I am very inclined to agree with that.Calzaghe jus doesnt have what it takes to be in there with B-Hop.Calzaghe is good against one dimensional opponents (sad to say, thats wut I think Lacy is).I think B-Hop would box circles around Calzaghe & finish him in like the 9th or 10th -- It is what it is!

Hopkins would KO Calzaghe late. Jeff Lacy is strictly a power puncher (no jab, very little head movement), B-Hop would slowly and methodically break Calzaghe down over a period of rounds and get em' late. Bernard is not only a skilled fighter, but he's a hard fighter and Calzaghe has never been in with a fighter of Hopkins' caliber. Hopkins can not only hurt you with his fist, but he's one of the more skilled fighters when it comes to using other body parts to inflict pain on his opponent. He'd use his head, hit Calzaghe in the hips (he's infamous for that) and just wear em' down over time.

My pick: Calzaghe by split decision Tarver isn't done; last I heard he's movin' up a weight class to fight one of the greatest heavyweights of the big screen: Rocky Balboa (Christmas 06)...should be a good one. But on a more serious note, at this point in his career Calzaghe v. anyone isn't a superfight. I've already stated how I feel about him (like him, he can fight) but he doesn't have much of a followin' outside of Britain (he's a Welshman). I imagine a PPV involvin' Calzaghe would be financially unimpressive to say the least. And if, because I seriously doubt the Executioner would come out of retirement for Calzaghe of all fighters, they fought Hopkins beats him (Unanimous Decision).

Two days after I wrote that, the market swung back up damn near two bucks. You sittin' and holdin' or you trading? This isn't 1988.

Tarver is done. As for Hopkins, I believe he will stay retired, but if he comes out of retirement this year, he will fight Calzaghe. That would be a superfight. Hopkins proved he still has something in the tank and if Calzaghe could ever stay healthy during a full training camp, that would be a great fight. My pick: Calzaghe by split decision

"Maybe I should change my ring name from 'Left Hook' to 'The Magic Man' since I'm the one who made Tarver disappear." ~~ Former super middleweight titlist Jeff Lacy, on former light heavyweight champ Antonio Tarver (nicknamed 'The Magic Man'), who seems to be ducking Lacy's challenge to fight him this fall in Tampa, Fla., the area where they both live.

Ok but he is aging and already a hall of famer. What more can he do? This would be like the UFC hall of famer Ken Shamrock, way past his prime, going to fight again. It is not the same and there just isnt a lot of gas left.

...this is exactly what i was saying, Roy was so superior that he outclassed everyone with his superb skills and athleticism. ...but superior athleticism and heart doesn't necessarily go hand and hand. ...he's a super-talented cur, as soon as the fight is not in his overwhelming favor, he gets scared and chicken out...he can only fight if he totally outclasses his opponent. ...the minute he finds out that the opponent is going to give him a hard time, he fights like a coward and start running, not attacking like he should be able to....the last Tarver fight exemplifies this.
