a hoax? I hope they don't do much on the Ben/Margie thing. It wasn't Margie's fault. She was getting out of the shower for heaven sakes. Why was Ben getting dressed there? I just hope he doesn't get sent away or she's not pressured to be more modest. It may illustrate why the young men are run off. Concern they are too close in age and will start falling for their "mothers". What's with Teeny? They are dropping the ball with her character. I'd like Margene expecting again. And Pam and Carl to have adopted by next season. Really sad. I expect Tenny and Nikki's daughter will cross each other. I wonder if they will make Teeny the bad guy and Nikki's daughter the innocent one? Dirty magazines, mischief with the Ben and Margene thing... I'd love to see Scott more with the family, and Sarah with Scott's family and the whole dynamic of in-laws. They come from different family lifestyles that's for sure. I wonder what will happen to Frankie? What happens if he finds his mom? I never want to see Rhonda again. With Roman gone why would she be back? I bet Alby isn't having relations with his pregnant first wife. Her being an RN I bet they IUI'd the pregnancy, since he doesn't want to sleep with Glory. He still looks to be doing his duty community wise with Laura pregnant. Glory can't know about that method, can she? I wonder if Laura also has a similar secret? Who is watching the kids half the time? Ben says he'll watch Margie's boys when Nikki is no where to be found and he says yes, but where are they? Teeny's at camp. Sarah's away with Scott or at work. I don't think Lois is there much. Why hasn't Frank done her in? Bill's house, she's there how hard is it to find? More reason for the kids to be watched properly. Don. Feel so sad for him and Peg. Bill was fine with Nikki cause she showed up with her daughter and he remembered how upset that she was forced to marry. Like his sister. And this gives him another child. Barb stood by her in a real way when she showed up telling Bill we are forgiving her. I don't think Bill would want to be responsible for another teen to remain in that community that didn't have to be. Remember all they did to get Rhonda out of danger? Might have been to save the daughter? How can Nikki only have one child from JJ? How could she not have gotten pregnant again or in between her and Bill's marriage? I wonder if Roman is controlling Nikki's pill usage.? I wondered if the boys are really Roman's? A way to get back at Bill by keeping the number of children in his family low. Bill's grandfather was the prophet after all and run off at 14 for that reason. Why couldn't Nikki keep her daughter? Was his sect leader more powerful than Roman? We saw with Roman's sister being married to Holace Green these family alliances are positively medieval; keeping alliances and enemies at bay. What happened to April Blessing? Did Heather's parents throw Rhonda out after hearing the manipulation? Poor Heather keeps changing her plans for school to help Sara with her pregnancy and impending parenthood only to be at AS instead BYU like she wanted. Maybe Bill can pull some strings with his new connection through the casino endowment that kept his brother in law at bay? Where are Kathy's kids? Her sister had a son but not her? Ray died, they were both married to him before he died, right before meeting Joey and getting sealed to Frank, ick... Where were Bill's partial brother's and sister's like Frank Jr while they were exilled in season 1? Bill had dad, mom and 3 sister wives all living there Easter time, but no kids. The underwear remark is being taken out of context. Member's agree to wear their garments once through the temple. Not wearing them is an act they are away from the church. It's not a harrassing sexual comment. They were being very careful to distinct the family from LDS in the beginning of the series. Now they are subtley attacking LDS because of recent events. Making them villians and corrupt. I'm Catholic and see the media do this with my own church for decades. Now they are branching out. And rude jokes like the underwear remark at love court aren't called for. If she's not living that faith why would she care if they want her formally out of the church? Why did she even see an old Bishop who shows up on the doorstep in the first place?

i just noticed... Baby Joey is Joey Jr., therefore possibly called JJ. JJ is also the name of Nikki's first husband who is back and bound wreak havoc next season. haha probably has no significance but i thought it was ironic and interesting! -- "Solitude is different from loneliness, and it doesn't have to be a lonely kind of thing" -Mister Rogers

I know! I hate noticing something like that when I am trying to focus on the characters - it's like Nell is aging quicker than baby Joey!

