Sometimes we hear post fight or pre fight interviews that make you cringe. Who impresses you the most with the way they conduct themselves during interviews or the way they speak in general?

I'm surprised that no one is mentioning guys like Sean O'Grady and Bobby Czyz who made their livings as Sports announcers afterwards. Other notables. Kevin Kelly, Raul Marquez, Ray Mancini. I listened to both Shannon Briggs and Nate Campbell on Friday Night Fights and both were impartial and presented good solid points. Of course Shannon was quick to proclaim that he was soon to be HW Champ again which led me to question his mental stability but other than that he still offered up some good commentary.

I'd have to say it's Tarver. Not sure how he'd call a fight, but he's pretty good with words. Speaking of words, peep these hilarious comments from Nate Campbell in a Doghouseboxing.com article. On Joan Guzman... "Guzman doesn?t know what is going to happen to him. He has no idea where I'm taking him on Sept. 13th. I love it when they feed me these guys with these big fat shiny "0's" in their records (Guzman is 28-0). Everyone thinks they are Gods because they are undefeated. All being undefeated means is that you haven't fought anybody yet, or you?ve never had to deal with any adversity in or out of the ring. ?I'm collecting all these "0's", and changing them to "Nate's". Kid Diamond is 26 and Nate. Juan Diaz is 33 and Nate. And on Sept 13, Joan Guzman will be 28 and Nate. I fought too long and too hard to let anyone take these titles from me, especially Guzman. He just doesn?t know what he is in for." -- http://www.fightinsight.com/2008/08/13/does-anyone-care-about-us-olympic-boxing/

I always liked O'Grady better as a commentator than as a fighter. My only regret is that I never wrote him and asked him how it felt to have featherweight Danny "Lil Red" Lopez down three times in their fight and then get KTFOd ! I think Malignaggi might make a commentator someday for the same reasons that I think Tarver would. I like Lewis as a commentator, btw. I'm easy to please as long as I get some insight from somebody who has it. -- Edited by JimEarl at 08/20/2008 7:12 PM PDT

I like Joe Mesi as a commentator. He is an articulate speaker and has insightful opinions.

Tarver is a somewhat gifted speaker and commentator. Sean O'Grady was fair as well, but a bit too smarmy and punny at times for the taste of most.

> well spoken?? > > Mike Tyson... > > Just kidding...I'd say is probably Lennox Lewis. OMFG Lewis has to be one of the biggest stuttering, stammering and blithering boors in the history of televised boxing commentary. He's improved but now it seems that he's attempting to force improvisation, as if he's being coached, while hardly being insightful or informative. I really do wish Roy Jones or Sugar Ray Leonard would return to HBO.

Mike Tyson sounded like Sir Lawrence Olivier compared to Leon Spinks.

You have got to give this title to Mr Antonio Tarver. He is by far the most articulate, he cracks me up. Aside from Ali, he has got to be the best. Matter of fact he talks better than he fights."Had to do my homework, had to go to school, and we passed the test with flying colors." -- THE GREATEST MUSCLE IS PRAYER

I think it's cool to hear Johnson speak because of the accent, it stands out, it makes you want to listen to it, because when you look at the guy, you don't really expect to hear the words come out sounding like that lol.
