I think Tony's power is more heavy-handed rather than shocking because of his lack of speed...I don't see Tony hitting Miguel that square or flush...I think Margarito has decent power, but it's not as sharp as Cotto's...but Margarito probably has the better beard. All in all, good fight, for sure. -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2008/02/12/pavlik-taylor-ii-rematch-will-yield-similar-result/

I would favor Quintana to win a slugfest because of his boxing skills, he also has a record against hard hitters except vs Cotto. Margarito vs Cotto could possibly be fight of the year, except both fighters are with Arum, there's a huge conflict of interest, unfortunately.

What the hell is all this talk about Pacman being #1 pound for pound? Are you kidding me. He's good there's no question but lets be serious here. He beat up on some washed up legends (Barrera & Morales) after they went through a huge war against one another and I'm suppose to be impressed? Morales still managed to pull out a win in the 1st fight as to say "look Barrera I beat a dude that whooped you". Morales was seeking redemption for his 2 losses to Barrera and he was determined to beat Pacman and thats exactly what he did. He lost his fire after that and I really can't blame him. He's old and he's been fighting his whole life. As far as the Marquez fight goes he got stunned by Pacman, got his nose broken, and was put on his ass 3 times in the 1st round. And what did he do after that? Dominated him for the rest of the fight breathing outta his mouth. There's just too much hype in boxing these days its no wonder UFC is giving the sport a run for its money. Don't get me wrong I'll watch a good boxing match over a UFC bear hugging competition. But you guys need to open your eyes about certain fighters. First you guys said Paul Williams was all big and bad and he turned out to be the joke I predicted him to be. Now you guys are saying Pacman is Pound for pound the best? Come on guys wake up. Pacman is good but he aint the best boxer in the world. Bhop Calzage & Floyd are dudes I can name off the top of my head right now that are better fighters then he is. Pacman the best<<<<<< LOL snap outta that dream

Pacman is good. But pound for pound #1? You gotta be kidding me. As much as I think that Floyd is a coward I still have to give him his due. Pac beat up on some over the hill legends and now everyone is on his jock. Morales and Barrera were clearly never the same after the wars they had against each other. And yet Morales still managed to pull out a win against the Pacman in their 1st fight.

It's his bread and butter. No one has taken him out of his game yet. I like Cotto. I respect what he's doing. I give him a fair shake and beating Margarito but its not a wash. We don't know how well he will hold up against Tony's power. -- "To thine ownself be true. No one else is buying that line of BS you're delivering anyway.". ~Bigtime 101~

Very good point sensetalk. There was a long time ago in a galaxy far far way that welterweights fought each other, lost, won, and lost again (Benitez, Duran, Hearns, Leonard, et al)....damn, those were the days. -- Find boxing predictions, tickets, videos and views at http://www.FightInsight.com.

Bets potential fights at welterweight: Mayweather-Cotto Cintron-Williams Margarito-Quintana Berto-Clottey Since it appears unlikely that Mayweather will fight Cotto anytime, if ever...I'd say I'd have to go with Cotto-Margarito. -- Find boxing predictions, tickets, videos and views at http://www.FightInsight.com.

Quintana vs Margarito would be an awsome fight and very likely to happen, as Margarito has been right on track to get his title back and is still a contender and Quintana just pulled the offset and took the belts, offrailing a possible Willims-Margarito rematch. Quintana vs Mosley would be a great matchup. I wouldn't be surprised if Quintana and Cotto tried to unify.

This fight has proven what we all said some time ago, .............................. that in this division, ............. there are fighters who will win fights, ......... but quickly come unstuck in their next match. It's a close division and beating one or two people does not mean you beat the next guy, ......................... not by a long shot. This is a great division with numerous high quality pugilists and a range of differing styles. Bravo Carlos Quintana, ......... bravo 147lb ! -- Edited by sensetalk at 02/15/2008 2:05 PM

Props to Quintana he definitely made me put my foot in my mouth. I thought Williams would be the biggest force in the welterweight division...I was wrong. You can't judge someone from one fight. Moving on. A Mosley/Quintana fight is being talked about. Personally I'm like the next guy who wants unification but Mosley's boxing could present a great problem for Quintana. Plus there is no one else for each guy to face. Floyd and Oscar are already ruining 2008 which was supposed to be a huge year for boxing. Besides money, Floyd will get nothing. Beating Oscar again will not silence the critics, but bring more out. Pavlik/Taylor can easily be an upset. This is a definite PPV I will be ordering. I can't remember the last PPV I was so certain about. Maybe Jones/Ruiz or MAB/Morales. Anyone know the undercard? I don't see Hopkins slowing down Calzaghe's energy. Call me crazy but I give Taylor and Pavlik a better shot. Why not have Oscar fight Quintana in May? It will make a Mayweather bout SOMEWHAT appealing if he can pull it off. A decent non-ppv treat from the Golden Boy and...wait...nevermind Puerto Rican...forgot...bring on Forbes.

Lederman is a bum. He use to call the majority of fights correct. But he has fallen. Fights are scored of clean punching, effective agressivess, and ring generalship. Lederman forgets to add the effective when he speaks on agressiveness.
