Shane Mosley -- Who Should He Fight Next?

At the Wright-Williams weigh-in Sugar Shane said he wants to fight the winner of Pacquiao-Hatton. What do you think? Who should Mosley fight next?

Because he' turning 38, he should go for the money fights now. Call out Mayweather, then Cotto, then Pacquiao. With these 3 fights, win or lose, he could secure himself a nice retirement package.

that is not a bad scenario, but pacman gave up his LW title to fight ODLH and hatton. if he wins he may fight cotto or FM or mosley.

That is why JMM called out FM. and if they fight its ok, but it will not change the fact that FM didn't fight the WW's. And FM should come down to 135 and fight JMM at his best not blown up at LWW while FM is in pristine physical condition.

The fight is much fairer for the viewers and the fighters at 135 which is the weight that JMM just arrived at no less than a yr ago, than at LWW which is where FM has basically fought that last about 4 yrs.

the jury is still out on pacman foer the same reason.

That's what's gonna happend. Mosley doesn't have a major dance partner this summer.

If Marquez gets KO'd by Mosley, who cares? He lost to an elite fighter two divisions above where he fights. It would have no bearing on Pacquaio-Marquez III. But, I'll agree with you to a degree. If Marquez were to beat Mosley, his win over Margarito will be seen as him beating an overrated fighter and he will probaly be done as an elite fighter.

If Mayweather comes back, he's fighting a tune up fight first. That leaves Mosley outta the mix. The Pacquaio-Hatton winner will not fight again till the end of the year, same for the Cotto-Clottey winner. The only chance he has for a big summer fight is if Williams wins tonight, and Mosley has made it clear he wants no part of Williams. In my mind, that only leaves Marquez. Mosley doesn't have any other options for a big fight this summer. And the biggest fights that will be available to Marquez are Valero, Bradley, or Campbell, none of which would be as big as the superfight with Mosley. Marquez has already said he would go up to welterweight, why not make Mosley-Marquez happend? What else are they going to do?

yep. that sounds good.

mosley has a lot of options. I think they are all good.

Pacman/hatton
cotto/clottey
PW/winky

he stands to make big money, or make no money cause if the cash cow in each of the 3 fights loses, mosley is effed.

Winky is the only guy that can bring some money besides pw. cotto, pacman, and they did that twice already. I am sure Mosley doesn't want to do it again. And Mosley already said he isn't in a rush to fight PW: it may be true or it may be prefight psych out work on his part. Mosley already saw what happens when PW becomes ful of himself versus quintana.

hatton /mosley is not a big draw, in my opinion, except in the UK. A win over pacman, no matter how resounding, doesn't tell me he can handle mosley.

Mosley/Marquez make no sense to me because all it would do is send the loser into retirement.Mosley's next opponent is based solely on Mayweather's return and if Floyd does return why not give the fans a fight that's been in the making for 3 years MOSLEY/MAYWEATHER

Why do we need to unify a bunch of meaningless belts when Cotto-Mosley II would crown the first The Ring welterweight champion since Mayweather vacated the title. The Ring's system isn't perfect, but its the only belt that matters. That being said, I would love to see Mosley get the Pacquaio-Hatton winner, that's if Mayweather doesnt comeback. If Mayweather comes back, and Pacquaio beats Hatton, it has to be Mayweather-Pacquaio this fall/winter. As for Mosley, since he doesn't have a major dance partner this summer, why not Marquez or Williams if he wins tonight.

Well, my Mosley-Marquez proposal was shot down hard on this forum. In a perfect world, it would be Cotto-Mosley II in June instead of Cotto-Clottey. But, since its not going to happend, why harp on it. Personally, I don't see a major dance partner out there for Mosley this summer. Cotto is fighting Clottey, Pacquaio is fighting Hatton, and we don't know if Mayweather is fighting or not. That's why I think Mosley-Marquez would be a natural if both want a superfight. The only big name I can think of for Mosley is Paul Williams, if Williams wins tonight. I would hate to see Mosley fight some lameass mandatory, or not at all this summer on the heels of his career saving win over Margarito. But the way it looks, that's exactly what's going to happend.

Do you think Pacquiao is on steroids?
Watching Pacquiao carry his power to the higher weight classes has me wondering is he is juicing. Being a personal trainer I know that it is very difficult to move up in weight and stay ripped. The Phillipines and Indosia are two of the biggest markets for steroids.