But they are not always consistant about ages. Baby Joey was still in a carry around car seat in season 3 and appeared to be the same age as Nell. But he was born during season 1 and she was born between season 2 and 3! Those are the things that throw me off. -- Well-behaved women rarely make history.......... Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

I've tried to figure out their ages too ,but usually someone else points out where I have errored.your guess is as good as anyones. Also, Tv timelines don't always coorelate with our own time.Pioneer day is July 25(I think).I also wonder where nicky will end up in season 4.I think since she's experienced life off the compound and in to the real world at the courthouse, she may be having lots of doubts about plural marriage. She probably is wrestling with a number of things.she probably needs some serious therapy.

yeah the past week i have re-watched the first season and now i am on epi 6 of season 2 and i loveeee re-watching! I noticed that in the first season, many of the "conflicts" are comparatively minuscule to the conflicts in the third season and the end of the second. I keep thinking to myself "Oh boy, just wait till next season!" I have also been keeping my eye out for when Bill and Nikki's relationship really begins to turn downhill. There is definetly still love between them in the last epi that i watched which was "vision thing" s2 epi5. So basically i am still looking for that time where they lose the spark. One last observation i would like to make is the time line of the show. I know there have been numerous threads concerning this and also Sarah's age, etc but i feel like re-watching it has helped me grasp the time line. -I am pretty sure now that Season 1 takes place from march to mid/late may. Easter of 2006 was on April 16th ('06 being when the show starts). s1 epi8 is called "Easter". -Bill and barb have been married 18 going on 19 years and so Sarah is 17, soon to be 18 (although we do not know when her bday is) When she first starts seeing Scott, she is lying about being 18. Ben turns 16 towards the end of season 1. -Season 2 picks up 2 weeks after the Beehive mother of the year ceremony and their exposure. -S2 epi1 barb and sarah have a heart to heart in the car about sarah's future and barb speaks about what she will do next year (senior year of hs) and then after that and they talk about sarah going to college. -I think in an earlier thread about the show's timeline, someone says that Pioneer day (which takes place in s2 finale) is celebrated July 24th. -Margene finds out that she is pregnant towards the end of season 1 (epi11 or 12) therefore the pregnancy beginning in late may/early june. That means that Nell was born around march of the next year. -S3 epi3 is Sarah's senior prom which is normally in late April early May, or even late may. So season 3 probably starts in Early may and goes into the summer months. That is when they go on the road trip and Sarah is figuring out her college plans and later just her plans for the fall/future. So basically when season 3 ended we are in the latter part of the summer of 2007...supposedly. wow. ok, ive written too much now and i have to go to work!! welp ill talk to you guys later -- "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why they call it the present"

Wow you got a eye for detail! Now I'm gonna have to rewatch the show.Yes, Nicki was dressed to the 9's in that episode.Nicki aka Chloe looks great in anything. In fact, they do have a book totally unrelated to Big love out which highlights Chloe in a number of dresses and outfits. It's a little hard to come by, but it's called something like"Opening ceremony for Chloe Sevigny".I was able to check it out last month from the library.Chloe is a fashion addict and designer as well.Anyways, I don't think Benny was praying but they make it look that way.Big love has lots of subtle things that just keeep you guessing and coming back for more. The Anti-freeze cocktail? Anti-freeze is said to be very sweet tasting for whatever reason.Sadly, many dogs and other animals die every year after drinking it from a car that is leaking anti-freeze from the radiator or one of the hoses. It is entirely possible that any person would find it sweet tasting as well.Apparently it was tasty to Alby.I have also heard of Eskimos using anti-freeze on long knives and planting them into the snow to poison wolves that are menacing villages or interferring with their food supply or work animals.Gross yes, but we live in a harsh world sometimes, sad to say.Not trying to gross out or upset anyone, but that is my knowledge about anti-freeze. -- Edited by luvbarb at 06/29/2009 2:37 PM PDT

I believe that their first child died shortly after birth or was still born. When Lois helps deliver the baby, she says "this one is going to live" I took that to mean that their child died shortly after it was born.

i don't think that ben is praying...in this scene, nikki is looking great. my guess is that he has an erection (since even woodshop class excites him!).... in re-wtching did anybody notice that wanda tells bill (in episode 1), that she and joey are having ANOTHER baby....what happened to any previous babies?
