I read this quote by Budd Schulberg: "Dempsey fought you as if he had just caught you with your hand in his pocket. Tunney stabbed and sliced you like a fencing master, Louis was an executioner. [And] Rocky chops you down like a tree, with an ax swung by a powerful if somewhat inaccurate woodsman." Were his musings an accurate description of these fighters styles? If you were to write up something like this, about any fighter, what would you say about them? -- ~Susan

this internet encounter is best summarized as such: keyboard enthusiast uncovers possible multiple personality disorder within forum like an anal retentive archaeology intern. said suspect counters and intesifies via caps lock key engagement. now, dont take it the wrong way guys, i'm not taking sides. just testing out the metaphor/hyperbole thing and you keyboard warriors are fighters in your own unique way.

kidplump-I think you and knockits12 are the same person-so that make's you confused. You hear this knockit12-the gig is up-I know that's you-you are really sick changing your name to kidplump and posing as a skirt just to continue to bash Floyd. Even when you're not talking about Floyd you're thinking about him. kidplump-if you really are a female-you can't be a dime-you should be a fighter with a name like that-but I still think you're knockits12 with a purse and high heels.

I think Amir Khan watched Tszyu/Judah and decided to base his style on the "Chicken Dance", he's not quite mastered it yet as his legs can't carry him long enough to do the dance, but as he is still young and has time to strengthen those calf's, I think we'll see him acheive his goal in the near future......

i would say, just from clips i seen, the descriptions are about right except for dempsey as a fencer. dempsey jumped on willard like a wolverine. he just attacked him and beat the crap outta him. no fencing there, just a real savage beating. then against firpo, the bear caught the wolverine first and suprised him but eventually the wolverines edge in speed and aggression won out. louis was a more patient stalking kind of a fighter but he did come to execute eventually closing in and punishing with those pinpoint cross hook combos. imo marciano fought like he wanted to be louis but had to adjust because he was shorter and slower. fortunately he was matched with a couple ex light heavys but unfortunately, they were two of the history's best lightheavys. i'd say rock wanted to be louis but couldnt get off the same combos and had to try to dig in harder with each shot. the best way to describe am would be to say that he's the second coming of wilfredo rivera. wonder how rivera feels at home watching knowing that he came along just 10-12 years too early. both am and rivera i'd describe as slow but strong and very determined fighters.
