If Winky wins this fight I will be amazed. His legs looked shot when he fought Bernard. His age and inactivity will not help that.

Wright is gonna win this fight. He's gonna blunt and frustrate Williams all night. Boring? Yes. But also maybe the most under-rated fighter of the last decade. He was robbed against Vargas and Taylor, fought at least an even fight with Hopkins but again was the victim of terrible scoring. He has a legit claim to being the first to beat Taylor and rightly so should have been the MW champion when Pavlik came up.

Williams is not on that level. Not even close to Tito or Mosley-very active fighters that were totally taken out of their game.

Having said that, I hope Wright is off and rusty and I'd rather see Williams win and fight Pavlik than Wright. Why? Because Pavlik makes for a more entertaining MW champion than Wright and Williams v Pavlik is a more entertaining fight. Not to mention that I'd like to see someone with real power fight Williams and see what happens when Williams chin is hangin, wide open after trying to "sit down" on his punches.

Granted he beat Margarito but I would argue that was a rare underperformance by Margarito. Not to mention Williams showed ZERO power in that fight but his output was effective. Still, way over-hyped and over-rated. The last time he was "the most feared and avoided" he got his ass kicked. Hopefully he learned his lesson and hasn't been reading too much of his own press!

Unfortunately for him, Wright's gonna be much harder to hit. If he can't hurt Wright or gain some respect early, Winky's jab is gonna be in his face all night. Pavlik would have similar problems with Wright as with Hopkins. For that reason, go Williams.

It all boils down to what Winky steps through the ropes. If he's at least 75%, this should be a great fight.

Maybe, I just don't think anyone knows what speed Winky has at this point or can even remember. It seems like he fought in the 90s now! lol

well punches landed on the arms are considered blocked punches and they are not supposed to be counted but they are counted in some fights.

Hopkins only outboxes small guys (Tito, Oscar) or guys he knows he can beat...what u might call "Safe Fights".
Tarver is a bum whose fame is his KO or Roy and Pavlik is...well he's just Pavlik.
Hopkins is a dirty fighter and he did not outbox Winky. All he does is hug, hold & the usual round house tactics.

That said, Winky loses to PW by UD. Not because PW is better but the volume of punches unleashed by PW will make Winky look horrible.

That's it.....The layoff odds say no but I'm
seeing Wright as a definite live dog in this.

Winky fought Mosley, Tito, Taylor, B-Hop. Beat all of those guys in my opinion with the exception of Hopkins. And people still talk about him as if he's some kind of stepping stone for a guy thats lost to some cat named Quintana.

Wow, this guy gets no respect. Look I'd be pissed off too if boxing politics gave me 2 L's that should have been without a doubt W's (Vargas & Taylor). I'd be heated to if I busted my ass overseas fighting possibly rigged fights out there too for chump change, then I get my status up over here beating a couple of legends in the sport and I still get the shaft.

Winky put in crazy work in the sport of boxing why are they treating him like some kind of scrub that has no credibility. Watching Taylor vs Winky reminded me of the 1st Mayweather vs Castillo match cause the decision was more politically based then it was on actual skill.

They wanted to give Taylor a second chance without damaging his record with no regards to the better fighter Winky. I'd refuse to fight a rematch too, cause its almost like bowing down to your slave master and saying "do with me as you wish". Winky's integrity is still intact and thats worth more then any amount of money they'll pay him to "stick to the script". And I applaud him for that.

Everybody and they momma knows that Winky is a better fighter than Taylor anyway so in all reality he has a whole lot more to lose if he takes the 5 mil to fight him and they give him the shaft again. Then if he refuses the rematch and continue his career as one the the era's great fighters who has never ducked anybody.

Boring or not Winky is a great fighter and I can't wait till he schools Williams.

Quicker hands will make the biggest difference in this fight and Winky has them compared to Paul Williams.

I can't understand this guy, I mean he turned down 5 mill for the rematch-exactly who the hell Winky think he is? You see the difference between Winky and Floyd-fans and anti fans can't seem to keep Floyds name out their mouths-Winky retires and you can hear a pen drop-nobody cares and he's crazy.

Abraham wanted to fight him and he was acting like it didn't enterest him-Arum tried to get him a match vs Pav and he turned it down. The thing that get's me is when I hear about him turning fights down I turn on HBO and here's Winky fighting freaking Sam Soliman.

Who the hell knew Sam Soliman then and this was before the Contender series-so who ever heard of him? If Mosely only got a lil over 2 mill for fighting Margarito I can only imagine how much money Winky is getting for Paul. Both Mosely & Margarito could put more butts in seats off fighting bums than those 2 can fighting each other.

Wink is a perfect example of a fighter who thought that beating a star made him a star, and it just doesn't happend like that in boxing. Your right mannmann, this cat spent his entire career fighting overseas and on RJ undercards, and when he finally got his break, he started acting like an ass. But look on the bright side. After he gets beaten up by Williams, he can always fight Bronco McKart for the 1,000,000th time.

Winky messed up alot of money 4 himself-he should've taken the rematch with Taylor and just kept fighting because I don't think he's going 2 be around much longer.

If he loses against Williams it's all over. Winky is crazy and so is his team, dude worked his ass off his whole career fighting over sea's, for less money-not really getting any big fights-getting some what of a bad call vs Vargas.

He finally get's his chance vs Mosely then Tito-then he get's a deal with HBO-Taylor-Quartey and B-Hop. He could've been fought Pav-he could've fought Abraham 2 but he got beside himself chasing Oscar.

Now he's fighting Williams, now exactly how much is he getting for this dangerous fight-I mean neither guy is a draw-Winky F--K his career up from having a big head.
