I dont think any body under 168 is gonna knock out Tito and lets remember how taylor caught pavlik out there.Tito is a finisher.Thats why larry merchant said.........."AND HE CLOSES THE SHOW,LIKE THE CHAMPION HE IS"...

i love tito too!!!!! but to be honest,if he isnt willing to go down to 160 to fight in a good division that he would be able to dominate(without papa trinidad training him)and be competitive in then he should retire.
yeah he was decent against roy jones but roy is just a shell of what he once was.
tito looked soooo sloppy at the weigh in against jones that i beleive he either isnt getting trained properly or isnt listening and following rules while training!!!!!!!!!!!

but i got mad love for him for his heart and his hall of fame career!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tito is well off and the money is with floyd and delahoya and maybe even cotto and margarito.
he can easily make 60 million in those 4 fight.

what 4 fights in the higher weights can he do that?
Take floyd and DLH. 40 mil for sure. what 2 guys over 160 will make him that much money.

tito must not be lacking money if he can't control his appetite and go get that. Shit, i'll get down to 154 and I am 5-10 and haven't been below 170 in nearly 30 yrs.

Quite the contrary actually. It is Trinidad who needs to go to 160 where the $$$$ and Pavlik already is. One look at his midsection from his fight with Roy Jones and no one can tell me he can't afford to lose another 10lb.

Kelly Pavlik needs to go where the $$$ is, and fight Tito Trinidad, at 160, for all the marbles.

he never really relied ion mobility. he slipped and blocked punches and took the fight to you,
he moves in one direction: forward with some side to side movement.

I dont think it was Jones's loss of love for boxing that got him knocked out it was coming down from over 200 back to 175 in too short of a time that did it. I hope he fights at 168 from now on if he chooses to continue which he should probably not be he will anyways.

That's the first time I've heard Roy described as a pioneer.

If Tito can't fight at middleweight, he is practically done as getting down to 154 or lighter would seem impractical for a fighter who hasn't fought at those limits in years.

His power even at 170 wasn't the problem. He hit Jones' guard with some thudding shots and got in some nasty body shots. Even at 170 he got power in those hands.

After watching the fight for the third time now on HBO, Trinidad's trouble is he can't take power of the higher weight fighters. The only time he moved forward in the latter rounds was when Jones choice to move backward. He never stood his ground and went into full defense mode anytime Jones decided to throw in numbers. He literally gave up trying to exchange punches, as he looked really shook everytime Jones landed something flush.

At 154 and below, he won't run up against many who has power like a 175 pounders. But as he moves down the faster the handspeed becomes and if he trouble with Jones' handspeed is more than just rust, Trinidad is going to have trouble.

Power doesn't ebb as fast as speed, but boxers dependent on power often don't last as long as boxers dependent on speed especially in the last 20 years. Power punchers often take more wear and tear over the years. Fighters dependent on speed often tend to be defensive and technical in nature and tend to take less punches.

Fighters tend to slow down regardless of their style so power punchers with average speed often become sitting ducks while speed based fighters can take their years of experience and adjust to their loss of speed, which becomes average well before it become turtle like.
