After seeing Taylor beat Lacy with ease, do you think we could see him fight Pavlik or Hopkins again? Is he ready for a fight with these guys or does he need some more work, what are your thoughts?

From Taylor's perspective, I think he's done with Pavlik. Therefore, Hopkins is a more likely opponent. But I think Taylor is more likely to hang around 168 a bit and see what happens. Maybe he's hoping Hopkins can pull the goods out one more time, beat Dawson and then move up to fight Hopkins a third time for the legit LHW title. All that provided Joe is done.

It's the same in the sense that the primary reason is that BOTH were looking to cash out, i.e. against easier opponents (Margarito even more so...I mean, he turned down MORE than $2 million for a rematch with Williams as well)...he knows he can beat Cotto and for more money...of course Tony is not scared, but then you can't call other cats scared for taking high reward, low risks bouts as well. That's all I'm saying. Cotto is not low risk. Mosley is a lesser risk imo. Given how long it took him to take out Mayorga he's got no shot at putting down Tony. And he don't have the footwork of a lightweight anymore. -- Edited by GunRunner2 at 11/23/2008 9:50 PM PST

Ja - I really don't blame Tony for telling GBP to go fuck themselves and declining the Mosley fight. It's really not quite the same thing as what Winky did. Tony was expecting to fight Oscar after he beat Cotto. Oscar punked out. So he did the same in return. Winky should've taken the rematch with Jermain. If he really thought he won the fight it shoulda been an easy thing to do to prove it to everyone. Oscar is clearly ducking Tony to fight a much smaller Manny.

Margarito better be careful he doesn't suffer a similar fate, waiting on a rematch with Cotto... -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2008/11/23/verno-will-lose-to-the-man-with-no-weight-class/

Taylor/Hopkins 3 has a better chance of taken place. Hopkins is a HOF. His days as a fighter are dwindling. What not better way to run off into the sunset, with a win against the man, who beat him twice? Sadly, that's a good point.

Call me crazy but I think Hopkins - Taylor 3 has a different outcome.

Where is Winky Wright in this big picture? I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing Winky take on Pavlik, Kessler, Tarver, Calzaghe, Dawson, or Hopkins and Taylor again. In my opinion, Winky Wright can more than hold his own against any of the above mentioned fighters.

No WAY!!! there was little chance of seeing a trilogy in either case before. hopkins win over pavlik pretty much killed any shot of these fights happening

I wouldn't care to see either fight. First of all there is no tie breaker drama -Taylor beat Hop twice and Pavlik beat Taylor twice. I think twice was enough.

pavlik beat taylor convincingly in both fights...more convincingly in the first fight......the weight gain as showed aginst hopkins...didnt do any favors for pavlik in his secon match up with taylor hence made it a closer fight.....now hopkins taylor on the other hand would be a more worthy matchup.....although i wouldnt watch it....but the fact that they both fought down to the wire both fights....yah i guess

the thing i like about taylor is that he will fight the best or the best name fighters. as some people have mentioned he doesn't dominate when he does win. having taylor to fight hopkins or pavlik again is pointless and i have no interest. there is not a lot of attractive boxers at 168 lbs. most people think Kessler is the best at 168 and believe that will be a good fight for Taylor. Taylor's body looked soft at 168 so i cant image him fighting at 175 lbs, where the better boxers are. Guv - good points about Taylor. The kid has sand. He don't back down from anyone. And he's got the grit to get back in the saddle when he's bucked off. He may not be old school but he does have the type of fighter's spirit that made this sport popular.
