I've always been a big fan of Bernard. He's not the most exciting fighter but what he does possess is the ability to take the other fighter completely out of his game. I think he relies too much on the judges and could've beat Taylor with a little more effort. His fights with Tarver and Pavlik show that he is still a legitimate force even at his age.

Can't > get a pick right to save their life-always going 4 > the favorite. Some people let there personal feelings affect how they see certain fighters' careers. I picked B-Hop to get KO'd, but I understand that that was a masterpiece he put on against Pavlik. I with you on you can't call a guy a world-beater, then when he loses make excuses as to why he lost. If Pavlik was a world-beater before the B-Hop fight, now he has to be considered a world-beater who got his ass whipped by a superior fighter. But you know as much as anybody that some of these guys discuss boxing more with their hearts and personal feelings more than they do with what they see actually happend in the ring. CASE CLOSED UNDERSTOOD!!!

Prior to the fight kats were talking alot of smack saying how B-Hop was going to get knocked out-the same shit they said before he fought Tito. Hopkins comes thru and the so called boxing experts have to resort to saying these guys were blown up. This is the same excuse they would've used 4 Pacman-but the judges said he won so it is what it is. Anyway, 4 a guy that most said didn't have a chance before the fight it's really sad to see them making excuses. Like I said half of these guys know everything there is to know about boxing prior to the fight-after the fight their making excuses. Can't get a pick right to save their life-always going 4 the favorite.

> YAH DIDNT JERMAIN BEAT HOPKINS NOT ONCE BUT > TWICE....LIKE I SAID EARLIER PAVLIK WAS A BLOWN UP > MIDDLEWEIGHT...AS DELAHOYA AND TRINIDAD WERE BLOWN UP > WELTERS WHEN THEY FOUGHT HOPKINS...CASE CLOSED!!!!! Son-Son I know your not hatin' on B-Hop for his victory over Pavlik. That may have been B-Hop's finest performance. I'll give you Tito and de la Hoya. Because i blasted B-Hop for years for his biggest wins being against blown-up welterweights. But, he ended all that talk with his performance against Tarver. Let's not make it look like B-Hop is a huge light heavyweight or something. He is just as much a blown-up middleweight as Pavlik was. And the fact that they fought at a 170 lb catchweight and B-Hop had to shed a few extra lbs takes that excuse away from Pavlik. B-Hop is the man, and one of the best to ever do it. Deal with it. CASE CLOSED, UNDERSTOOD!!! -- Edited by hitking60 at 11/15/2008 11:09 AM PST

Taylor's got pretty fast hands. He don't have the ring savvy that Bernard does tho. That was the difference. Hopkins ring experience kept Kelly guessing what was coming up next and he couldn't get off. And another thing... I know this one is way off topic but what do the most you think of Freddie Roach as a trainer? And if anyone would like to list their favorite trainers that would be cool as well.

Despite what happened back in 93 I don't see how Roy would have much of a chance of beating Hopkins at this point in time. While they both lost to Calzaghe, Hopkins is much sharper and quite frankly seems to be the better fighter. Joe was more active than B-hop and won a decision in a fight that I personally saw B-hop winning the first half of. Joe's face looked worse than Bernard's afterwards. Not that that changes the fact that Joe won but it still means something in terms of considering possible future matchups. Roy on the other hand was destroyed. It could have been worse but it definitely was not good. Don't see Roy fighting any really good fighters at 168-175 and especially not Hopkins.

Pavlick hadn't seen the likes of a fast handed fighter before! Taylor's got pretty fast hands. He don't have the ring savvy that Bernard does tho. That was the difference. Hopkins ring experience kept Kelly guessing what was coming up next and he couldn't get off.

As far as Jones-Joe? Does anyone out their see a KO either way? I don't. Joe doesn't hit hard enough,Roy really isn't all that interested in the KO,never has been. Even at this stage, Roy still has the speed and skills to beat anyone that can't seriously hurt him. And even though Joe found his ass against Hopkins, it's not as though he has a glass jaw. That was a timing shot more than anything. Tactical match-up all the way. Based on styles and strengths, I'm picking Jones in this one. Hopefully we will get to see a way overdue Jones-Hopkins 2. And after Dawson's performance against Tarver? He should have a stake in the senior tour tourney winner. Though if Jones beats Joe and Hopkins, which I believe he would, don't think he'll want much to do with Dawson and call it good. Hopkins or Joe, one or the other would be game for Dawson and both have a shot.

Pavlik's 'express train' was derailed. BHops was on point during this fight! 'Nuff said.

I think common sense says Joe will win but I will be routing for Jones. I agree that Jones needs to hurt Joe, but I dont agree that Joe will pick apart Jones from the outside. No way that will happen. Jones too quick for that. JOnes will be a different type of competition than Joe has ever seen. Joe has never fought someone with the speed of Roy even at this older age. Joe will have to be very busy and effective at being busy cause I also think Roy is probably the hardest hitter Joe has ever faced as well. Jones doesn't need to KO Calzaghe and I don't think he will. All Jones needs to do is the same thing he's done before that made him great. Outspeed Calzaghe. Joe can't win a fight from the outside. Roy stays off the ropes and keeps the fight in the middle of the ring. If he can do that he can pull it off. I hope Jones legs aint gone and he can pull it off.

Jones hits hard but at his age I don't know if he hits as hard as a young Kessler. -- "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe." ~Andre Gide
