You guys are harsh...but that glove ish is terrible...so similar to Hopkins-Trinidad. The older fighter beats up the younger whirlwind. The younger cats had illegal stuff in their gloves which had to be removed. Tito was never the same after the Hopkins thrashing; will Margarito suffer the same fate? With all due respect to Margarito, he's nowhere the fighter that Tito was (but I find the similarities eery). No surprise that Nazeem Richardson (who was also in Hopkins corner) and Hopkins were in the mix this time around (again). -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2009/01/11/sweet-redemption-for-mosley-is-a-distinct-possibility/ -- Edited by jarule2007 at 01/25/2009 2:13 PM PST

Tonights fight was hands down the BEST perfomance of Shane mosleys career! Yes he has beaten other very good fighters like de la hoya, collazo, vargas, etc. But this fight was his best performance given the circumstances. He was a 4 to 1 underdog which is huge. He is going through a divorce, he had the steroid issue, and he switched trainers. Plus he was taking on a huge force in margarito that has never really been hurt let alone even knocked down or even out. I picked mosley to win this fight because I though he benefited alot from watching cotto vs margarito. Plus his experience and decent power and great speed would be a problem for margarito. Margarito will bounce back but its gonna take a while. I think he will have a warm up fight in a couple months and then either face cotto or clottey. no need for a rematch with mosley due to how bad he got beat. This is what margarito gets for trying to take the so called easy way out. He opted not to fight paul williams for $6 million and tokk what he thought to be the easier fight in mosley for only $2 million and now look at him. He got demolished by a 37 year old mosley and now he couldnt have a fight with Paul Williams if he wanted to and especially for even close to the $6 million purse he was originally offered. This loss has done a tremendous amount of damage to margaritos image and career. He is 30 years old and its gonna take a while for him to make it back to the top again especially after that beating. This is what he gets for ducking Paul Williams! what do u guys think will be next for mosley??? i dont see him fighting clottey or cotto again anytime soon. -- Edited by usaf2006 at 01/24/2009 10:56 PM PST

you can't just stand in front of mosley and take his shots like margarito did with cotto. mosley is much better at placing his punches with pin point acuracy and more power. I knew that mosley had a great chance to ko margarito . mosley ko'd mayorga in his last fight and the night of the fight mosley was 160 and mayorga was 175. so I did not think that size was going to be an issue. mosley has fought much bigger guys then margarito. yea mosley did tie him up , but thats what he had to do to slow the pace of the fight. I think the out come would have been the same either way. mosley would of hurt him at some point in the fight any way , holding or not. and mosley is a great finisher to. I think mosley realized he could ko such a stationary target , because he started fighting real hard in the later rounds . I was a little worried because mosley started to brawl a little to much. but now I think mosley must have been thinking , why did this chump ever get into the ring with me . In other words mosley knew something we didn't.

I wonder if Marg takes a re-match against Pwill now? If he wants to prove anything positive, he needs to fight Williams or Clottey. Let's see what the 'breeze' (forget tornado) does.

If I were cotto or cintron I would sue Marg ass and send it back to tijuana with nothing but that stupid hair cut that looked like a rooster crest.

I agree. In my opinion three fighters had resurrections tonight. Mosley, Cotto, and Cintron. Fact is, the only fighter that Cotto and Cintron have lost to is Margarita. And both were blasting him cleanly the way Mosley did, got hit with a few punches, and eventually wilted. Margarita didn't do anything legally that devestating for either of those guys to submit the way they did. With tonight's findings, that definitely brings those fights into question. Investigation is in order!!!

I picked Margarito to win, figured Shane had a VERY good chance, but damn, he OWNED him...made him look like a newborn baby fighting an adult. All of those Margarito backers need to hush-hush, i.e. with the hand-wrap controversy...a VERY VERY VERY bad night for Top Rank. Shane just saved Golden Boy for the time being. lol Where was Oscar tonight? -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2009/01/11/sweet-redemption-for-mosley-is-a-distinct-possibility/

We always hear the so-called experts say that Margarito gets stronger as the fight goes on. The truth being that the substance in his handwraps got harder as the fight goes on. I think he should be fined and suspended.

I remember the claims of margarito being in so kind of substance when he fought cotto. Those claims were disproved because they looked for the wrong cheat. It was incredible how Marg. changed that fight with only a couple of shots. Same thing with Cintron, who got K.O. by no more than two punches.

He's a disgrace to the sport and shouldn't waste us fans' time.

> Yo Hit, I see ya boy (Knockdup12)doesn't have much to > say tonight. He and his band of Marglovers are MIA. > If their God would have won, they would have rallied > harder than an Obama campaign!!! LOL Well, he came with his predictable black fighters get all the breaks. Typical rasict garbage. As a black man I can tell ya, black people hardly recieve preferential treatment in this country. Fact is, knockits doesn't know sh*t about boxing. He simply hates black people, and an arrogant rich black man like Mayweather really hit a nerve in him. Therefore, he's jumped on every fighter's bandwagon that he thought had a chance to beat him. He'll disappear for awhile like the coward he is and he'll reappear when Pacquaio KOs Hatton screaming about Mayweather is ducking Pac. He's so predictable is pathetic.
