> This fighter will be shorter, like anywhere from 5'11"-6'1". The fighter will have to concentrate on shere punching numbers and being lightning fast with defense. Get in punch about 8 times and get out. Or get in what you can and clinch like a madman. That was the tact of the one boxer so far that took Valuev closest to the edge. I can't stand his style, but John Ruiz took it to Valuev and frustrated him a lot from what I've read about their bout. I would love to see tape on this fight, but it is nowhere to be found. We all know Ruiz and how he grinds. That style of fight with some dedicated body work MIGHT do the trick against Valuev. Even so, I still haven't seen anyone really hurt the giant yet.

Valuev is tall and DOES have good technique. He fights tall, throws his jab an awful lot. He is a hard guy to get inside on. It is easy to make fun of Chewbacca, and by no means is he a "great" heavyweight. But a 7 footer with some form of a chin and who knows how to box tall is going to be a challenge for anyone. The formula to crack Valuev is easy. EXECUTING the formula is difficult.

Valuev will end up fighting Klitscko, there is no doubt in my mind. Val said himself that he wants to rule the heavy weight boxing world. After seeing his fight with Barret, I don't think anybody is strong enough to hurt the guy. HE WEIGHS 368 LBS. FOR PETE'S SAKE! He is honestly a jugernought. The thing is that Barret is by no means a small man, 6'3" at 260 lbs. Barret was giving Val all he had and Val walked right through it. Val's skull is too thick. Wlad can't beat him because he is too slow and has a glass jaw. It will take a heavy weight that will just give up on the idea of knocking Val out, it will not it cannot happen. This fighter will be shorter, like anywhere from 5'11"-6'1". The fighter will have to concentrate on shere punching numbers and being lightning fast with defense. Get in punch about 8 times and get out. Speed is the key and scoring points. Agree?

Granted, Valuev has poor technique and throws predictable punch combinations, but nobody seems to hurt the guy. It would be nice to see him step up the competition, but the guy still is formidable. Maybe size is all that matters, and maybe being a tank isn't a bad thing...

Valuev is an easy formula to prepare for. The guy is huge and he should be leveling guys with each shot. The only thing impressive about him is it seems like he has good stamina. But Barrett seemed to momentarily buckle Valuev with those shots thrown from the second row. Valuev's body is extremely thick; I wouldn't even bother with it. Take a fighter with a good right hook who throws with some power to counter Valuev each time he throws one of those plodding jabs. Someone with some good side-to-side movement who knows how not to get tied up. Or you could just throw him in there with Klitschko and he'll get his head chopped off. -- Save the Kronk! http://www.petitiononline.com/Kronk/petition-sign.html?

I DON'T THINK THE BRIGGS VS VALUEV FIGHT WILL EVER HAPPEN. BRIGGS MIGHT BE THE MOST DANGEROUS 4 ROUND FIGHTER NEXT TO IRON MIKE. BRIGGS DOES HAVE ENOUGH RUDIMENTARY BOXING SKILLS TO GIVE VALUEV FITS. HE DIDN'T SEEM TO ADJUST TO THE TINY BIT OF MOVEMENT BARRETT OFFERED. ALSO BARRETT DIDN'T LOOK LIKE HE LANDED ANY PERFECT COMBO'S.(NOT TO MUCH PERFECT ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER). BRIGSS TEE'ING OF ON VALEUV SKY DOME? KLISCHKO WILL RAIN BETTER COMBO'S AS THE FIGHT WEARS ON. ALL HE HAS TO DO IS LEAD THE GIANT AROUND TILL HE TIRES, THEN BEGIN APPLYING STEADY PRESSURE. -- Edited by edogz818 at 10/11/2006 10:54 PM

> HOW MANY PERFECT BODY SHOTS DID BARRETT LAND? Not as many, but the few he threw seemed to bounce off him. Barret's a decent puncher. Valuev can take it, at least from regular sized guys. Briggs type shots who knows? -- Bears Win !! (5-0) Yeah Baby!

If I were fighting against an army tank, the last place I would stand would be right in front of the main turret. Yet, that is exactly what Barrett did all night...stood right in the line of fire of Valuev's barrel, that is, his one-dimensional paw-jab/straight right combination. What ever happened to the concept of "stick and move," Monte? Don't you know how to move around an army tank? Ahhhhhhh....poor Owen Beck did the same thing. Have these new fighters forgotten about range/distance control....movement....and a stick and move jab???? And, what about feints? Jesus, man, you had an army tank in front of you. You mean to tell me that you couldn't be quicker than the giant. Dayum, Monte, go and sit down somewhere...you were embarrasing to say the least.

LOL Berret hit him with so many perfect left hooks, I lost count. The man didn't flinch. Klitchko, will probaby hit him with 100 power-shots a round. He'll probably combo the skin off his face. Not sure if I want to even watch it? Yeah, I probably will. If it happens? -- Bears Win !! (5-0) Yeah Baby!
