There have been some great fights so far this year and more to come but I'd like to know who has impressed you the most and why.

i gotta say iv been impressed with carl froch actually. when he first won his paper belt i just saw him as another beltholder to be beatin by a top guy. i thought he'd lose to taylor, i thought he'd lose to dirrel. (although some would say he did lose that fight) he's not very fast, he's not very powerful, he doesnt have a deffense and is a bit sloppy but the man wins he does what has to be done he has kept on winning and even though the dirrel fight was ugly and not very entertaining he still won and impresssed alot yuriorkis gamboa has looked good as usual. the opposition hasnt been that great but the way he beat them was just very dominating. hes so fast and so fluid that he just makes everyone look like theyre not even fighting back. and like iv said before his defense has improved a little. he has been knocked down four times but not at all this year. he'll never be mistaken for willie pep or pernell whitaker butwho cares hes exciting and i cant wait to see more

1 fight & all-Floyd Mayweather hands down has impressed me more this year than any other fighter has. The skills are great, not very good but great. Not a hugger, but I have 2 give credit where credit is due. I've had people who don't know boxing thinking Marquez was a bum-I told them he's a great fighter-he was just outclassed by a much greater fighter.

Juan Manuel Marquez! Perfect example of what a boxer is. I will tell you exactly what's wrong with this sport! The sport has let these frickin' wimps choose their fights. This is a job and the IBF, WBO etc........ should take control of it by setting the fights up themselves. If a fighter wimps out on a fighter, I think the fighter who pu**ied out should recieve a loss on their record, and the other fighter should recieve a TKO. it's only fair. (Let's see if they don't give a 110% sheeht) Mayweather is a perfect example of a pu**y! He picks fighters he knows he has a chance with just so that his record remains undefeated. what kinda pu**y a$$ sh*t is that?! These fighters are should look at money just as it is "Prize Money" nowadays they are just obsessed with money. Money corrupts everything, just look at the sport! whatever happened to the days of DeLaHoya? Chavez? Arce? Barrera? Vargas? Morales? Paez? Pacquiao too appears to be selling out! have u seen him lately on HBO 24/7? -- Edited by luisluv65 at 10/30/2009 9:39 PM PDT

The two most impressive fighters Ive seen this year are Manny and Sugar Shane. If Cotto somehow ko's Manny I'll never talk shit about the dude again. I'll make Dax look like a fuckin piker when it comes to ridin the nuttrain.

Cotto will end up being the most impressive fighter in 09 hands down. After ripping up Jennings in a fairly easy tuneup for the WBO strap and taking care of buisness against Clottey in a gutsy one eyed performance which woulda gave him the IBF strap as well if Clottey decided to pay for the sanctioning fee. After he knocks out Pac he will be without question the most impressive fighter of 09. -- Edited by mr908 at 10/07/2009 10:12 AM PDT

no question Manny! But...as of rite now, the only one who can beat manny is Mayweather. Wrong. Shane Mosley has the biggest chance to beat Pacquiao.

gamboa in the fact that hes startin to clean his deffense up a bit, same for katsidis for improving his technique. valero only fought once and i dont think it was too impressive juan ma did look good at keeping his composure in fights that went a little while but he was expected to dominate those fights he should focus on fighting more legetimate contenders at 122 celestino for example haha then trying to make a fight at 126 with gamboa. id like to see gamboa fight lopez just as much as anyone but i want them to build it up better by fighting the best in their divisions
