I actually thought Froch would get a late TKO but I also stated there was no way in hell that Dirrell was gonna get a decision.

Observations: Jermain Taylor should retire, Arthur Abraham is underrated, Carl Froch is one of the best (guts and strength), worst (basically no boxing skills) champs fighting today, and Andre Dirrell is the most-skilled fighter in the tourney but probably needs to sit down on his punches more (maybe he doesn't trust his chin?). And oh yeah, Dirrell got jerked. lol But did that decision surprise anyone given the circumstances, ahem, location?!?

The Ring's 108 lb champion Ivan Caldron says he's, "keeping his fingers crossed", that he'll be fighting his #1 contender Brian Viloria in early 2010. Caldron-Viloria is biggest fight that can be made at, or below the flyweight division. Caldron has been a long time fringe P4P elite, but I think his time is coming soon. 34 is ancient for a flyweight, and a younger, strong puncher like Viloria could be the one to finally take him out. Plus, I don't like how Caldron said, "if I lose, at least it will be to a world champion", when talking about the potential clash. Let's hope HBO, Showtime, or even ESPN for that matter picks this fight up. Because even though its a great matchup, I wouldn't pay to see it on PPV. http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=22878

Do or die: Telesco-Mitchell On October 21 Joe DeGuardia?s Star Boxing returns to the Hilton Rye Town Hotel in Rye Brook, NY, to present its second installment of Rumble at the Rye Town Hilton. Headlining the card once again will be heavy-handed, former world title challenger, David Telesco (30-6-1, 26 KOs) taking on fellow banger and former two-time world champion, Byron Mitchell (27-5-1, 20 KOs). The bout is scheduled for eight rounds in the light heavyweight division. ?This is an intriguing fight between two former contenders and champions who have always been known to produce very entertaining and exciting fights,? stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. ?With both David and Byron, you know exactly what you are going to get. You have two guys who will be stepping in that ring with one purpose in mind, and that?s to knock the other guy out. David is coming off a very impressive victory in his last fight, and Byron?s KO victories are well-known throughout the industry. We are expecting a great showing from both combatants, and an all around great show you won?t want to miss on October 21st.?

I told my wife, if > Glen doesn't get a knock out, he loses. And he lost. > FIXED!!! As I wrote earlier, when an underdog does better than expected. It leads commentators, fans, text pollers, and whoever else to believe he won the fight. When a guy is expected to dominate, and gets in a tough fight, its human nature to believe that he lost. The favorite didn't live up to expectations and the underdog exceeded them. But that still doesn't mean he won the fight.

Bruh, Glen Johnson always has, and always will be a second rate fighter. Late in his journeyman career, he was very fortunate to catch a RJ that no one knew was way over-the-hill. And in turn, he got a shot at what ended up being a very overrated and underprepared Taver, who people thought was a potential ATG when they fought. Also, Johnson wasn't robbed in the first fight with Dawson. Johnson was simply an underdog that fought much better than expected. Its not unusual for observers to feel the underdog won because he did better than they thought he would. Dawson-Johnson I was no different that Mayweather-castillo I or Jones-Tarver I. The underdogs fought better than expected, but they didn't win. Umm, the commentators, the fans, the text poll, all said Johnson was robbed. So why the second fight? Is it because this fight is tainting Chad Dawson career to making that big money fight? Is it because boxing judges have disgraced the sport and tainted its name by forging a victory for Chad Dawson over Glen Johnson? Dude, I have seen enough fights to know when the fix was on.....I called this a fixed fight from the second round when I heard commentators praising Chad's excellent work in the ring when I saw Chad struggling to get to his corner. I told my wife, if Glen doesn't get a knock out, he loses. And he lost. FIXED!!!

Woman Arrested for Facebook 'Poke' By Chelsea-Badeau Wed, 14 Oct 2009 20:51:21 GMT Be careful who you "poke." According to the AP, 36-year-old Shannon Jackson of Hendersonville, Tenn. was arrested for poking Dana Hannah, a woman she was accused of stalking, on the social networking site Facebook. Jackson was under court order not to communicate with the woman she allegedly poked. Just in case you?ve never been poked, the virtual nudge generally acts as a playful hello. ABC News calls it the "digital equivalent of waving at someone from across a crowded room." It?s a harmless, little application, unless of course you happen to have a restraining order and choose to poke the person who filed it. Many Facebook users would agree that poking is annoying, but this may be the first time it?s been considered criminal. The online contact violates a judge?s order "to refrain from telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with [Hannah]." Jackson could face up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine if the judge decides she violated the order. Hannah took a screen grab of the poke message and brought it to the police. Jackson was arrested shortly after that. Considering how many people now use social networking sites, we may see a rise in attempts to sidestep legal orders via online contact. Hopefully, this will be a lesson to all Facebook users to quit poking people (not because it?s criminal, but because it?s annoying).

Tyson, Holyfield to appear together CHICAGO -- Boxing rivals Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are to meet again -- and this time Oprah will referee. Harpo Productions announced Wednesday the two fighters would appear on Friday's live episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from Chicago. On June 28, 1997, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Tyson was disqualified after biting off part of Holyfield's right ear during their WBA heavyweight title fight. Winfrey aired an interview with Tyson on Monday during which he discussed the death of his 4-year-old daughter and talked about his family. Harpo Productions says Tyson will take questions from the audience on Friday.
