Do you think Pavlik will retire? Do you see Williams going back down to welterweight? If so what do you think of a Williams Mosley fight? The problem is that Williams had a tough time getting people to fight him so he moved up 3 classes to fight Pavlik, and Pavlik pulled out twice. There are so many crazy aspects to this, I'd like to know your feelings on this.

i think martinez has a good shot at beating williams. williams best asset is his volume punching, but that only works great against stationary targets like winky wright and plodders like pavlik. martinez has too good of foot movement and williams will be spending more time trying to get to him then letting his hand fly. i see paul doing alot of measuring while sergio is dancing and waiting for chances t punch. im personally getting hella tired of paul and his camp bitching saying "everyones duckin me, or some guys just dont wanna fight people im not like that" everytime their infront of a camera. we get it man a few guys didnt take the chance to fight you get over it. i might be sounding like a dick and i dont wanna disrespect paul cause i admire all pro fighters but thats just how i feel. what id like to see is cotto take on paul. cause i think miguels body punching will do some damage and paul itd be fun

hey luke, it's kinda like talking about Floyd and saying really Williams. Williams is tryn 2 get a shot and so are alot of others. Williams is saying he's being ducked-I mean the average boxing fan can recognize with Allen Green-the fight doesn't do as much vs a Mosely but hey it's a fight that fans would want to see. That's why I hate when these guys are talkn bout their being ducked-when what they should say is boxing super stars wont fight me. He doesn't want to fight Allen Green because he's a bigger name & feels he doesn't need Green-so why the hell should Mosely, Pacman, Cotto or Floyd fight his tall lanky ass. Green is a big risk low reward to Williams and Williams is a big risk low reward for Mosely, Pacman, Cotto and Floyd. I don't think Williams will easily beat Martinez-Martinez has 2 much skill for a guy like Williams 2 beat him easy

Dito!!! I agree with all you have said about Paul Williams, although I have not really seen Martinez fights that much. I am really disapointed that the Pavlik vs Williams fight didn't happen. I purchased tickets and made air and hotel arrangements as well. What exactly is Pavlik's issues? Can you or someone brake it down for me? -- Edited by moerobd at 10/28/2009 8:02 AM PDT

mannmann you made some good points but really Green? I actually do like Allan Green but Williams moving up to fight a guy who really isnt getting that much respect in his own division. Obviously Williams has been looking to fight the bigger names which is why he was trying to fight Pavlik. I dont think it has anything to do with being afraid of power. Williams has shown a very good beard. I do think a real good counterpuncher could really give Williams fits. Say what you want about Wright being old but I thought he fought well considering the circumstances. I watched that fight and honestly felt that if Winky would of got a fight with Pavlik he could beat him. Winky is a good counterpuncher but Williams does overwhelm you. In Williams first fight with Quintana, remember Quintana was a fill in opponent. Williams was suppose to fight Cintron and CIntron backed out. A loss is a loss but I dont think Williams was amped or prepared for him. He tried to fight quintana fight and lossed. Thats why in the rematch Williams did him and it was a quick night. Williams is actually in the same situation. Somebody backed out again. I wouldnt even match him with anybody like Martinez right now because I believe that is the type of fighter that can beat him. WIth that said I think Paul could dispose of Martinez pretty easily

My buddy likes Williams and thats basically cause he's like an around the way kinda guy-but outside that-he's just a tall guy that throws alot. I just don't see where he's all that-Calzaghe threw alot but he was imo a great fighter with damn good movements-dude had rytm-I know yall haven't notice this-but they keep him away from punchers-the only dude he fought that I can think of that could crack was Margarito-but they sparred with him so they new what they could do sorta. Martinez is the fight that he personally shows me something-if he can beat him-then it is what it is-but since Quintana out boxed him-I don't know about Will-he says he had a bad night cause he lost comes back and wins-then we say well maybe he did have a bad night-he was just out boxed and I think Martinez has what it takes 2 beat him-if he does it-thats another story. Another thing is he talks about fighting Calzaghe @ 175 but wont fight Green @ 168-their just keeping him away from punchers

Williams vs Mosely doesn't interest me @ all-but I'm lookn 4ward 2 Williams fighting Martinez now-I don't think Williams is all that and I think sum of yall are over killn it as usual. The dude beats Margarito n a really tough close fight-then gets a boxing lesson from a much shorter fighter-then in the rematch the shorter fighter tries to go toe to toe-completely opposite of what he should be doing and gets blitz-then Williams beats an old ass shell in Phillips-then a guy in his late 30's, inactive longer than Floyd plus cumn off a loss in his last outing. It takes next 2 nothn 4 yall 2 think 2 highly of a fighter. I like Martinez as a fighter-he has pretty good skills-I think Santos is a dangerous fight 4 Williams also. Williams is just a tall fighter that throws alot of punches-he fights short and is easy 2 hit-chin hanging all out there-Martinez shouldn't have any problems hittn him-I think Santos puts Williams 2 sleep. I can't believe soo many people think Williams can beat Pav-it's crazy

> Mosley should fight Williams on dec.5th,and let Berto > vs. Collazo fight on the undercard! Mosley would be the perfect fill-in opponent for Williams. But, Mosley has made it clear he wants no part of Dub. That's sounds a little funny coming from a guy who is running around accusing people of ducking him.

I think Pavlik needs to have a serious sitdown with his medical team and see if this is something that is career threatening. If yes, he needs to go ahead and shut it down. And you never know. Vitali was out for four years, he got right, and now he's as dominate as ever. But, IMO Pavlik shouldn't schedule any more fights until he's sure this problem is fixed for good. As for P-Dub, I think he needs to go back down, and dominate 154. The one man, three division experiment has been pretty much a bust. So instead of going up and fighting light heavyweights, or draining himself to fight welterweights, he just needs to go to his best weight, which is 154, and simply dominate it for a while. Plus, if he is sitting there dominating 154, it puts him right in the middle of the welterweight and middleweight divisions. So he may be able to lure one of the welterweight starts up to fight him or still get his crack at Pavlik if he comes back.
