Many fans are wanting to see this matchup, but Ricky's former manager thinks Hatton should retire, and it'd be bad for boxing if they fought. What do you think?

WW is any weight more than 140 and up to the limit of 147. The Pacquiao/Cotto fight is officially a WW fight. No one is being forced to fight Pacquiao, they can take it or leave it. Everyone is begging to fight Pacquiao. Instead of Pacquiao, Cotto could choose to fight Williams, Margo, Shane, etc. They all wanted to fight him. Pacquiao is the current hottest supermodel on the planet, if Regular Joe wants a date, guess what? They must do what the supermodel want because she can date anyone she want. Many are in line and waiting for a date. That's just how things are. * * * -- Fraud "Zero Ticket Sales" Mayweather. Rib Injury? Yeah sure they should fight, why not. Anyway, I hate the fact that everyone is suppose to bend over backwards 4 Manny Pacquaio just cause he's hot right now. The guy wants to make history, he wants to win the Welter Weight title then the fight should be @ 147 the W/W limit. Pacman & Freddie may have all these brain wash bandwagon fans blind as hell but not me. I just don't see all the hype-I'm hoping the hype gets him knocked out on Nov 14. It's not that Manny's so good-it's just he's fighting the right guys-I remember fans sayn Floyd didn't fight the best @ 140 and 147 but look @ Manny. I do give him alot of props for fighting Cotto but hey-if you want the W/W title-then make the fight for 147-Pac can weigh in lighter and come in lighter on fight night but why all these-we have to use these gloves-the ring needs to be this size and we're only fighting here bullshit. Freddie is suppose to be old school so I don't understand him 1 bit-my bad I do-$$ make the world go round right

Ricky Hatton is going to lose his next fight against a top flight fighter. As a long time fan of his, I wish he would retire. But, if he's going to continue fighting, he needs to get one more big payday and get out. If I'm apart of Team Hatton, I'm taking a gimmie in his home arena. Then, I'm fighting the loser of either the Mayweather-Marquez or Pacquaio-Cotto fights early next year, probably in his home arena again. Because quite frankly, he's just as likely to lose to Khan as he is to Mayweather, Pacquaio, Marquez, Mosley, or Cotto.

I personally don't want to see this fight happend. Hatton is done, and still a big name. And I'm not completely sold on Khan. You have Bradley who is making a name for himself, and if someone is gonna take the next step by stopping a shot Hatton, I'd rather it be Bradley than Khan. Personally, I'd rather see Hatton-Bradley with Khan-Alexander as a co-feature.

I personally would like to see ricky hatton retire. I think a match with amir khan is very unlikely and is a lose/lose situation for british fans. they r either gonna see their beloved ricky hatton take another unnecessary beating or get to see one of their rising stars career setback from a loss. not a very smart fight for either fighter

July 26, 2009 REST IN PEACE VERNON FORREST By G. Leon It is with great regret that Boxingtalk reports that one of our closest friends, two-division champion Vernon "The Viper" Forrest, was murdered in Atlanta, Georgia at approximately 11PM last night. Other than the information already reported by various news outlets, Boxingtalk understands that one of the suspects may have grabbed Forrest's wallet and ran while he was putting air in his tires. An armed Forrest allegedly chased off the suspect, who ran into the woods, at which point Forrest gave up the chase, likely because he was with his girlfriends child. Seconds later the gunman resurfaced, shot Forrest in the back once and fired several more shots from point blank range. Boxingtalk would like to send our deepest condolences to the entire Forrest family during this time of tragedy. Forrest was a two time welterweight champion and two time junior middleweight champion. He made his mark in January 2002 by defeating a then undefeated Sugar Shane Mosley at Madison Square Garden. Forrest would defeat Mosley again that year, en route to winning fighter of the year honors.

I would recommend that Hatton retire, but if not, he should let Junior Witter and Amir Khan engage in battle first, then should he choose to carry on, fight the winner for the British title, because that's the only importance that fight carries at the moment really because the WBA title is worthless. -- Stay Thirsty My Friends! -- Edited by tszyunami at 07/26/2009 9:11 AM PDT

We are sad to report that former world champion Vernon Forrest was tragically and senselessly murdered at about 11PM on Saturday night in Atlanta during an attempted carjacking. Reportedly Forrest had stopped at a gas station to put air in the tire of his late model Jaguar when two thugs attempted to take his vehicle. Forrest had a firearm and a chased away his assailants but according to Atlanta police, in an ensuing firefight Forrest was shot eight times with semi-automatic weapons.

If thats the case then Ricky should make a comeback fight against Cotto. I'd love to see fat lil Ricky get pounded into submission by a REAL fighter.

ricky has paid his dues in boxing, he only lost to the best 2 fighters in the world, and people say he is a chump, wtf???. as for this matchup, i would love to see it, i think it show how good khan really is. but on the other hand ricky still has a lot high profile fights he could take, i think he should fight marquez. just because ricky got koed dosnt mean he his finished what the hell is wrong with people plenty of champions have gotten koed and came back, for example. klitschko, lennox lewis, hell even rocky balboa, anyway if the fight happens, ricky wins he will put to much pressure on khan, but it will be a close fight. i see it as a career defining moment for khan. if loses to ricky, he should have nothing to be ashamed of cause he lost to a true champion

Ricky and Frank Warren do not like each other ... so this will take some time That said, the match will happen because it would be the biggest British fight since Lewis-Bruno ... it might not be Lewis-Bruno or Benn-McLennan sized, but it'd be in that ballpark. I expect both of them to continue to fight others for another year maybe (especially to build Ricky up again) ... then this happens -- Cruiserweights - what the heavyweight division would be if the heavyweight division didn't really really really suck. -- Edited by sk7326 at 07/22/2009 7:25 AM PDT
