Pacquio, Barrera, Top Rank, Golden Boy, is this a Circus? GB offering 5 million to Pacquio? Pacman is worth more than that.....if Arum is in Philipines is because something big is going on. Otherwise he will be in Ixtacalco Mexico city offering 5 million to barrera to fight Pacquio (u know Barrera left Forum Boxing for Money like all boxers do) but Barrera is in his Way out. I understand Pacman is smart and wont fight under GB because he does not need Barrera. Everybody knows whos going to win. Pacquio´s got big fights down the road. Who needs this fight? Barrera because he´s almost gone and HBO does not want barrera to do Showcases (for Millons) like the two he had this year. Barrera looks for money not glory. HBO BOXING is for warriors (like Gatti) not for dancers like Barrera. Isnt it HBO BOXING? Lets see what HBO brings to the table next year. Thanks HBO but please dont let Barrera do more Showcases because i wont pay. Texasfan.

I don't think winning on points is a sign of weakness. I think excessive holding and throwing jabs from the outside while constantly backing away from a MUCH smaller guy who doesn't punch hard & has just moved up in weight is a sign of weakness. He was actually running away from Ouma for parts of that fight, I think that is a true sign of weakness.

Taylor is the middleweight champion, what his oponent does shouldn't matter. You say that him halving Ouma's output is a worthy accomplishment, I don't think it is. If he would have BACKED HIM UP or knocked his ass down that would be an accomplishment. He never even hurt Ouma. He lowered Ouma's output more by his constant holding and running than he did by any power punches...

Am I the only one who remembers that clown talking big in the press before the fight about Knocking out a fighter who has no power is much smaller and is moving up, in weight divisions?

Don't believe the hype...

Don't take Taylor's not knocking Ouma down as a sign of weakness. Ouma brings a different kind of focus to the ring and it's quite possible that middleweight suits him better than junior middle. The guy has killed people. I imagine that does something to your mentality and it might not have mattered how hard Taylor hit him short of taking his head off he just wasn't going down. And I know Ouma has been knocked down before, but the circumstances between then and Taylor are not the same.

Look at the way Taylor landed cleanly and how unshook Ouma remained. I mean it's bad that Ouma took so many but give Taylor his credit; he halved Ouma's punch output and blasted off on him as often as he wished. Short of knocking a guy out what more can you ask for?

Calzaghe is easily avoidable for Taylor and he should do so. Taylor/Calzaghe will be very similar to Lacy/Calzaghe except Taylor won't try to tee off on Calzaghe's head all night and Lacy doesn't have stamina issues. Once Taylor gassed out from the frenetic pace Calzaghe set he will be in danger of being KO'd. In the end it depends on how much punishment Taylor can take. Taylor needs to focus on a rematch with Winky, take on Miranda maybe bounce up to Super Middle and duke it out with two fringe elites and retire (if he indeed sticks to his word).

Really? Based on what, how much you like him?

He couldn't knock DOWN Ouma once much less actually knock him out, and Ouma isn't even a legit middleweight. How is he going to KO two guys who are both bigger, stronger, and MUCH more talented than he is?

Don't believe the hype....

Calzaghe said he couldn't take the Taylor fight now because it wouldn't be fair. This should be obvious to anyone who knows boxing and has actually seen these guys fight. Try watching Taylor's fights with the volume turned off, and really looking at the fight. You will see a TOTALLY different fight than Lampley is calling..

Taylor pulled off two major win against hopkins (who won 20 straight fights). Taylor is the man at middleweight. Wright don't want to fight him again because of that. Miranda is tough but not tough enough. Taylor would KO Tarver and do the same to Calzaghe. A fighter must fight every fight different. And that why Taylor is the Champ.

Antonio Tarver vs. Jermain Taylor at lightheavyweight would be a decent matchup, especially if the winner gets a crack at Joe Calzaghe. Also, a Tarver move to heavyweight versus a Holyfield or Toney would be interesting. Once Rocky Balboa hits the theaters this week, my guess is that Antonio Tarver will once again be a hot commodity. For his sake, I hope that Tarver takes advantage of this golden opportunity and makes himself a few bucks by fighting some top names before he finally gets out of the game.

Did anyone see what Calzaghe said about fighting Taylor next?

What a true gentleman, he is a class act in a sport where having any class gets you penalized big time....

Why not?

Neither Winky or Hopkins is a KO puncher, didn't Lacy survive 12 rounds against Calzaghe and didn't Baldomir go 12 against PBF? Tarver went 12 with Hopkins, Tarver is a MUCH better fighter that Taylor. He is another one that has physical advantages but is lacking in all the other departments...

Taylor is physically gifted. He is big and strong. Strong not necesarily a strong puncher. He is being coached to hold, to jab and run.

What does Manny know about him that he chooses to coach him that way?

Cotto fights a little bit like that, but he is a brutal puncher. He deals damage and hurts good opponents. Taylor has only looked good against C and D type fighters.

I SECOND THAT NOTION !!!!!

JERMAIN TAYLOR IS A BOXER OF LIMITED SKILLS WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE PREMIER MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD AT THIS POINT. HIS HANDLERS ARE CAREFUL TO KEEP HIM PROTECTED. JT HAS HAD FOUR, COUNT 'EM, FOUR MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHTS AND HAS ONLY CLEARLY WON ONE, AGAINST AN UNDERSIZED AND UNDERSKILLED KASSIM OUMA, IN RATHER UNIMPRESSIVE FASHION. HOW MANY LEGITIMATE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPS HAVE HAD THIS MANY "QUESTIONABLE" VICTORIES? HIS HANDLERS SAY THEY WANTED TO GIVE HIM OUMA BECAUSE HE'S HAD TOO MANY DIFFICULT FIGHTS IN A ROW...HELLO, CAN YOU SAY, SHANE MOSLEY, SHANE MOSLEY, FELIX TRINIDAD, JERMAIN TAYLOR, AND IKE QUARTEY NEARLY IN A ROW? YEAH, NO ONE SAID THAT ABOUT WINKY WRIGHT...WHO FOUGHT AND "BEAT" THEM ALL.

"IF" JT GIVES WRIGHT ANOTHER SHOT, HE LOSES. WRIGHT LANDED 100 MORE PUNCHES IN THAT FIGHT AND THREW 100 LESS!!!!!! AND HE LOST, ARE YOU NUTS. JT'S DAYS ARE NUMBERED, HE FIGHTS WRIGHT AGAIN, HE LOSES. HE MOVES UP TO FIGHT CALZAGHE, AND HIS LIMITED SKILLS AND UNDEREXPOSED FLAWS WILL GET HIS HEAD KNOCKED OFF (ASK JEFF LACY)...AND HE WONT BE ABLE TO HIDE FROM EDISON MIRANDA FOR LONG. ARTHUR HAS A BROKEN JAW WITH TWO PINS IN IT FROM THE GUY, HE WILL GO THRU TAYLOR TOO...

TAYLOR IS THE MOST PATHETIC MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION IN THE LAST 25 YEARS, AND LIKES OF SUGAR RAY, THOMAS HEARNS, ROBERTO DURAN, MARVELOUS MARVIN, GERALD MCCLELLAN, JULIAN JACKSON, CARLOS MONZON WOULD RIPPED THIS DUD TO PIECES...HE IS PLASTIC AND THAT WILL SOON BE EXPOSED, ONCE HIS HANDLERS HAVE FED HIM A STEADY DIET OF BUMS AND DISPUTABLE DECISIONS.
