Who do you think will hold/win titles in their respective weight classes in 2009? Are there any up and comers that you expect to make an impact on the sport?

I believe that Marcos Maidana will be taking the WBA Light Welterweight Title from Andreas Kotelnik and become a threat to the top of that division. And I think that the impact of other up and coming fighters like Vicious Victor Ortiz and Dimitri Salida make that a much more interesting division -- http://www.gtr5.com/ -- Edited by JimEarl at 01/10/2009 10:47 AM PST

LOL,Now that was funny.Cotto is scheduled to fight again soon against who is it?Never heard of him. Now well have to listen to another Floyd basher. But, on the bright side at least he's still alive. My style is impetuous,My defense is impregnable-Mike Tyson Cotto is coming up from a lost and he is fighting who? The fact is, Cotto is still fighting and never finished yet! While Floyd retired to avoid Cotto and Margarito to save his highly sensitive and full of improbable match ups record! Floyd retired a time in which Cotto, Margarito and Williams are literally breathing down his neck and can no longer be ignored, is rather telling if you ask me. The fact is, Mayweather can?t continue to avoid these fighters, mainly because the boxing public won?t stomach watching him fight De La Hoya or Hatton for a second time, when it was joke to begin. I?m really hoping that Mayweather stays away from boxing and makes good his retirement from boxing. We need our champions to not avoid the best fighters in the sport, because it?s these joke fights against set up fighters that is killing the sport.!!!! -- $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ __________________________ One may disbelieve with his heart but cant deny/argue with it in his mind... __________________________ Just answer if you can! Yeah, that's him. I like that fella. In all honesty I have only been really following boxing full-time since 2002. According to Wiki, Augustas' fight against Ward was ESPN's FOTY in 2001? I may try to Youtube that one. Anyway, thanks for the info.

I assume you're referring to Emanuel Augustus. He's moved here to Australia and fights in Sydney mostly. I heard he appeared on the Calzaghe-Jones undercard most recently.

Wow I haven't posted in a while but I think 2009 should be an interesting year. I definitely want to see what happens to Cotto. Obviously want to see what Manny does. Would like to see Haye make a showing in the heavyweights and maybe get some action in that division. Can anyone tell me what the hell happened to Arce? I mean I know he lost his last HBO fight but Hey-zeus! I think Pavlik has got to save some face. I would like to see "the drunken master" whatever that guys name was fight on more of the undercards that no one cares about more than some palooka fresh off the turnip truck- at least you know he's got experience and it's cool to see a 1940's-style working boxer. As always the fellas from Mexico will most certainly keep us on our toes! And most of all I would just hope for a string of action-packed bouts....lets all come together and show people why boxing is so great.

It's more like he's at his Mansion sitting on Millions While not so terrible Joe sits in his computer chair and keeps little Floyds name buzzing in the Boxing forums.Love or Hate your keeping him in the mix.BRO My style is impetuous,My defense is impregnable-Mike Tyson
