After reading about his tragic passing yesterday, I thought it would be worthy to have a thread that was just about the positive in his life instead of the horrible way it ended. Rest in Peace, you were a great champion!

When is HBO going to air the Forrest-Mosley fights as they did the Gatti-Ward Trilogy, it's been over a week already. Be fair!

With Smoger reffn a fight-some 1's gettn their ass whooped. I'm glad he didn't stop it cause Shane did some what decent after the 2nd round-but damn do any 1 remember's round 10 when Vernon hit Shane to the body and you could hear Shane yell out loud.

Forrest vs Mayorga 1
He had the balls to stick to his guns. He knew he could outbox his opponent but was determined to crack Ricardo. Ric irritated me too but proved to be resilient. Kudos for that fight. Both landing hard shots. No retreat, no surrender.

Of course Vernon's first fight with Mosley was his best, but my favourite is his second fight with Sergio Mora, his last. Forrest went back to his roots, and used his superb jab to keep the clinching and flinching Mora at bay, and fought so hard for redemption. Forrest was so determined to prove his first loss to Mora was a fluke, and the result of less than his best effort.

A class act that will be missed by the boxing world that knows better. First fight against Mosley my favorite. I was actually going for Mosley but who would have thought Forrest would hand him a whooping the way he did. I remember before the fight I was telling people damn Vernon is tall and long for a welterweight. Shane may have trouble getting too him... Well, Vernon had no problem getting to Shane thats for sure. Size, and Vernons ability to use his size against Shane was the difference in their fights. Rest in peace Vernon and God Bless your family.

My favorite vernon forrest fight was his first win against mosley. who saw that coming??? I also was a big fan of his dominating performance against mora in the rematch. What a way to go out. On top like he deserves to. RIP viper

Vernon has a couple very exciting fights-the 1st Mosely fight was the shit. I was in Korea @ the time & my wife jus so happen 2 turn the TV on right before Vernon was T N off on him in the 2nd round.
I have 2 say I don't think 2 many people saw that cumn-after the fight I learned that Mosely had problems w/ Forrest style back n the day also. The rematch was kinda boring but I'll always remember Forrest feinting with his right & Mosely almost broke his neck 2 avoid it.
Both fights w/ Mayorga were exciting-he was a pretty good fighter that was plagued w/ injuries. I pray that his family will be able 2 move on w/ their lives. Forrest was a pretty down 2 earth guy-he stood 4 more than just money.
You never heard Forrest braggn about a car or some chain around his neck-he was 2 bizzy supporting Destiny Child-how many people still care about anything or anybody other than themselves or their immediate family. He's accomplished alot-not just as a fighter and he wasn't afraid 2 let every1 know he was a God fearing man. I got a lil teary eyed when I read he passed-

The first fight with Mosley of course, when he almost took his head off with one of the nastiest uppercuts I've ever seen.
