We've all had dream match ups that never happened. What were the biggest fights that you dreamed about that just never came together?

the fight that i wanted that didnt happen was chavez-starling. when chavez was the man at 140 having beaten mayweather and taylor, starling was the man at 147 having beaten breland, simon brown and lloyd honeyghan. starling was only at most a couple inches taller than chavez so it wouldnt have been one of those davey and goliath kinda matches like it woulda been if chavez had fought breland. we all should know chavez style at 140 how he steadily pressured, never backing away while torturing his opponents body. starling could really do it all very well including standing right in front of wrecking machine like honeyghan while picking him to pieces. imo starling woulda won on points in a scintillating war something like a welter version of toney-jirov. both woulda made good maybe even ppv money. instead starling fought almost an entire fight with one eyelid almost sliced off and pouring blood profusely eventually losing to the ordinary maurice blocker on points. the fight was televised on free abc so marlon probably hardly made expense money for that disaster . starling was a single father and really coulda used a chavez money match and why wouldn't chavez wanna go after yet another belt. yeah i think that woulda been a great one for so many reasons.

At the time when they could have fought, I think Mike's skills were so degraded that Jones would have just picked at him and outpointed him.

Arguello would be the ultimate test of the Chavez chin. If Arguello went to war it would be fun but I think Alexis Arguello would beat out Chavez at lightweight not sure about super lightweight. Aaron Pryor would rock with him but Chavez in his prime had alot of guts and heart but would've been laid to rest in the 10th round. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

Arguello would have outboxed Chavez easy. Benn would be a no show against Jones. No contest.

> jones/benn or arguello/chavez at jr lightweight At 168 Jones, Jr. was damn-near invincible. He would stopped Benn by about round 6. Arguello would have defeated Chavez, maybe even by late KO...he was a bad mofo...but at 140, it woulda been a toss-up. -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2008/09/22/shane-mosley-will-pick-apart-ricardo-mayorga/

I didn't think that was serious. Mike would have Knocked Jones 50 years into the past. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide

I think a prime RJJ would pick Tyson apart. Not a prime Tyson. Tyson would be too big and powerful for RJJ.

After watching some Tito fights this morning I must say that Tito would Doom Margarito in his prime. He was too strong and his left hooks and Hammering rights where 2 quick. Only time Tito was inactive was when he could find openings. Margarito leaves massive openings. It would be a fire fight but if Santos rocks Margarito then Tito Knocks him down and stops him. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide
