interesting question I guess it depends on the individual. a female may offer styles, techniques, even thought patterns that may vary from the ordinary. women are different let us not let political correct rubbish confuse that. but different can be better or worse depends on the individual trainer and boxer?

If I were a young fighter, MMA star Gina Carano could train me anytime, regardless of what she knew about boxing. As for Ann Wolfe, she scares me too.

It is all about style. If there is a good communication fit, woman or man, it doesn't matter. I think most trainers are equally capable of offering tactical advice and training programs. But getting a fighter comfortable with executing -- that is a case to case fit and a two way street. -- Cruiserweights - what the heavyweight division would be if the heavyweight division didn't really really really suck.

I wouldn't have a problem with a female trainer. Especially Ann WOlfe, she is one tough cookie. Ali would have still beaten her but Ann Wolfe would of went down swinging.

Yeah, as long as it isn't Ann Wolfe... Kidding, I would pick one of those real old school guys, like the guy that B-hop used to use... Boxing is a man's sport. I hate seeing women boxers.

[i ] Gender won't make a difference, unless while a fighter is training, his female counterpart (trainer) is doing her nails or watching her favorite soap. 'L No seriously, every trainer has a different training method.. What's old school? Back in the golden days of boxing, fighters had to train outdoors, warehouses, garages, or rundown gyms. They had to use whatever broken down equipment, was available. There were no machines, that one could insert a training program card, to lose weight and count calories. Nowadays, gyms are stock with the latest technological equipment, workstations, treadmills and personalize trainers. I think that we have the best of both worlds. The combination of the old/new methods and equipment, offers todays' fighter an edge, which they had never envisioned. Some trainers still incorporate woodchopping and the use of the sledgehammer, in their training regimen.

I think it depends on your comfort zone. Who makes you feel the best in the ring and gives the best real time advice. Gender doesnt make a difference IMO. Although I dont think women should fight, they should stay pretty.

I don't see why any fighter would rule out anyone based on gender. A good trainer is a good trainer.
