Of all the fights that have happened with big name fighters or that have been announced for some time this year, what fights just don't make sense to you? are pointless in your opinion? Or are just a big waste of money for the fans to watch?

Sometimes I wonder if Holyfield and Hopkins have a wager as to who will retire first.

Sergio is way out of his league but I'd still be interested just to see how he does. Moreso than I would the Steve Forbes fight. -- [bVitali Klitschko--The Greater Brother

agreed i dont want to see hopkins holding and wrestling with pavlik all night....i watched the winky wright fight the dude i have always thought has mad boxing skills and great defense...he should of been able to beat hopkins easily but the ref never took points away from hopkins for holding headbunting pushing and elbowing...not one time... wright was the agressor i have to say that was the worst fight i ever seen wright fight....what can you do if the ref dont warn the guy.....at that take any points......alot of people say they dont like wrights style the dude stays in the middle of the ring i hardly see him hold and he is willing to trade punches....the only thing is the other guy rarely lands.....that is a big difference when you have someone like hopkins using his holding as defense and other dirty tactics he uses to win...wrights was pure boxing hopkins has been pure bs......nothing poersonal against fighters like that but i like defense just as long as theres no wrestling involved......

When he lost to Taylor twice everyone thought he was done. But he looked so good against Tarver that it kinda erased what happend with Taylor. Then he beat Wink, and losing to Calzage is no big deal. And as bad as he looked against Calzage, he still managed to put arguably the best fighter in the world on the floor. If you look at that list of opponents everyone one of those guys were considered elite fighters at the time of the fights and at 40+ Hopkins has been able to hold his own. Until someone convincingly beats the guy I think he may hang around forever. Although a lost to Pavlik probaly officially ends his reign as a fighter of elite status.

Well you didn't say that had to be PPV fights but I would have to say that Delahoya Forbes was a big waste of time. Good opportunity for Forbes and nothing else. -- [bVitali Klitschko--The Greater Brother

Hitking, I have always liked Hopkins, I think he was a great fighter, I do think that at this point with how little the guy throws, he is not doing himself any favors and since Taylor beat the guy twice and Pavlik beat Taylor twice and now Calzaghe beat him too, it loses it's value to me. It's good in a sense to see how Pavlik looks against him, but the guy isn't throwing much of anything. I just don't see it as anything special at this point.

> Hitking, I'm just curious, what makes Pavlik Hopkins > a superfight in your opinion? I'm trying to see your > reasoning on this so maybe I can alter my perspective. The Ring and ESPN has both of these guys rated on their P4P list. Hopkins' is actually in the top 5 of both. Obviously Pavlik will go in the favorite. And with the P4P crown being vacant, a convincing win for Pavlik and he could stake his claim to being the #1 fighter in the world P4P. He would have just as good an argument as anyone else.
