Who impressed you more this past weekend Williams or Arreola?

I enjoyed both fights, before this fight I didn't think much of Arreola but he grew on me a bit, I liked his guts, the way he handled being knocked down and his post fight was a riot. Williams showed me how professional he was with his poise after being cut early on, I like both fighters and thankfully we didn't see that horrible mohawk on him!

fighters earn a living right? that's why they fight right?

i mean when they don't earn a living and are expected to fight....it's like a Michael Vick situation.

His trainer can only tell him what's best for him. It's still up to the fighter to get motivated to deliver.

Makes one wonder what the hell his trainer is doing (or NOT doing) for him???!!!

In more ways than one. He needs to cut back on the snacks and use some of his amateur training rather than get in a brawl.

His major weakness seems to be his lack of wind but maybe he can come in a few pounds lighter and not huff 'n puff so much.

Translation: Arreola is a rolly-polly.

I agree Capt that Arreola has shown at times his technical skills (throws good combinations when he wants). He has a lot of potential but must be more disciplined.

Areolla's probably better (technically) than he's been showing...he fights aggressively so therefore takes some unnecessary risks.I favor Klitschko over him but Arreola is a respectable challenger if for his power punching alone. His major weakness seems to be his lack of wind but maybe he can come in a few pounds lighter and not huff 'n puff so much.

Arreola is not on both of the Klits level yet; he'll get KO'd before it hits the late rounds by both Klits.

I dunno about Williams being the most feared man......... I still have that title for Glen Johnson at this moment.

Arreola can beat Lil' Klit by getting in shape and working the guy on the inside. Klit will tire out and Chris can take him out late.

Klitschko to face Arreola?

By Alexey Potapov

IBF/IBO/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (52-3, 46 KOs) may face unbeaten IBF #2 rated Chris Arreola (26-0, 23 KOs) in his next bout in April or May. Fightnews.com has learned that talks are underway and the fight would most likely take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. If victorious, the Ukrainian champion is then obliged to fight against IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (16-0, 12 KOs) by September 13th.

I agree with you, looking at Areolla's last fight he isn't ready for a 12 rounder like Povetkin, but on the same note if he expects to make it to the top then he needs to get ready. He's lucky he wasn't around when Lennox was champ because there were true HeavyWeights then. Right now there really isn't any competition. If he would've tried to pull that out of weight stuff back then he would'nt be undefeated. During Lewis's reign you had Moorer, The real Holyfield, Tyson was still lingering, Tua, Bowe, Grant, Tucker, Bruno, Mercer, McCall, Golota, Botha, a in shape James (Lights Out) Toney just to name a few. They weren't all great but they would make you pay if you came in the ring half stepping like Areolla did. Man I miss the HW division!!!

Alexander Povetkin is a big guy who has
gone 12 rounds. I haven't seen him but
that looks both risky and a good step up.

Arreola is not ready for a 12 rounder if I
were making the call in his behalf.....I'd
say six months of roadwork for Mr Arreola
and then we'd shop around for a challenging
opponent like Alexander Povetkin.

But you'll notice he said to the camera "one
more baby".
Maybe that's his wife and he wants to cash
himself in. A loss to Povetkin wouldn't cash
out so good.

Arreola is a promising young prospect. Keyword here is PROSPECT!!! i dont wanna here any morons on here talking about how he is ready to take on elite competition. He has a long way to go. This guy just goes in the ring looking for a knockout. either one of the klitchko brothers would jab the hell out of him until he either was out cold or quit in the corner. i dont even think arreola is ready for a guy like a david haye. I would like to see him go up against another good young prospect. but not someone who is gonna just go in the ring swinging. i would like to see him fight a technical fighter with some skill and see how ready he really is for the big time. maybe he should fight someone like ALEXANDER POVETKIN! i would love to see that fight. both r promising but i think povetkin is gonna pose alot of problems for arreola. wut do u all think?

The belly is only an indication but the shortness
of breath is proof.

Just a thought...come to think of it...even Butterbean looked better in the ring back in the days (belly and all) compared to Arreola...Lol!

And he has a looong way to go to get in shape
for even ten round fights. This is just not the
amateurs any longer and he hasn't even started
working on the kind of endurance that he'll need.

The belly is only an indication but the shortness
of breath is proof.
