What kind of workout should you do to build the right muscles for boxing?

Some gyms don't have heavy bags, or speed bags, or anything that you can really do that is boxing related. You have treadmills and other cardio machines but what type of exercises should one do to get into the right shape for boxing?

thanks bongy, i'm serious too. my right forearm is killer but my left is skinny. i try to remember to mix it up but most of the time i just sit back and enjoy it. mags makes a great point about the sledgehammer, it works. i think pavlik and jmm incorporate the sledge in their workouts. its exhausting.

you kidz sho fk me up.
but you did also remind me of something- i was a day laborer back in the day and years later an old trainer told me that the hours i'd spent swinging a sledge hammer and shoveling had built my strength for boxing. i dont know how true it was but i did ask him how he know i'd done that hammering and shoveling and he said that he'd been watching me train and it was obvious. so there's two other things you can do that might help in training but of course be careful and dont break up pavement unless it needs to be broken up.

hahaha, i agree...but don't forget the back hand motion. if done correctly, you would pack a mighty punch.

Mackie Shilstone is the best conditoner fior fighters there is. Look what he did for Roy Jones for Ruiz. Anyways, anything that builds up the shoulders, push ups, burn out on the heavy bag, roadwork for the legs, I use 3pd hand weights to build up the shoulders and hand speed

Yes, He is one of them for sure.

Also I forget his name all the time? But he trained Edward Norton for American History X. And he also trains the Rock as well. When the Rock went off roids he slimmed down but managed to keep most of the muscle thanks to this guy?

EEEggggghhhhh......Its killing me??????? I'll post later with his name.

Who wants to see Oscar and Manny?
Does anyone really want to see Delahoya bully another small guy? I guess his farewell tour is going to be low risk. Steve Forbes, Manny Pacquia, who's next? This fight is bad for boxing.
