2009 is about to begin, early predictions for champions.

Who do you think will hold/win titles in their respective weight classes in 2009? Are there any up and comers that you expect to make an impact on the sport?

Last nights fight was a great performance by Mosley but as far as a fight of the year candidate i dont think so. That would mean that the fight was competitive! lol! Look at the past fights of the year. they were all fights in which both fighters gave incredible performances and were extremely competitive. This fight was never competitive and and margarito gave a horrible performance. there is no way this can be a fight of the year candidate. It is definitely a candidate for upset of the year and performance of the year by mosley! Once again congrats to mosley!!! great performance and way to prove all the critics wrong again!

Most fighters make excuses at the end of embarassing losses; I take nothing from whatever he said after. Yeah, they're still digesting their humble pie. :) Shoot, I picked Margarito to win, but this fight was sooo one-sided, it makes you realize why boxing is like no other sport in the dramatic way in which you can be proven wrong.

It was a tremendous fight last nite, too bad that it had to be tainted with the accusation of an unknown substance in Margarito's handwrap. Now, Margarito's career will be under the watchful eye of every opposing trainer and commissioner. I would normally agreed with an imposing fine but frankly it's too late. That means that Trinidad, would have also get fined. Take it that, Trinidad was caught with padded handwraps, instead of an illegal hardening substance, the infraction is similar in either case. So, if you're going to fine one fighter, you must also fine the other. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander. From now on, there ought to be imposing fines, for such infractions to discourage, those would otherwise break the rules.
This fight surpasses Berto/Collazo for FOTY. I gave Mosley a winning chance in this fight. Mosley surprised me with his speed, especially coming from a 37 yr. old. . Mosley countered Margarito, much like Cotto, in the first 6th rds, except that he worked the body. You can't name one single thing, that helped Mosley win. It was a culmination of speed, combos, counters, jabs, holding, bodywork and a well executed gameplan. Margarito wasn't able to fight backwards. Margarito isn't used to fighting backwards. Frankly, at WW he never had to. Mosley's team did their homework, which ultimately contributed to the KO. I had picked Margarito in a shootout. He's one hell of a tough guy but so is Mosley. Congrats to Shane Mosley, on a spectacular win.

WHAT'S UP HITKING?
Good fight last night.
Hey, that man milk guzzler Knocktits is right on this one. Mosley was protected. ( By Nazeem Richardson when he had the cement taken out of Margo's gloves )

Not much has changed since last here I see. Knocktits is still gobbling up the Man Goo , in Margo flavor. :_|

P.S. How can you of all people be a Hatton fan? Hahahaha

Seriously , I like hatton too , but his fans even better. They are good for Boxing.

The Margo / Mosely fight was wild. Never thought Mosely would pitch a shut out. Looked like he was weak kneed from the opening bell. Maybe Knocktits snuck into his room b4 the fight & drained all of Marg's man milk.

Marg's handlers should have watched him like Nazeem Richardson. Knocktits is a sneaky lil bugger. like Dracula. Can drain man milk without waking up the lightest sleeper.

That is one experianced goo guzzler!

If Knockdup12 was the "boxing expert" that he thought he was, then he would know that black fighters (with the exception of a few like Marciano and Dempsey) have dominated throughout the history of boxing. In any era going back to the bare-fisted days of Jack Johnson, black fighters have been the most celebrated and recognizable fighters.

it was a wrong wrappping of the hands... the same as tito did against hopkins and they made sure he rerapped em....thats all lampley just dramatized everything pretty much like he does when he screams out commentary on his favorite fighters.....anyway i liked both i mentioned that from the start and i also said mosley had a dang good chance to win.... now saying that....mosley had a great night.... the only thing that bothers me....is all of his holding roughhousing tactics everytime margarito got off.... frankly its a shame... how black fighters get away and get fame off these type of tactics....mayweather?hopkins ...if the ref had warned and should have taken points it would have been a completely different outcome......who knos maybe mosley would of still won but he would have ate alot more leather.....if you notice in the fight with berto and collazo....berto had the fight going his way... until the ref called and took a point for holding it took a dramatic change and collazo really began to dominate.......enforcing rules changes alot of things... as they enforced the rule of the wrapping of the hands.....i think margarito should and will come back........its hard for anyone to get off even in a street fight when the other guy is wrapping you and pushing you around...the rules are there they should have been implemented....cotto woulod have beaten margarito the same way maybe earlier if he had held in the fight..... latino fighters period usually box let their hands go.... margarito didnt cope no plea... he didnt cry he just said one time its hard to get off because mosley was holding everytime i did....i mean isnt that the truth...ive always stated i hate holding its not part of boxing ..its a illegal tactic....its written in the world boxing rule book.....and i will keep ststing my position on that.....congrats to mosley ...it was a poorly refed fight......
