Do you think a Pacquiao loss will hurt boxing? I was just thinking that it would probably be a negative in the sport. If you look at how much attention his fight against De La Hoya and Hatton brought and how Pacquiao is looked at as the P4P best right now. A loss to Cotto might derail the momentum created in the sport. I could be wrong but I'd like to know what the board thinks.

People act like a loss is the end of the world. If you lose you lose. A loss for Pacquiao wouldnt hurt boxing. It could actually make it more interesting. The only reason Tarver is really significant in boxing was because he was the 1st to beat Roy Jones. If Roy would of disposed of him easy like everyone else, Tarver would be a nobody but Roy losing paved the way for him. A fight with Pacquiao and Cotto is a win win for the sport and if Cotto happens to win it could mean more support for him and the sport.

Tha Pacman vs Mayweather fight would be fought at 147 if it happens. I thought the Pacman vs Cotto fight should be fought at that weight but it is a catch weight of 145 lbs. I still think Cotto wins the fight. I think the size and power difference will be evident in this fight. I think Cotto will actually get to Pac's body and in the later rounds that will give pac a lot of problems. i dont want to burst any one's bubble but Cotto is going to fight Mayweather next because he will win the fight against pac. If the fight was at a lighter weight pac would win because Cotto would have to drain himself to make the weight.

People do not be surprised at all if Manny ends up just knocking the crap out of COtto.. Cotto has not shown me much defense and if Manny can take Cottos punch, Cotto could be in a world of shit. i dont think Cotto is near the puncher at 147 everyone makes him out to be.. He hit margarito with every thing but the kitchen sink with 0 effect, Shane knocked out margarito with a few good shots... Yes Margarito stuffed his gloves with plaster but his chin in both fights was the same chin.... I am routing for Cotto because I want COtto to fight FLoyd,,, cause I think Floyd will then whoop COtto..

Floyd is a different type of beast than anyone else, because of the skill and defense level.[/Floyd is a beast? Are you out of your mind? Tarantadome: Read it again. That is why I said a different type of beast. I knew someone would try and pick that word to scrutinize. Perhaps I should have worded better for you to understand.. A defensive beast.. that make you more happy.. a speed beast??? A ring technician beast?? He dominated..and not because of the weight... I didnt say he was a beast in the ring I said he was a different type of beast.... Gotcha doug. understood your point. thanx for clarifying it well.

Mosley, or > even Mayweather, is probably easier than fighting a > fully healthy and much hungrier Timothy Bradley. Lets get this straight. Fighting Floyd is not easier than fighting anyone else. Did you not see how he totally outclassed Marquez. Forget about the 2 pounds, the difference in skill and speed was enormous. Know this for damn sure, getting in the ring with Floyd is a different type of beast than anyone else, because of the skill and defense level. Marquez, a veteran of what 60 fights or so, was totally befuddled on how to hit Floyd with anything substancial. That is not because of 2lbs of weight, that is because of great ring technicianship and defensive prowess. Manny has never, ever seen anything like that and may end up just as befuddled as Marquez. He may end up watching all of his punches catch air and Floyds arms and elbows and then get countered to pieces... You never really know how good you are until you face the best,, and FLoyd is the best. Manny is a greatly exciting fighter but not nearly as skilled as Floyd. "BEAST"? Floyd, Jr. is a beast? Are you out of your mind? The way Mayweather, Jr. showed in his last fight (that is with Marquez, of course), he wasn't a beast. He was and still the best DEFENSIVE ring artist in the world of boxing you've ever seen. He showed his skill as the best defensive boxer in this era. He fought Marquez the best way he could, hitting him without getting hit. That's the kinda boxing lesson Marquez should learn from a defensive wiz like Floyd, Jr. Being a BEAST in the ring means you have that "killer instinct" where you could put away an opponent in a fast and brutal manner like what Manny did to Ricky Hatton. Its so happen that Marquez have a decent defense that Floyd, Jr. and Pacquiao couldn't put him away like that. -- Edited by tarantadome at 09/26/2009 3:00 PM PDT

What do you guys think ? > > 147 Yup. It's too bad Cotto doesn't have any leverage with Manny-I mean Freddie. I want Cotto to be at his best. Hopefully he'll use his "low-blow" teqnique to give Manny something to think about LOL. Someone needs to deflate Freddie and Paqs big heads and I would prefer it before Floyd does it. Then we could see Cotto vs Floyd (Maybe)

Honestly, I don't think Pac gives a sh*t what weight the fights are fought. Its his little funny looking trainer that's responsible for all this bullsh*t. Pac went from flyweight to 122, to featherweight, to 130, to lightweight and never did it with a catchweight. Th only thing that happen is Mayweather retired and left de la Hoya without a dance partner at the end of 2008. Freddie "The Joke Coach" Roach saw the de la Hoya-Forbes fight and knew de la Hoya was done. He then tricked the desperate de la Hoya in to fighting Pac at a 147 catchweight. When he saw what easy work fighting dehydrated fighters was, he felt like a genius. Now, its become his staple. He knows that fighting a dehydrated Cotto, Mosley, or even Mayweather, is probably easier than fighting a fully healthy and much hungrier Timothy Bradley. You'll make more money. And everyone will think you're the best ever when you beat the dehydrated fighters.
