He recently fought a few weeks ago and won once again, but he's also 33 years old and has had quite a few setbacks in regards to prison and other things in his life. He has Pernell Whitaker training him, I think his chances of making it back to the top are pretty good, what do you think?

We are sad to report that former world champion Vernon Forrest was tragically and senselessly murdered at about 11PM on Saturday night in Atlanta during an attempted carjacking. Reportedly Forrest had stopped at a gas station to put air in the tire of his late model Jaguar when two thugs attempted to take his vehicle. Forrest had a firearm and a chased away his assailants but according to Atlanta police, in an ensuing firefight Forrest was shot eight times with semi-automatic weapons.

If Hatton continues his career, how about Spadafora - Hatton? I think it could be a good fight at 140lbs. -- www.boxingledger.blogspot.com

i doubt it. But he needs to cash in on that undefeated record of his. It's a very good record and financially i doubt he has the luxary to just retire like calzaghe did. It would be nice to just retire without a loss but i suggest he gets in the mix at welterweight and try to get a fight against one of hbo's superstar fighters like cotto or even MAYWEATHER. floyd is on a beating up on non welterweights tour and there is that sparring video of spadafora and floyd where paul did pretty good. he could use that for promotion and taunt mayweather in the press conferences. hell paul williams did it with margarito and there was no proof that he whooped him in sparring.

He may not deserve the opportunity right now, but I would like to see Spadafora against the winner of Nate Campbell vs. Timothy Bradley. -- www.boxingledger.blogspot.com

I always thought Spadafora was a decent little fighter, but his draw with Leonard Dorin kinda showed me he didn't have what it takes to reach the elite level of the sport. Now, he's getting older, heavier, and has been inactive for long periods. I think whatever he could have been is probabaly pasted. His skills have likely eroded a bit, and he has absolutely no power. He'll likely be beaten the second he steps in with any top 10 140 lber or welterweight.

He needs a defining fight. He still has the skills at 33 years old, but time is running out. I would like to see him on HBO again in a competitive fight!

I guess it's a matter of perspective again Body, I know he got some flack for supposedly not fighting the best out there but having a big undefeated record and supposedly schooling Mayweather during a sparring session had people talking before he was locked up. I watched him fight quite a bit and I thought he was pretty well known.
